Robata is spot on and fills a much needed void in St. Louis for a down to earth casual joint for a proper bowl of ramen. I have not tried the izakaya or sushi yet but I bet it is just as authentic as the ramen. Having lived in Sydney and travelled to Japan, I definitely missed not having a ramen house here. If they could only have soba noodles (both hot and cold) here. Great place and very nice and gracious owners and staff. Do come here.

Always have the best experience with amazing staff and the Japanese food is best in STL/Metro!

If I had any complaint, it would be that I ate too much. It is surprisingly easy to do at this restaurant. An appetizer (fried garlic), Gyu don, and sake at just over $20. With every bite full of flavor and the texture of each component cooked to perfection, I think I may need to find an apartment in the area. On my previous trip, I spent only $10 for the best bowl of spinach ramen one could ever ask for.

So glad this place is so close to my house! They have a drive threw people! Best sushi in town. With a lot of great options besides sushi. Fast service and a great staff.

This place is amazing! The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful! It was our first time so we needed a little help deciding and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food which helped in our choices! Even our 7 year old loved it!!

I'm new to the area and noticed this restaurant when I drove by. I looked it up and was so excited by the menu and rave reviews. I love the extensive vegetarian sushi options. The rolls I got were fantastic(BB roll and sweet potato tempura) and I can't wait to go back and try ramen! Only problem was my rolls kept falling apart and usually never have issues.

What an awesome experience! This is the best ramen I have had since leaving Japan! Everything was so delicious...The broth was so flavorful, noodles were the perfect texture and my favorite, the soft boiled eggs were perfectly cooked...the white was firm and yolk liquid! It's a 45-minute drive for me, but I'll be there on a regular basis!

Loved the Ramen! Rich and flavorful pork broth with perfectly cooked thick cut noodles was just what my stomach wanted! The owners were super nice and the place felt so warm and comfortable. Will definitely be back for some sushi and yakitori! Everybody was so friendly and made me feel like a welcome part of the group even though I was by myself. Good people making good food! I highly recommend!

This is our favorite place to go to for dinner after 9pm (which is more often than not). Quality food. Great price. Great service.

This is one of my favorite Stl sushi spots. I love the vibe of the interior and also love sitting on the patio. It’s purposefully redesigned from a fast food place which is funky and interesting. Ultimately the sushi is just so good that we usually end up grabbing takeout out but it’s a great place for a casual date night or for dinner with friends.

Local , small Japanese eatery. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Ordered octopus salad, 3 rolls and chicken katsu curry, which were all quite tasty. Have a nice sized patio for nice weather days. Will be back!

First time to Robata and it was great! We ordered two sushi rolls, raman, and gyu don (a rice bowl with beef). They were all so delicious! Our waitress was very attentive and had good food suggestions. Can't wait to come back and try other menu items! The place is small and quaint so if you have a larger party, I would recommend calling ahead.

An incredible local spot. Everything we tried was so good: sushi, dumplings, ramen. It's small, but they provide a lot of seating between tables and bartop space. Highly recommend the catsu curry and hot ramens.

Delicious! Put off going there because I thought it was "just another noodle place." What a big menu! Great sushi. The broiled spinach salad is tastey. My picky daughter loved everything. Looking forward to coming back and working my way around the menu. Nice staff. Great service. Love sitting at the counter.

Delicious. Small little place with an upscale feel. Giant menu with so many options. Great to munch on as you do. Outdoor seating if you've got a big group is the way to go, just a few of you pull up to the bar and watch the chefs work their magic. Or order online and drive through to pick up your food. We will be returning.

The only place in town that has onigiri (rice balls)! I love their baked salmon onigiri, pork gyoza, and Tonkotsu ramen. They serve ramen, sushi, many authentic Japanese dishes and they have a ton of fun and creative appetizers. They have a sake happy hour special each week and Monday nights they serve $8 ramen (dine-in only). You get a choice of 3 of their different ramens to choose from: Tori (chicken broth) Tonkotsu (pork broth), and a vegetarian option. It's a small cafe with a few half booth/half chair tables, some bar seats and plenty of outdoor tables. They are currently only open at night around 5pm onwards; no lunch service. They have a parking lot, so no off-street parking necessary. I highly recommend them! They also have takeout, but currently aren't using any services. You have to go there to pick up. One Piece is usually always on at the bar while you wait.

A good spot for sushi in Maplewood! I sat on the patio and it was very nice. We ordered two sushi rolls, and a few appetizers. The Kara-age (spicy fried chicken) was my favorite thing I ordered. The server was new but really tentative and she helped me choose what to order. Next time I’d like to try the ramen since I’ve heard it’s good!

Cozy, friendly service; they made us feel like locals on our 1st time. The ambience is on point- soulful music with low lighting. The menus have great descriptions & is fresh. Even though some things were out, what they had to give us still blew our minds. We be back even though it's a 30 min drive

Genuinely the best ramen I’ve had in STL area. When I walked in the gentleman was very kind and very attentive and welcomed all questions. The food was very fresh and made in the open kitchen and came to our table very quickly. Multiple times for good deals throughout the week. I would highly recommended this place to anyone! Absolutely lovely place!!!

Great ramen. And I was lucky today: they had inarizushi. This delicious morsel is a marinated fried tofu pocket filled with sushi rice. I believe it qualifies as vegan. Now open for lunch Wed-Sat. They close midday and reopen for evening. Give it a try, a great array of Japanese food.
