This is a great place to enjoy mead. The owner helped us out while we were there when tips and suggestions, so friendly and welcoming! We had two flights and didn't find one mead we didn't like. Friendly staff and great drinks! A must stop at location when in Madison!
Friendly service, conscientious, clean, down home atmosphere and SUPERB drinks. The "Fall of Lemuria" mead is fruity, woody, sweet, and a bit sour. It tastes like an autumn walk in the woods. Go if you can, especially as they struggle with the pandemic.
A wonderful, welcoming place. The mead is absolutely mind boggling. It isn't sickly sweet like most tend to be, and instead is a refreshing, aromatic, and delicious drink regardless of the kind you try (try the Hibiscus Ginger). I left angry at myself for not buying a few growlers to take home.
On top of the drinks, the environment is lovely, warm, and energetic. It's a lovely place I won't possibly forget.
Mead who knew it? Ancient brew of honey, fruit and spices. Try the door county cherry - crisp and refreshing. It is not as sweet as you think it will be though it will go to your head. The staff is friendly and they are trying out a new space with music and other events. No food is served except snacks. Nice big windows and mellow vibe -- it is Mead after all.
Really interesting place. Like the variety of flavor options, from sweet to spicy. Highly recommend the “hammer smashed” made with door county cherries. Nice location, and friendly staff
Update: went with some friends, and caught the tail end of a wedding party. Bar staff was different, and service was prompt and as snappy as can be at a busy bar. Only waited about 4 or 5 minutes, and part of that was my friends getting in the way. I looked down the list, and stopped at Hammer Smash Cherry. Just, that name. Flavor was spot on, price for the full bottle made that a pretty easy choice as well.
(Original review) The Mead was delicious, and well finished. The bar itself was made up like a Mead Hall as the name suggests. The big drawback here was service. There were only two bartenders there, and while one was busy helping a band set up on the stage, the other one leisurely conversed with a single group of of customers, ignoring the ever growing line of patrons looking for a drink. At the 15 minute mark, the guy setting up came and started serving while sir chats a lot kept conversing with his friends. He even started pouring for them while ignoring us. It's going to take a lot of convincing for me to return here. I've got better things to do than stand around thirsty for 20 minutes for some overpriced Mead. Each sample board was around $20, and had 6 oz glasses in it.
First visit was to see band Sweet Delta Dawn. Bos Meadery hosts outstanding Women's music festival known as Freyja Fest yearly; overall, a solid spot to network with like minded individuals interested in the arts, music, and live entertainment. Performance on visit of 24 Nov 2019 remarkable as adding classical strings alongside guitars and vocal harmonies of Roberts and Shays to reach a perfect third voice surmount to a pure eclecticism. Considering music is a means of release and heals the soul, recommend the venue for those seeking novelty in local talent. Seating is spacious, bar offers drinks at reasonable prices, and artwork present is a delight for the aesthete.
