Great location, great beer, great atmosphere. All of the negative things about this place are ordinances forced upon it by the NIMBY neighborhood around it because apparently having a beer in a park by the lake will destroy civilized society. Extra big kudos for only stocking Wisconsin-produced independent beers...that alone would get me to come back and continue supporting this place!

Such a cute and fun place to hang out on a summer afternoon. Awesome beer selection and locally sourced snacks. While the one beer per person is a little cumbersome, it's a city ordinance and the staff was incredibly friendly and cool about it. Madison needs more places like this. We will definitely be back!

Such a great addition to the neighborhood. Great addition to the whole east side. Been there a few times already. Great place to stop for a bike ride great view of the lake and great people sitting around enjoying beverages. The pretzels, the cheese curds and root beer for kids are all awesome too. There's really no reason not to stop by.

They'll work out the issues from their opening weekend. As others have said, the rule that each person can only buy one beer is totally an issue ...bc then you lose your seat. But I'll contact my alderperson about it.... something needs to change about that. But otherwise-- beautiful location, fantastic view, great to have options for things kids can do (cornhole, or bring frisbee / soccer ball / whatever to play in the open fields). Maybe some day....a slightly expanded menu of food items? Having said that, it's also awesome that you can bring in your own food, or ... you can get Glass Nickel delivered. The Biergarten totally nailed that!

I love everything about this! Beautiful location, great beer options & laid back atmosphere. Visiting the Biergarten seems like the perfect way to end a day of kayaking or paddle boarding. Will definitely be back soon!

We love it. Just a short walk from our house, we often meet friends, walk over with dinner, or just go to relax. Our kids run around, sandbox their heads off, fish from the shore. A great addition to both the Eastmorland neighborhood specifically and the east side in general.

Great atmosphere and beautiful spot by the lake. Considering the location at the lake, $6 per 1/2 liter seems ok especially if you compare it to a bar with outdoor seating. I love that we can bring our own food and have an actual meal there. I'd love to see a Boule game available, too but I guess it would require more space where there is no seating. Curious how late in the year the Biergarten plans to stay open.

It's a close bike ride. Very casual. Easy going. Totally perfect for families. It's a perfect little addition to the east side. After biking through Milwaukee a couple of summers ago I had hoped madison would start introducing biergartens! Oh and the view is perfect. Beer selection is decent!

I'm just waiting for someone to give this a one star review and then giggle why.

The Biergarten at Olbrich Park offers one of the best views of downtown Madison and killer sunsets. They have a great selection of local Wisconsin beers.

First time visiting, we stopped out because they were showcasing 3 Sheep's Brewing from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Great beers, great views, the food was really good, too. Service was nice, ordering was efficient. They also had plenty of activities for our 7 and 10 yr old kids. You are welcome to bring your dogs on a leash, which made for a nice night out with the family.

My first time visiting. Make sure you bring your ID, as the card everyone. The lines can get long during certain hours. When we were leaving the lines were weaving into the parking lot. They have several picnic tables for you to sit and chat while drinking by the lake. The beer/cidar/non-alcoholic drink selections are good and their pretzels with beer cheese or honey mustard dips are pretty good.

Very breezy day off the lake and the crowd was having a good time. At capacity and waited for 15 minutes before entering. Parking is always limited. Food was bad and beer was expensive but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the company.

What an awesome addition to the east side! There are few solid beer options from local breweries. If you don't want beer they have cider and root beer. The soft pretzels are really good and they also have brats and cheese curds. They also allow outside food in, and we've even seen people order delivery from Glass Nickel. Tons of lawn games and even a sandbox for kids. Great views of the lake and an amazing atmosphere! So glad to be within walking distance.

Quick service and friendly staff. I wish they had more food options though, such as fried cheese curds, popcorn, warm beer cheese sauce, or street tacos.
