Hands down the best wings you'll ever eat! Fun atmosphere, great food, and awesome staff. They have everything from sweet to savory, mild heat to ungodly melt your face hot if you dare. There's so many choices its hard to wrap your head around, having tried more than 75% of them I have yet to find one that isn't good. The burgers are to die for and they regularly have limited edition wings and burgers only available for short periods of time which is a fun way to change up a regular order!
This place's wings makes BWW's wings taste like generic store bought wings. I can't describe how good they are! The Dragon's Breath were my favorite today. touch of spicy, touch of sweet, all good! Also had the Buffalo bill's, Black Widows, Reese's peanut butter cup, and kamikaze, I couldn't decide which to try next each round. I am definitely going back!
My wife and I have been coming here for over a year now and it is easily our favorite restaurant. Not only is the food amazing and creative but the owner Darin is a quality individual and will shoot the breeze with you about anything.
If you think this place is just good for wings think again.....their burgers are absolutely to die for! I get the burger with the Ben Grimm sauce on it and it is gone in less than a minute. The best part is my wife can usually never finish all of her wings so I get the best of both worlds a burger and wings.
We just tried their fries and they were nothing short of amazing hands down the best seasoned fries I have ever had.
All in all if you want an explosion of flavor in your mouth look no further than the D Spot!

Man this place is something special. As anyone could tell from their reviews their wings are just outstanding and in my opinion the best in the Twin Cities (and best I have ever had). I love the amount of variety that this place has when it comes to wing flavor. The owner has done an excellent job combining new and sometimes odd flavors to create a delicious wing. I mean where else can you buy a french toast flavor wing and for that matter where it is any good? Trust me you need to try something out of your normal here to get the full idea of how special this place is. I must say that some people complain about the changing menu but honestly I like it because it is continually offering new combinations and I like the idea of the unexpected since the flavors are that good. I find myself at this place once or twice a month, even at a half hour ride one way this place is worth it. The wings average to about $1, $1.50 but I would pay even more to get my taste buds on these bad boys. The only downside that I can see is that the place is somewhat different than your average restaurant. The location of the store is in a small strip mall and doesn't seem very inviting with their small dinning area, darker look, shared bathroom, etc. but I think it adds a lot of character considering this is a family owned restaurant. The walls have recently been repainted and are ever changing as the continue to add customer paintings which really personalizes the store with the rich colors in the details and unique drawings. I have also yet to not engage in conversation with the workers or fellow groupings as they are extremely nice and polite. I have yet to try the burgers but my fellow friends say that they are excellent as well. I would get more specific about the type of food I have ate but like I stated earlier I have tried so many that it is just easier to say you won't be disappointed with any selection. As long as this crew and store is here and open they have a dedicated following with me. I can't even go back to BWWs or order other wings anymore because they just are in a completely different, inferior league compared to these.
THIS PLACE IS A MUST!
Wing specialists! These wings are great with unlimited amount of flavor options. From sweet candy bar flavors to exotic and spicy. Spicy enough to satisfy any spicy craving and leaving you with an endorphin rush! Prices are a little spendy at about a dollar per wing however for a wing specialty shop it's worth it. About $20 per person will satisfy you. Worth a stop and try it for yourself.
This is one of the best places I have ever sat down and ate at, I know, it sounds over exaggerated, but I'm serious. I LOVE the changing menu, who wants the same thing all the time? I tried a new burger there just a week ago, two 1/4 lb patties, a nice dollop of spicy mustard and LOADED with cheese curds, it was heaven in my mouth. When my Dad and I visit the D SPOT (at LEAST once a month) we always both get a burger and split an order of wings. The burger was divine, juicy, cooked to perfection and a perfect combination of flavors that only the D SPOT can achieve. The wings, oh geez I could go on for days about how epic the wings are at this restaurant, though if i had to choose a favorite it would have to be Kamikaze, though I still have a handful more flavors to try! Even the odd sounding wing flavors are delicious, I have personally tried the PB&J (YUM), the Reese's (also yum) and so many more!! As for the layout, yes it is a bit small but I think it works perfect for what the D SPOT is. A locally owned and operated family business, and a phenomenal one at that. The owner is also a the chef and if he has time between orders he will personally come out and greet you. He is very knowledgeable and a blast to be around! D SPOT will always get 5 stars from me, keep up the great work guys!!!
I ate at D-Spot today and it was excellent. The Emma James Burger was very tasty. I also had the Pesto Wings and they were very flavorful. The owner came out to the dining room to chat. He was very nice and had a lot of stories to tell. This place is great, the food is great, and inexpensive. I can't wait to see them on the Travel Channel.
If you consider yourself a connoisseur of the chicken wing, this place needs to make your restaurant bucket list. I'm from the west side of the cities, making D:Spot a bit of a field trip, but life had us in the area so we stopped in. There is nothing special itself about the restaurant; it's a strip mall place that would be classified as a dive bar if there was a bar. That is really the only shortcoming of D:Spot; wings without beer is like a day without sunshine. But don't let that stop you from visiting.
We were blown away by the number of wing choices on the menu, I didn't count but there has to be over 70. And the recipes range from simple buffalo to very complex flavor combinations worthy of a James Beard award. It's a bit overwhelming but the men behind the counter talked us through some of their favorites, and the most popular, and we settled on 4 types. We also got a small order of fries after reading they too were some of the best in town.
After ordering, we found a table, settled in, and watched the news on a big screen TV and watched dozens of people come in and pick up orders. It seems D:Spot does a lot of take-out business, and given the sparse and simple restaurant accommodations, this doesn't surprise me. We're now kicking ourselves for not getting a couple of dozen wings to-go to bring home and freeze for future wing cravings.
The verdict: Delicious. We were torn between the Kamikaze and the Tarantula, both Asian inspired wing flavors, and ended up getting both to do a side-by-side comparison. They were both very good, although I preferred the Kamikaze better and my husband preferred the Tarantula. The Tarantula flavor profile was heavy with ginger, and ginger is not my thing which is what tipped the scales in favor of the Kamikaze. There are a few options for traditional buffalo sauce and we opted for the Buffalo Bill; buffalo sauce with chunks of blue cheese. These were delicious. The buffalo sauce had so much flavor and the blue cheese chunks gave no need for dunking the wings (I didn't check, but there didn't seem to be an option for blue cheese dressing anyway). So if you like your buffalo wings with blue cheese or ranch, then order the Buffalo Bill or the El Rancho. The Widow Maker had a unique but amazing flavor and a nice heat that sneaks up on you. We also tried the PB&J wings to be a bit more adventurous, and were surprised at how delicious these were. The peanut butter gives the wings a salty flavor and the grape reduction provides just a hint of sweetness. I don't know if I could eat more than a couple of these, but they were good. The Peanut Butter Cup wings sounded gross but were surprisingly good. The seasoned fries were crispy and flavorful, but I wish I had skipped the fries to leave more room for wings (and I love fries!).
Wings do run about $1 to $1.25 each, expensive if you are used to going to less "gourmet" places. Don't let the price keep you away. These wings have meat on their bones, not like the pathetic chickens on a diet found elsewhere. I had 6 wings and was full (but that didn't stop me from eating 3 more until I was grossly stuffed). We plan on visiting again, but will either take friends or bring them home for a party so we can try a greater number of flavors with the help of others.
On a subsequent visit we enjoyed the burgers, which were very good, but there are plenty of good burger places in the cities, but no place has wings this good.
