Good fried chicken and decent BBQ. Sauce is pure n c vinegar based. Portions are big.
Politest wait staff! They brought us more sauce, a free drink, and checked up on us constantly. Very pleased! Good barbecue too - the vinegar sauce was awesome.

This about as close to the real NC bar-b-que of the old days when there were many small local joints that smoked their own pork. Meat used to be Minced not "pulled pork". Smithfield is good,quality & quanity wise. I live in Fla. now, but whenever I visit family, I always go a couple of times to satisfy my cravin'
This is a great place to get chicken tenders or some descent 'Q while on the road. It's also my new favorite place to grab a bite to go before charging the Tesla in the mall across the street! The staff has stereotypical southern patience and friendliness (I watched a cashier help an older woman taking more than 5+ minutes to decide on an order), the bathrooms are clean, and there's plenty of places to sit in the cavernous dining room. We found the portion sizes large enough to share, and the meat high quality if a little light on the salt. It's definitely designed to go along with one of the sauces for most people's tastes. Definitely stopping here again on the next trip south.
The service went above and beyond and the food is great. Such a wonderful staff and such a pleasant environment it was a pleasure trying this place out for the first time. I will definitely look for more locations on my travels! Thank you!
Ms. Pat is such a joy to see and run into. Our food was amazing! Potato salad tastes like there is sugar in the recipe. Brunswick stew is the BEST aside from a place back home in Florida! Friendly service from all employees and great food!
The staff went above and beyond to make our lunch experience enjoyable. They noticed my daughter was a little chilly and turned up the heat, brought extra silverware and cookies for the kids, and just were super sweet! We all enjoyed the food!
1st time visiting and man what an impressive experience we had. The staff was amazing and so friendly. The young lady keep walking about and checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Note to management the front end staff that worked 6/20/22 around 8pm should get a increase in pay because those young ladies were so friendly, great job đź‘Ť More restaurants need people like you.
Fast service, delicious food and friendly staff. This place has it all. I love the fried chicken and Brunswick stew. The barbecue sandwiches are amazing also with coleslaw on it. If you haven’t been to Smithfield’s you should definitely give it a try.
Truly has a quick drive thru & the food was very good. I love their barbecue/cole slaw sandwich, fried chicken(white) & their pork skins. Their tea is very good as well. My family (4) eat here at least 4 times a month and will continue making this our Barbecue spot.
