We stayed in the Manistee Hotel, and this is the attached restaurant. They owner seemed very nice, and we were very impressed with our food. The hotel is offering food from the Cafe for breakfast (in place of the continental breakfast). I really expected an easy heat meal. What we got was so much better! Real eggs, grilled to order, and great portions. Very accommodating and the rest of the menu is affordable. I was very excited about my Bagel Sandwich each morning we were there.
We had a Wonderful breakfast this morning. Hot...Hot food. Scrambled eggs just right. Huge pancakes. Omelet was tasty. The cranberry walnut bread was so good!! All for a very reasonable price. Going back again!!
Breakfast of hash, eggs, and toast was perfect. I would recommend to anyone who wants a delicious and tasty breakfast.
AWESOME service! Ordered Thanksgiving dinner for delivery and asked for it to be delivered at 2. I was told that it needed to be earlier, since they close at 2. Told the very friendly lady we were going to zooming dinner at 3, and she said we'll make it the last delivery. Dinner got there after 2 and was hot when our family had virtually Thanksgiving Dinner! THANK YOU, Blue Waters Cafe Staff - can't wait to meet you in person
The lady that always works here is always so nice. We ordered the vegetarian omelette with ham added, hash browns, biscuits and gravy with sunny side up eggs on top, and toast. It’s normally a standard 30 minute wait but still good when we get it home!
The reviews didn't lie! Great, homemade meals. 5 kids, 2 adults and not a single complaint to make! We had burgers, grilled cheese, pancakes, salad bar, quesadilla...all delicious! Don't be fooled by the appearance of the place. It's a great find.
Perch was very good and so was the pepper jack crab soup. Forgot to bring an extra plate and were out of ketchup??!! Asked for bowl and received cup. However 4/5 stars because food was good and reasonably priced.
A lovely corner, Mom n Pop, place to eat. A super place if you want privacy but a diner look. The soups were fantastic! All homemade. The dinners were hot n with a home-proud taste. Would go again if in area.
My favorite place to go in Manistee. The food is delicious and even if you have to wait a little bit, it's more than worth it. You have to remember they also have delivery orders as well so even if you don't see someone else in the place, they might be cooking food to go. The prices are more than reasonable, especially if you add the salad bar to a sandwich for only an extra $3 which also includes soup. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault! Anyway, I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious home cooked food in a place that feels like home as well.
Nice family place, off the beaten path. Great coffee, delicious, homemade waffle, bacon extra-crispy as I ordered, eggs cooked perfectly. The only thing I'd subtract a point for is they don't serve real butter with their meals. Other than that I'd give it 4 stars out of 5.
I won't pretend that it's anything more than what it is--an unpretentious local diner serving good breakfasts and your favorite comfort foods. You'll get service with a smile, the food is generally quite good, portions are generous, the coffee is decent, and they still have a salad bar, which is becoming quite a rarity these days. Grimy carpeting, worn furnishings, and dilapidated boxes stacked in hallways would be hard to overlook if it wasn't such an affordable (and fun) place to dine. Breakfasts, burgers, pies, the meatloaf platter, and the various fish platters get my top recommendation here.
I highly recommend this restaurant. I have never had such a fresh salad bar ANYWHERE!!! Atmosphere is homey and comfortable. Staff friendly. Food (I had prime rib soup) was delicious. Breakfast was great. I cannot say enough about this place! If you are in Manistee, MI do visit this restaurant and enjoy!
