This was our first visit to Cataloochee Ranch and I can say that it was definitely not our last visit there. We were made to feel at home from the moment we entered into the lobby, and made new friends as we lingered on the back porch to watch the beautiful view. Tables were arranged in a lovely setting and we thoroughly enjoyed our tablemates, who we had never met before tonight. Food was served buffet-style, but not like any buffet you've ever had - more like a top notch 4 star restaurant. Everything was delicious! After the meal, which included some wonderful desserts, we were entertained by a duo singing and playing guitar - they got all the children singing along to old country songs and dancing a jig. We felt that we had had a very unique experience by the time we started driving back down the mountain - what a wonderful place! We will return many times. Highly recommended.
The very best place to see the beauty of God's handy work, food very good! Horse back ridding staff the is the very best I have EVER seen.!!!! I ride horse's there because of the girls who are so patient, friendly, kind, and very professional. They know what they are doing!!!! They are the best staff there..... If you go, and I am sure you will, make sure you meet the horse back ridding staff!!! I love this place, all around FANTASTIC..... can't wait to go back!!!!
Had a wonderful experience here celebrating my cousin's wedding. I can't recommend this place enough. Amazing scenery, delicious food, and friendly and courteous staff.

Myself and my brother and our wives enjoyed a great breakfast here. The fluffiest scrambled eggs with homemade biscuits & gravy, sausage and bacon, fresh fruit bowl, juice and select condiments made for a great start to our day. Even though we weren't guests at the lodge, our excellent waitress, Sandi, invited us to go out and enjoy the grounds which are absolutely beautiful. Thanks guys..

Just spent 7 nights at this beautiful place! We can't say enough about the kind and attentive staff...stayed in The Willow Cabin, great views and loved our private porch.

We love Cataloochee! We bring all our guest here for the ultimate dinner experience. The views are breathtaking and the staff are very friendly. It's not exactly about the quality of food it's about the experience, views and history.
My sis and I rented a couple hours of pure heaven on Petey and Gambler, Judy B our trail guide made us feel like family and went above and beyond and Cyn and I truely appreciated that. We swore to go back someday soon and this time we will stay at the ranch. Can't wait.
Cataloochee Ranch is the most beautiful venue in the world. The mountain views from the ceremony site are breathtaking and the newly renovated events space the “hayloft” at the barn is both well thought out and stunning. Even if we had bad weather (luckily it was sunny) the venue would have been perfect. They have an awesome back patio and there were friendly horses in the nearby field for great photos. The staff are amazing and took care of everything. They were so welcoming and attentive to our guests. The food was unbelievably delicious - both hors d’oeuvres and dinner. We were a little nervous about being the first wedding since they renovated the space, but the event team was helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process. If you love the smoky mountains, this is the place for you.

Wonderful experience with friends who know this ranch. Perfect weather, beautiful vista's, amazing horses and Maddie was a fabulous guide! Will definitely visit again!
My husband and I had a great time on our horseback riding trail ride today. The views we're amazing with the fall leaves still hanging on and our Guide Melinda did a great job leading us around the trails and sharing stories. Would highly recommend!
We have stayed there many times. I can't wait until you open. First time there 1977.

Had a fantastic experience with the 2.5 hour horseback ride, from booking through the day of our ride. Ashli was super helpful when I first inquired about booking and honest about our options for riding in the Maggie Valley area. Decided to book based on that and am so glad I did!
My 8 year old daughter and I had an amazing time. The staff was super friendly, and made sure we were both comfortable with our horses. Melinda is a friendly, experienced guide who knows the area in and out, and gave us a ton of insight into the ranch and surrounding area as we rode. The horses were incredibly well cared for, calm and easy to ride. They know their job well, and it made for a very smooth and enjoyable experience for us as novice riders.
One thing we really enjoyed was the terrain we covered on the ranch. From hills, to forest trails, to stunning views at the top of a bald, we got to experience a variety of scenery on our ride, which helped keep it all interesting.
I highly recommend Cataloochee Ranch stables for families looking to try horseback riding in the Maggie Valley area - I know we'll be back!

What a wonderful lodge. The views are unbelievable, the staff can't be beat, and the breakfast is incredible. We stayed in one of the cabins and loved it. This place is like stepping back in time and provides a great escape from the day to day grind. The property adjoins the ski area so just minutes from the cabin to the slopes. Look for "Ms. Sandie" at breakfast, she is awesome.
Perfect in every way!!!!! The folks there do an amazing job making guests feel special. The setting is jaw dropping GORGEOUS if you are a lover of mountain beauty! Lots of trails to explore, EXCELLENT meals at the main lodge, and it is a place that embraces all ages! One will find many of the guests have been returning year after year. I highly recommend staying at the ranch!
The ranch is going to have several renovated cabins open in 2024. There will be a restaurant also.. You can go ride horses with a reservation..
The horses were amazing and when I did a private ride (being an experienced rider) we did lots of fun things with the lovely horses. The grounds are beautiful, the hotels themselves are very comfortable and the home cooked food is better than any I have had. A great place to be.
Rolled in on a whim as we were just tying to find somewhere to eat and had a couple hours to spare and I'm so glad we did. We just ate in the ranch as we weren't staying but the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. It was so cozy inside and the staff was so incredibly nice. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Would definitely go back.
Had a great 21/2 hour trail ride amid beautiful fall scenery with Wes and Melinda as guides. Even my husband enjoyed it and he's not a horse person. I highly recommend this ride.
Great spot for family gatherings, work retreat or just a weekend away. Staff works hard to provide good service and make you feel welcome. Food is good; a few more health-conscious options would be even better. They bring in entertainment for Fri and Sat nights which added a lot to our fun. We've been returning to Cataloochee Ranch for years. Love it!
First time visiting and was very impressed. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were very neat and clean. We went horseback riding and had a very personable trail guide who took us beginners on a safe and comfortable ride. My horse was huge but very well behaved. We will return.

We traveled to Cataloochee for the first time to ski and stayed the The Ranch. It reminds me of a place that would be in a Hallmark movie. Everyone was friendly and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. During our stay, there was some snow and ice but the roads were very well maintained so there was no issue coming/going to the ski area or down the mountain. It’s definitely the best place to stay if you are skiing at Cataloochee. Cannot wait to return with the kids. I bet it’s even more amazing during Spring/Summer with all the horses, cows, etc..
Although we never stayed at the ranch, we were welcome here for dining. We had a fabulous breakfast and the atmosphere and vistas are fabulous! They encouraged use to look over the grounds after our meal. Thanks for the hospitality guys!
This ranch is absolutely beautiful! I stayed with my family during New Years and it was a great getaway from home. The Ski area is only a mile away from the ranch.The people are so nice and attentive I am very happy I found this place.
Great, safe place to truly get away from the craziness of modern life. The cell reception is spotty, which will help you break your addiction. The views are stunning, the food and service are fantastic, and the weather is perfect in the summer. It's the quintessential family/couples mountain retreat venue.
Can only rate the horseback riding, but guide (Laura? Hope I got that right) was great! Horses look well cared for. Beautiful property and views-although our view wasn't visible because of heavy clouds, but you can't can't control the weather!! Would recommend this place to anyone.
