Gulf Bistro is a very nice and reasonably priced French restaurant. If you happen to be in the Madeira - Redington Treasure Island - Indian Rocks Beach area, make it a point to visit this treasure of a restaurant. Our feast, (we both had the veal special) with a bottle of wine and dessert and tax came to just about $100.00. I think we will always return to this place every time we visit the area. See you September 4, 2017.
Wonderful! Cute, small and personal. The owners take excellent care of their customers. It is a relaxed French bistro atmosphere, and the food is really delicious. Its very reasonable as well. We will go again, and again, and again. Try the duck, and try the mussels!
Definitely one of the best places I’ve ever been to for French cuisine. Super cute and intimate. The food was delicious and the staff were outstanding. I’ll definitely be back!
This is a wonderful Bistro! We have eaten here several times in the last few years and it is always fabulous. The food is authentic, perfectly prepared and portioned. Beautiful wine list and the best crepes! (try the caramel crepe!) The service is impeccable and sincere.

The meals are like a piece of artwork!!! Exquisite! Atmosphere quaint cozy, you feel like you have left the states and gone to France! The food is the best I've had done here and I've been coming for 40 years !!! Worth every penny!!
Our friends told us about this restaurant, we are dining there periodically in the last couple of years. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great ambiance with friendly service. Gulf Bistro is a true culinary gem, hidden in Madeira Beach. Mercy bien Madame et Monsieur.
It was a good night to go. Monday is probably a quite night for them. The decor is just what you would expect for a French bistro. Everything was delicious. We will be back.
Authentic, delicious, charming, varied menu, attentive service. A favorite.
Amazing French Cuisine! Great place for a Romantic Dinner with the one you love! We always feel like we are in Europe with the personable excellent service!
We been coming to this restaurant for the past 9 years, best romantic and french food you will ever find. Love the owners Marie and Frederick.
Yes, it is as c;lose to Paris (or any sophisticated metro area of France) as you can get to in this county. And the next. And the next. Not just the food, not just the wine .. but the ambiance is just like a small bistro you would expect to find in France. I come here often to enjoy the incredible cuisine and drift back in my mind to past visits to Paris. Well worth the time and price to visit. Expect French quality ingredients, cuisine, chef expertise, and portions - this is truly a French experience in the middle of Pinellas county. I have tried every other French restaurant in the surrounding counties - nothing beats Gulf Bistro.
Food. I came in to eat on New Year's Eve , the food and service were amazing..!!! I had the foie gras and beef Wellington and they were die for. The owners were very friendly and personable.
A Delightful Dinner. With 8 picky people to please, the Gulf Bistro scored a perfect 10. It was considered the best dinner of the trip and the Flounder Amandine the best fish of the week. It is a beautiful gem of a restaurant that is perfect for a quiet dinner of well prepared food, beautifully presented and happily served. The Cream Brule was superb - perfect texture, temperature and taste. A great find on the beach and definitely a place to revisit. Reasonable prices and an excellent selection of menu items.
Love the place, very quiet, good food, friendly staff, romantic.
Not Good - Great!. Absolutely outstanding food --- all the way down the menu. Reasonably priced fine dining. Nice atmosphere. You would never guess how wonderful this place is by the looks of the little strip center it is in. We regularly take out out of town guests and they always love it. As a matter of fact -- we have a reservation for 4 at 730 tonight. Love it!
I was at the Gulf Bistro for a second time last week and it was every bit as good as the first. Fine dining at a reasonable cost and a very nice atmosphere. The owners are fabulous and take their recommendations as they are always excellent. We will frequent this restaurant.
God bless the broken road that led us straight to Gulf Bistro on Friday night. Have you ever had one of those nights when you have a place in mind for dinner, you get there but the wait is unreasonably long, then you start driving around looking for alternatives (none of which turn out to be particularly viable)...and all the while, it's getting later and later and you're getting hungrier and hungrier? I know ...what a nightmare, RIGHT? That was us when our plan to visit Snapper's Sea Grill on St. Pete Beach went south after we arrived and determined that it would be at least 30 minutes before we could be seated and (quelle horreur!) there was no bar. One of the few things UD doesn't do well is wait...and he waits even less well when he has to queue up on the sidewalk along with the proletariat (aka tourists) without a cocktail to nurse. Ummm...not happening. Having passed Sea Hags Bar and Grill on our way, we decided to try that instead. The fact that we weren't acknowledged fo
Gulf Bistro is hands down one of our favorite restaurants. Service is amazing, super cute inside & authentic. The food is 10/10. Great portions. We split our lobster penne pasta & they actually split it for us. It even had chunks of lobster! Sooooo good! Thank you Fred & Marie & their daughter.
We were nervous looking at the building from the outside but once you enter, you are brought into what I would imagine a French bistro would feel like. Greeted by lovely staff. Our wine was delightful. Food was amazing!!! Highly recommend!
We have been going to the Gulf Bistro for years and it only gets better!
Last night there were four of us and it was one of the best meals ever. Try the Sea Bass if the chef has it on the menu! The lobster pasta was sensational! The French family that owns and runs this restaurant takes great pride in it and it shows in the high quality food and exceptional service. Highly recommended.
This place was fantastic! It's a very small place and the location was deceiving but don't let that stop you. We tried escargot for the first time and it was delicious! The rest of our meal was also phenomenal (red snapper with shrimp in a lobster sauce and lamb t-bone in a tomato-based sauce). Wine, dessert, salad, bread, atmosphere, everything was perfect. We will be back the next time we're anywhere near the Madiera Beach area!
Visited Gulf Bistro on March 15, 2022 with friends . Each of the four of us had different menu items all of which were awesome. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was so pleasant. Certainly one of the finest restaurants that I have had the privilege of visiting.
My only criticism of Gulf Bistro is that it's too far from Philadelphia for me to go every night! Thank you Fred and Madame for many many years of excellent food. When I think of the beautiful Treasure Island beaches, my very next thought is of the wonderful sauces coming out of Fred's kitchen.
