What an exceptional restaurant. Friendly staff over the phone. Got the order perfect. Generous portion sizes for their normal rolls and specialty rolls. Food was ready for pickup when I arrived. When I opened up the food at home, the sushi was still nice and cold (Good take home containers) Having a discount in this climate is a true gem of West LA. Cannot wait to go back.

One of my family’s favorite sushi spots. Always a classic. However, this is the only Backhouse we’ve ever gone to where the sushi with truffle didn’t actually have some pieces of truffle on top — just the oil. But other than that, another great experience with this chain.

I came here on a Sunday night around 8pm and all of the seats were taken, but the wait was only 10 minutes. The line is self-managed so there's no need to get your name on a paper list (it doesn't exist)! Just walk in and wait. I ordered the 6-hand roll from the set menu. The hand rolls are made with warm rice and come one at a time. They were delicious. Loved every single one. The check is provided at the table at the end of the meal and then you pay near the exit. Tip is already included in the check which may or may not be a good thing depending on you! Anyway, loved this place. Prices weren't bad either. Can't wait to come back.

WOW!!! This place has just tied for #1 favorite sushi spot in LA. The $1.50 oysters is what really reeled is in, but the sushi chefs, the sashimi, and the service is what's going to keep us coming back! We sat at the bar where we were entertained by the sushi chef. The sushi and the oysters were super fresh and HUGE! Not sure about the parking situation during the day, but if you come after 10 pm on a Monday, you can park at the meters - just read the signs. Happy hour is everyday from 4 10pm - close and HAPPY DAYS are all day Monday - Wednesday. Great prices, great food, great service! What more could you ask for?! Definitely coming back! We came back and to add, they have David and my ALL TIME FAVE DESSERT: CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE! Every bite was oozing! It was magnificent

Hands down the best sushi roll I have ever had! It's a place I always come to treat myself because it is a little pricey but it's absolutely worth it every time. They don't take reservations so you'll have to wait in line! My favourite roll is their scallop roll, then yellowtail, then toro! I can keep on eating them! It's definitely better to get it there- but they also do takeout where they cut the rolls up. 10/10 and hands down my favorite sushi place ever.
