Excellent atmosphere, top notch service, and delicious food! The pan seared scallops melt in your mouth, and the maple plank salmon was cooked perfectly. I also recommend the goat's milk cheesecake or chocolate pate for dessert! Definitely a restaurant worth checking out!!

LOVE this place! Our favorite place to have a nice glass of wine and snack , dinners are great too! The staff and atmosphere is what really makes this place our "go to" place. Oh, did I mention the fire pit outside and the huge fireplace always crackling inside.
Usually a once a week visit for us.
What a great find for not being a hotel guest. A very comfortable dining experience, super staff and wonderful menu. A burger would seem just like another burger but it was the best I had ever had and being a "true" New Englander the clam chowder and crab cake were fantastic.
This is now my "must go to" ...
The food, the atmosphere and the service are all first rate. We’re so lucky to have them in our community.
Outstanding establishment, staff the managers top class!!. I will definitely be back
Great staff, amazing food and craft cocktails. The manager Dan, is hilarious and accommodating. We will be back!
Great meal at the Copper Grouse. My wife's meal got comped because they fired pork instead. The mgr gave her a free glass of wine and took her dinner charge off the bill!! We never asked for a thing! Great customer service and we love the Kimpton Taconic! We will be back!
Amazing dinner. Amazing cocktails. But the waiter made the night (Michael!). One of those nights when you just walk away happy.

Such a great experience. The service was spot on and the food was fresh from local farms AND they were able to offer great choices for me with all my food allergies. It was so good we went for brunch two days in a row!
The food and service was amazing. Great cocktails and beer list too. The space is beautiful. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, great service, and best of all, amazing food! Best fine dining my wife and I have enjoyed in years.

Great food and great service. The Poutine is awesome. Different, but awesome. Good beer list and quaint atmosphere.
I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. Ambiance was rich, inviting and so comfortable. The food never disappointed and is a place I look forward to getting back to. It is new but no doubt they will only get better and better!

