I really like Garcia's. The food is very good and reasonably priced. They are very friendly from the moment you walk in 'till you leave. I got the cheese enchiladas and they were awesome! I like the ambiance, the location, the food, the service and the price. Nothing to complain about. Great place to have a good Tex Mex meal.,
Garcia's, the end all, be all.. Being a young adult from Lubbock I have basically grown up on Garcia's, as our choice of Mexican food in the area. The food has always been good but the service has really gone down hill. They've kept a lot of the same servers for years but it's as if they have now grown tired of the restaurant and take it out on everybody. The new hires seem to be college students just seeking something that will make them quick money. This disappoints me because the food is so good. You should keep in mind, like another user said, that they like the throw in sneaky up charges to things like sour cream or tortillas. In the end, food is amazing, service could use some work and as far as the prices go, you never know what you're going to get.
I like the food, always hot and tasty. The servers are not always friendly, not the most warm and welcoming feelings upon entering or while dining.
LOVE THIS PLACE!. I don't know what the people above are thinking, saying the food at this restaurant isn't good. My family & I go here at least twice a week, sometimes more. I LOVE it! You can tell everything is authentic and not canned like most places. I am addicted to the stuffed sopapilla and fajitas, yum! making me hungry just writing about, ha!
I definitely recommend this place to those looking for amazing mexican food :)
Bright and loud but great service with average food. The chips and salsa were delivered when we sat down and the wait staff did great job keeping chips and salsa coming through out the meal. They ran out of red wine. Food came out hot and pretty quick. The food was standard Tex Mex. No complaints on the food it was just your standard with good chips and salsa. Did not try marguerites.
Solid alternative if you want to try a different Mexican food place.... Every time we've gone the food has been good and the service is good most of the time. Occasionally we've caught it when the service was slow, but that's the exception rather than the rule.
Great Service. Today was my first time at Garcia's (Iliterally walked by and smelled it- I had to go in!) The food came out quickly and was piping hot. Our waitress was attentive and very sweet. Bonus points for having Diet Dr Pepper and for refilling my salsa without me having to ask!
Very good food and quick service. never disappointed so I keep going back!
Garcias=Amazing. Garcias owns mexican food in Lubbock, period! We were in two fridays ago, Mariachis were playing and customers were even dancing! It was awesome. Yes, the place is loud, but we were there to have a good time so we didnt mind. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a relleno and enchilada combo plate and it was to die for. Our waitress, Alexa I think, was so nice and gave us incredible service. The people on the patio looked like they were having a blast, and we wanted to go out there but it was a bit chilly for us. I was able to meet some of the family that owns it, and they were a delight as well. This is definitely our new favorite spot, and we will NEVER go anywhere for mexican again. Trust me, you will love it!
Great food, tho dinner is a bit pricy. That being said, my dish was worth $9.00. I had chicken fajita taco salad. Something like that. It was huge and the chicken was awesome.
I would eat here every day ! Yummy!
Good mexican food. I don't know if it's because I'm not a native Texan, but I find that a lot of tex-mex food is really bland. Garcia's food totally makes up for any bad mexican restaurant that I've been to. Admittedly the chips are slightly greasy, but they bring you guacamole by the cupful and it's so delicious. My favorite here is the enchiladas. I usually get the mixed plate, which has a beef, chicken, and shrimp enchilada with your choice of sauces. I like the sour cream sauce (I'm a sour cream addict) but they also have cheese, green and red sauces. I've only been here after 5pm and the place is always packed. I agree with another reviewer that there are lots of hard surfaces so it is rather noisy, but well worth it. The service is always good here too, never had a glass go empty.
Food is decent but not for the amount of pesos you spend.
Worth It in a Pinch. Garcia's provides good, solid if unspectacular Mexican food. I consider it a bit bland, but some folks don't like too much heat and spice, I guess. In short, there are better Tex-Mex restaurants in Lubbock, but there are many worse ones, too.
Great Tex-Mex food that is reasonably priced
I second Rose! Best Tex-Mex in Lubbock!!
Hands Down, Best Mexican Food in Lubbock!!
I ordered the Garcías special with a taco enchilada and tamale, kids taco plate a combination plate with a taco and enchilada. Very good food. Cassandra was a our waitress today. She was very nice and attentive. She got our order right on the spot and cooks did great getting it right.
Very excellent food. Service was great. The waiter, Johnnie was very nice and always came back to see if everything was needed. I ask for a refill and he gave me one quickly. He shows he is really dedicated worker. I will go there again at the same time frame. I was there when it just opened.
My dad and I enjoyed a good meal together there just yesterday. Food was good service was as well. These folks are working hard and under staffed. But our glasses were never empty and the food was served steaming hot!
Awesome food, great atmosphere, and an attentive waitress. After we cashed out, she provided us with additional salsa and chips to take home with our leftovers. We will definitely be back.
