I absolutely LOVE this place and the owner, Donna is one of the nicest women I've ever met.
The food, the atmostphere, and the employees make this place the best place to eat on the east coast. That's my opinion and it will be yours too once you go there.
The best kept secret, a hidden gem! We went to lunch, which was delicious & wonderful mimosas🥂

Fantastic place. The food is out of this world with some of the best coffee that will ever grace your lips. Aside from that it is an art gallery, music venue and attracts the coolest people around. Can not recommend a better place to go.
A neighborhood gem. Wonderful cafe for lunch with friends, brunch with family, breakfast with the kids, or drinks and entertainment on the weekend (date night). Donna and her team never disappoint. The food is lovingly made and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Glad we finally made it to this place! Better than I even expected and I hear great things. I went with the curried chicken salad wrap and I am glad I did- excellent balance of the curry with nuts and cranberries. Even the coleslaw was great. My niece got a blt and she said it was the best bacon ever! Can't wait to go back and try the breakfast options.
I always love coming here on Saturday evenings with my husband. Such a great atmosphere with the live music and amaaaazing food. The new burgers on the menu are delicious. And can't forget about the chili. Great little hidden gem �

WOW. The vibe. The atmosphere. So welcoming and comfortable. I was greeted warmly. Enjoyed listening to, and playing some acoustic music. I ordered the gorgonzola flatbread and it was beyond amazing. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out.

Just had the best lunch at this amazing comfy cafe.....Donna puts her heart and soul into everything she creates and you can taste it in every bite! Organic veggie soup, best cole slaw and a delish tomato bacon lettuce avocado with chicken sandwich!!! If you haven't gone it's a must!!!
My favorite place to go when I'm in town. Breakfast wraps are delicious!!! Fresh ingredients, warm smiles, and rad people! Love this cozy, eclectic, joint!

The Freighthouse is one of the best cafes in Putnam County everything is perfect from the fabulous coffee down to the superb ambiance, not to mention Donna Massaro the owner ads her personal flair and touches always
Great food, friendly staff, yummy chai latte (sorry not a coffee drinker but I hear they have the best), amazing atmosphere...what more could you ask for.

I love the decor at the Freight House. They have outdoor seating but we came on a Sunday on a soggy weather so we were not able to enjoy our meals outside. Coffee is self served and they offer different flavors. "Freight House " Coffee is strong and we love it that way. Just the flavorful toasted taste Without the burnt taste. If you are dining in, mugs are available. If you want coffee to be served piping hot like we do, just asked them to zap it and they would gladly do it for you.
Menu is provided to you once seated and once you know what to order, you go upfront and placed them. The dishes will be served when ready. If you are familiar with 9W market, the set up is similar however Freight house is cozier. On a Sunday , around noon, a guitarist started to perform inside. Being seated inside, the sound system didn't work for our sensitive ears ... lol , the music played was good though. If seated outside, would be perfect.
Now onto to our breakfast orders:
Putnam - delicious. For next time, we will request the maple syrup on the side because it was too much for our liking.
Mushroom toast - delicious. I would request kale cooked well for next visit as I want my kale well cooked .
French toast - very good
I would definitely be back ! Staff are very accommodating, male and female!
Stopped off here during my long bike ride on the trail way. Loved how the ice was actually coffee in my iced coffee. Sandwich was good too! The girl at the counter was super sweet and patient with me asking questions and making up my mind. If I ever bike around there again I’ll be back!
This place is a little slice of heaven! The food, coffee, atmosphere, and most importantly the wonderful people who work there are all amazing. Full of kindness and warmth. The menu is very customizable as well. I have been going here since it opened and the same charm is still there every time I go!

Great atmosphere. Classic music, kind staff, tasty cafe/ brunch food with creative twists. Food is fairly priced and overall a really nice place go.
My wife and recently moved to Putnam County from the city, and we were in search of someplace where we could chill, relax, and have fresh squeeze mimosas in the area. This place was perfect. Loved the service. Love the atmosphere, loved the food and their mimosas were delicious!
Nice vibe, great coffee, yummy food, friendly staff, live music, free wifi, and pleanty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Using the bike path and don't have time to stop? They even have a bike path service station and can send coffee up to you. This is a great place to take a break from the day or bring your work with you. 10/10 would recommend.
Edit: They also offer food for take out.
Excellent menu. Fresh squeezed juice, yummy pancakes, local art for sale, and an adorable old time ambiance. Can't wait to go back for cocktails! Extra point because their ice cube game is strong. Your order iced coffee? You get coffee ice cubes! Fresh squeezed OJ? OJ ice cubes! Love that.