The ambience was great, the service was good, and the food was delicious!
Food has definitely gotten better since the new chef joined the team. The cucumber soup was delicious along with the eggplant appetizer. Entrees were nice as well. Our server was lovely.
The Copper Grouse is one of the nicest restaurants in Manchester. The restaurant is located within the Kimpton Taconic and is absolutely beautiful inside. We've had breakfast and dinner here many times, and like how the menu is unique to Vermont cuisine. They do a fantastic job at changing it around frequently as well. The food has always been outstanding, the dozen or so times that we have eaten here. Needless to say, we'd highly recommend the Copper Grouse!
From the moment I stepped into this charming establishment, I was enveloped by an ambiance that effortlessly blended rustic charm with refined elegance. The warm, inviting atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Now, let's delve into the culinary delights that awaited me. The Copper Grouse prides itself on its unwavering commitment to sourcing the finest, farm-fresh ingredients. Each dish I savored was a testament to this dedication, as the flavors danced harmoniously on my palate. The artful presentation of each plate was a feast for the eyes, reflecting the culinary mastery behind the scenes.
What truly sets The Copper Grouse apart is their ever-evolving menu, a testament to their culinary ingenuity. With each visit, I eagerly anticipated the opportunity to indulge in new and exciting flavor combinations. The chefs' creativity knows no bounds, and their ability to seamlessly marry ingredients into delectable works of art is truly awe-inspiring.
One dish that particularly captivated my senses was the meticulously crafted Heirloom Beet salad . The vibrant colors and expertly cooked beets showcased the true essence of farm-to-table dining. Each bite was an exquisite symphony of flavors, leaving me longing for more.
The service at The Copper Grouse was nothing short of exceptional. The staff, well-versed in the intricacies of the menu, guided me through a culinary journey with grace and attentiveness. Their genuine passion for their craft shone through, elevating my dining experience to new heights.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend The Copper Grouse to those seeking a transcendent dining experience. Immerse yourself in the world of refined flavors, where farm-fresh ingredients take center stage and culinary artistry knows no bounds. Indulge in the sophisticated charm of The Copper Grouse and allow your taste buds to embark on a gastronomic adventure like no other.
August 2023:
The porch re-opened for dining after being closed in the early summer. Calamari to share was very good. Tuna crudo was just okay. Duck in blueberry was excellent. Chocolate tartlette desert - very good.
July 2022: I love the porch here. Pretty, safe, comfortable. I had scallops as an appetizer and salmon as the main dish. I enjoyed both. Strawberry rhubarb cobbler was pleasantly tart.
October 2022: The Copper Grouse offers outdoor dining on the porch (the main reason we selected it over other choices in town). It was quite comfortable on Oct 2, 2021, 52F. They have heat lamp overhead as well as free standing.
The main entre of rack of venison was excellent, I also enjoyed the apple and plum cobbler. I did not like the pumpkin bisque, it was a bit too spicy from chili oil. A bread order is an extra charge of $6. The service is friendly but slow .
Food was absolutely amazing. Had shareable's off the Chef Special menu and they were amazing!!! Maple Pork Chop was fantastic and the flavor and garnish were perfect. Service matched well with the food!!!
We both had the rack of venison which was excellent. For desert we had the cobbler which we both loved.
They have outdoor dining on their porch. There are heatlamps in the ceiling so it was comfortable in early Oct.
The restaurant is in the Taconic Inn which has a Tesla Charger and a ClipperCreek for J1772 cars. The Tesla Wall Connector charges at 8KW, the ClipperCreek at 6Kw.
July 2022. The menu didn't have any specials this time so we had ordinary entrees this time. Had the NY strip, it was a little overdone, I ordered medium rare and it was medium. However it was delicious.
Aug 2023. We had the fried calamari to share, excellent. I had a mixed green salad, good, and a steak which was terrific.
Fantastic meal!! Wonderful server named Olivia.
Nice atmosphere. Best salmon I ever had and the beet purée was perfectly matched with the fennel. Bravo to the chef.
We stayed at Kimpton for the weekend we had dinner and breakfast nothing to complain about every thing was ok
The food was mostly delicious. The butternut squash soup was rich with multi-layered flavors of autumn, we had to order another. The duck, the beet salad were all appetizing, as well. Unfortunately, the coq au vin chicken was so dry, even the flavorful rustic sauce couldn’t save it. The atmosphere was also warm and inviting. Now the food deserves its stars, but the atmosphere could have gotten full marks but I didn’t because I wanted to emphasize the service. Our server has mastered her social skills that patrons will appreciate. So she gets the only 5 stars in this review!
We had a fantastic breakfast here. They stop serving breakfast at 1030, so good for brunch too.
Service was great, friendly and fast.
Food was delicious and plentiful.
Also a lovely room to dine in.
We were just visiting Manchester and not hotel guests. Recommend booking at busier periods.
We stayed overnight in this beautiful fall New England setting at the nearby Barrows House Inn, which has the same ownership. We had dinner and breakfast at the Dorsett Inn and restaurant. The grilled pork with a hint of mint was delicious. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. I asked for the most popular cabernet and she recommended the Charles Krug, which was superb! We enjoyed the service as much as the gorgeous fall colors!
Great food. Recommended to make reservations. Does get quite busy. Very friendly staff. Reasonable price.
Highly recommended
We had our Christmas lunch here. Love the Chilean sea bass, perfectly prepared. Best dish I will say in my trip of Manchester. Beautiful setting, elegant hotel!
Love it here! The food is always great and the servers are nice. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Would recommend to all!
Great service and ambience. Came here for lunch (day after a wedding so were quite hungry) and had a great time. We split the squash bisque and maple wings and each had a kale and caesar salad, followed by the wagu burger with truffle fries. Highly recommended!
This restaurant was fantastic. Had the Brussels sprouts appetizer, coq au vin, and beef bourgenion which was a special. Portions are great and our server Liz was very attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very chic and a tad rustic. Definitely recommend!
