Everything we ordered turned out very delicious. The mussels were the best, it has an Asian twist and is a must order dish. Sea bass is fresh and it came as a whole fish. I don’t mind to see the fish head, but if you do then... I don’t drink alcohol, so I tried their soft proof cocktails - they all had great taste. I liked the Grilled pineapple. For the dessert, I only enjoyed the roasted apple because it is special, different from other regular desserts.

Went there as a solo diner without a reservation on a Saturday night at 6ish and was offered a spot at the bar or a spot at the communal table. I picked the bar but only because I have never experienced a communal table before and wanted someone to experience that with (lol). The bartender was attentive and helped me pick a drink that I would like. I chose many option to eat and they all came out very quick which the bartender told me they would but still surprised me how fast they actually did. The kitchen is behind a glass wall so you can pretty much see them cooking which is pretty cool. Everything tasted wonderful with my ideal level of char on the certain dishes that had it. The mussels were a bit messy but that's why you have a napkin. The dessert was delicious but I was so full I could not finish it. Out of everything I ordered tonight, I think the skewers we're my favorite but I look forward to trying something new next time I visit.

Fancy place but don't let it intimidate you, must try. It is a great date spot, very chic yet romantic. They've been offering very nice take outs for reasonable prices (dinner for two). I can't wait to dine in again tho

Our meal at Elmwood was enjoyable. We ordered the sweet potato baba ganoush, the Szechuan mussels, and the lamb cruda. The baba ganoush was innovative and served with a generous number of flatbreads. The lamb cruda was tasty if simple. The mussels were perfectly cooked but the potatoes ended up being rather oily and unappetizing. Overall the flavours seemed muted as to appeal to a wider audience, which I personally found slightly disappointing. Happening and tastefully decorated venue.

The dishes are tasty and ambience is good, especially for a quiet dinner. A good variety is offered on the menu.

Fantastic spot in Maplewood with a mix of both fine dining and a cool and more casual atmosphere. Food is phenomenal. You can spend a moderate to a lot of money depending on what you order, but whatever you get you will be served a more than adequate amount of food. The service and bar are fantastic and fast. The whole experience was memorable and definitely something everyone should try, we will most definitely be back again.

Rating: 4.4 Stars I was at Elmwood in early March right before the restaurants closed down and only offer takeout. I was pretty excited to order the Mafalda because it sounded unique. Our reservation was for 7:00 PM. We were seated and served waters and then took drive orders. A few members of the party ordered appetizers. I ordered the Mafalda as I planned. The waiter was very attentive to our table, constantly coming by and refilling waters and folding napkins if someone got up. Unfortunately, the food took FOREVER to come out, and we didn't get our entrees until 8:57 PM. Over the almost two hour period, my chair was bumped into probably twenty times by employees, which was fairly annoying. By the time we finally got our entrees, I was absolutely starving. The quality of the Mafalda was very good. This was my first time having vegetable bolognese, and it was quite unique and flavorful. It had a dry, charred quality to it. The noodles were quite interesting as well. I thought that mine were cooked appropriately, but one of the other guests in the party described hers as "mushy." Ultimately, I was very pleased with the quality of the meal. Unfortunately, due to the long wait for entrees, we were no longer in the mood for dessert because we didn't want to be there until midnight. Nevertheless, the food quality was good here, and I'd like to come back and try it again.

The service and food was excellent, a definite twist on a few items. But, you do pay for it as the burger was $16 and did not include a side (but very tasty)

A great place for a hip vibe, fine dining alongside a casual pizza menu.

Love this spot! Had a great time here. Cocktails were on point, if you are into a dark and moody vibe this place will be your jam!

Great restaurant! I've been getting curbside from them since the pandemic started and everything has been awesome. Got the fish sandwiches (one spicy and one non-spicy). Great. Salad. Pizza. Cookies. Burger. All great. Online ordering is easy. It's kind of expensive, so we don't get it often. But it's one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis when we have the cash for it.

Delicious. The cocktails, the food. Tried three different cocktails and they each had their own place on the menu separate from the others. The food is very eclectic and had a bunch of dishes that were foreign to me, but each one was really good. My favorite were the wagyu beef skewers. Definitely try them, especially since you don't have to order a whole plate full. You can order only one for four dollars and you will not be disappointed.

Great ambience, yummy food and attentive wait staff. The food was a little overpriced for what you get though. Burger was good - not too greasy, lots of flavor and a “normal burger” size (some of their dishes are on the smaller size) but doesn’t come with a side. The mafalda was also good, but honestly tasted like something I could make at home, so was a little disappointed with the $19 price tag. We got the cheesecake for dessert as well, and it was creamy and fluffy. Overall, a good experience - but for the menu prices, I probably won’t be going back.

10/10 Highly recommend Elmwood! Everything from the service, custom drinks and delicious food was superb! We sat at the kitchen windows and watched the chef make amazing entrees. Our waiter, Scott was phenomenal and on top of it! Chris (the owner/business partner) came by to chat and make sure everything was to our liking, which it was. After receiving our check, we headed to the recommended close bar Side Project cellar. Unbeknownst to us, we forgot our leftover—Chris hand delivered them to the neighboring bar! What service!! We will be back and wish them the best of luck!

Highly recommend eating here. Our bartender Drew was very welcoming and accommodating. We were only coming in for drinks initially (we had dinner reservations down the street) but when our dinner was sub-par, we immediately came back for more food and dessert! It did not disappoint! The food is amazing and the atmosphere and servers are very polished but approachable.

We ordered from the pizza pop-up during the pandemic. The people working there are overly kind- we had to wait about 20 minutes for our order and they were so gracious and apologetic about the wait. The pizza was so good- highly suggest the “when in Rome” and a very good portion for $20. We will definitely be going back, especially when they re-open their regular menu.

Seriously good. The food was barely exceeded by the bar and staff. David was awesome. Such a personable bar crew. Get the burger. You won’t regret it. The mussels, wagu skewers and citrus salad were also phenomenal. We hope to be back soon.
