Our kids grew up coming to the Candy Kitchen on vacation. We have always rented a house along the gulf up the street and this is a fun little excursion and a memory we all share fondly. Fun choice of old candies, supper yummy ice cream and fudge. My daughters fave was always the taffy. Great place and people!

We showed up at closing time looking for a sweet place still open! As we walked in the guys were gracious enough to allow us to get our ice cream. They were fun and accommodating to us. Great selection of truly homemade flavors!! We will be back next time we are in town!!

We have visited since we moved here in '98. Nothing in this area compares. We would love a sit down style ice cream shop. Maybe something to think about?!?!

Fun to look around and reminisce while looking at all the old candy from our childhood. The really LONG line out into the sidewalk is for ice cream. If you only want candy you can come in on the left and look at all the candy and home made fudge.

Nice ice cream shop with throw back candy choices. Graffiti all over the walls. Junior scoops should be enough for most. Single is actually three scoops and will have you battling with gravity if on a sugar cone. Fun place.

Fantastically fun ice cream.. All of the candy and ice cream here looked great. I had the watermelon with nerds, and it just tasted like fun. The workers seemed to be genuinely happy, as well, even right before closing.

What a wonderful place to visit! I went to the store over on Redington beach and it was fantastic! A lot bigger than the one on Madeira and the staff is always so friendly. The girl was by herself but she handled a group of children with such patience that I was impressed. To top that off, the ice cream and the portions are excellent. Five people and lots of ice cream for under $20, can't beat that!

Why does sugar have such a bad name? I have been visiting this place since I was a kid and realized only today that I had failed as a father by not introducing my children to this "bad habit". Memories are found and made at this place. A friendly staff will be happy to discuss candy nostalgia with you when it is not too busy. The freshest twizzlers I have ever tasted. Just say "yes" to this sugar high.

YUMMY and FUN!. We all love visiting the Candy Kitchen. The ice cream is freshly made and the candy that lines the walls bring back so many memories. The portions are rather large so becareful when you order. Don't be discouraged by the long lines, it moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Sweet Place. The Candy Kitchen has been open since 1950 and has been a popular spot for decades. It is well-known for homemade fudge, ice cream and nostalgic candy. They have an amazing collection of Pez dispensers and retro candy.

Oldies but Goodies!. Loved the place... brought back many memories of long time ago candy... especially the "Violets"... It was also the BEST homemade icecream I've had in years! I couldn't decide between "pistachio nut" or "butter pecan"... and they said it was okay to have both in one cup! The sugar didn't even bother me... it was really good icecream! A definite favorite and I plan to go there again when I go back. I brought back some "Turkish Taffy" and "Violets"!

If you like candy, ice cream & nostalgia… you will love Candy Kitchen. First of all the ice cream is so good and so many flavors to choose from. There are milkshakes too. Then the candy selection is through the roof. There is candy from days gone by … things that will take you back to your childhood. They also have balsa wood gliders, pez dispensers and so many other cool things . It’s like taking a time machine back 50 years ago. Oh, and you have to at least look at the restroom… it’s pretty dang cool.

The Candy Kitchen was a very interesting stop for us. It opened its doors back in 1950 and hasn't stopped since then. We met a gentleman who has been coming here since they opened, he is a life long customer. Tons of interesting candies, ice creams, Italian ice, shakes etc... the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the items. I enjoyed a delicious strawberry milkshake and my wife enjoyed an Italian ice. If you are in the area it's a must stop.

If you come to St. Pete Beach, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach or Clearwater Beach, I’d suggest you make the beach your 2nd stop and come here first; just to make sure you don’t miss the gem. We were in the area for a work event and drove past and saw that sign that said “since 1950”. Any place that’s been around for 72 years has gotta be doing something right. This place is awesome. Not only is the selection immense, the options nostalgic, the prices beyond reasonable and the product delicious, but the staff members we encountered where unbelievably friendly and patient. If you’re torn, go with the Big-Mouth. You’re on vacation, the calories don’t count.

Don't leave the shop without trying their homemade almond toffee! Love driving my scooter to this location. Great views, nice shop. Small, but the employees are always friendly. This shop always brings back memories. You can find all kinds of candies from the past here. Games and toys, too! I haven't seen any organic candies in the shop yet, but I am hoping they will carry them sometime soon!

Candy Kitchen has become one or favorite destinations. We always enjoy the drive along Gulf Blvd just to get to the store. The selection of candy is really good as well as some homemade fudge. However, my favorite has been the chocolate cover bananas with sprinkles! Pictured is the bathroom that is plastered with candy wrappers on the walls, and the floor is cover with bottle caps covered with epoxy.
