Local, eat here about 2-3x a month. Have not had a bad meal yet! Went out of my comfort zone and got a gyro yesterday. Excellent! Creamy garlicky tazaiki (sp) sauce, gyro meat tasted like it came off the spit. First time I didn't eat fish here. Was not disappointed~! Bavarian fish sandwich is the go-to, consistently delicious. Huge portion sizes. Big fan. Cant wait to see what the Oktoberfest specials will be like.

The oysters on the half shell call to me. My gyro was excellent and my husband's fish tacos were wonderful. Last night we had oysters I had the coconut shrimp platter which was the best I've had and he had the beef rib which was excellent. Service was prompt.

The food was wonderful. I had grouper fingers and my husband had grilled mahi-mahi. And the homemade key lime pie was killer. The market had beautiful fresh fish along with the best smoked salmon this side of Seattle. We will return.

First time there, but won't be our last. Brought in our fresh caught fish and they cooked them up for us, best fried fish I have ever eaten, the coleslaw was great and the service was wonderful. Can't wait to return home n a few months !

A must go when on Marathon Key. Family owned and operated, with fresh fish they get in every day. Cute setting taking us back to a simple Florida time in our lives - love it! My recommendation is the German sandwich! Sounds corny, but a filet of the fresh catch served on marble rye, with coleslaw and cheese - absolutely the best fish sandwich I've ever had. We cannot wait to go back, fantastic.

One of the best places in the keys to eat. I just wish they still had the coated french fries!

Wow!! Conch fritters that actually have conch (see pics), Tables open when we arrived, service friendly and quick, We had grouper fingers snd s Johnny sandwich (catch of the day, with tomato and cheese), good portions on everything. I would recommend this place, even if only to atop in on the way to Key West to get teal conch fritters. Check out the fish market, good prices, if you have a cooler.

We stopped here for lunch and what a great find! Friendly staff and delicious food. We sat outside and interacted with a lot of locals who come in to eat. Food was fresh and flavorful. Loved their conch soup and swordfish was local-caught and grilled to perfection. Would absolutely come back!

If you want fresh seafood this is the place to go. Asked several locals and this is where they told us to come. Food is fresh and cooked to order. The plate was full, took the pic after I had eaten some. You must try the homemade key lime pie. It was better than the one we had in Key West.

I am not much of seafood person so when I see other food options like this place offered I will make it a point to stop and try it. Very good food. The lasagna tasted from scratch and the bread was delicious. Husband tried conch for first time said it was different not a fan. And we had their key lime pie for the 1st time. Not a fan, the taste is a big thing for me. I tried it at least. More room for those who do enjoy it! Would stop in again.

Amazing! Small restaurant on #1 in Marathon. The food was so fresh and not "fishy" at all. They have an amazing selection of beef, sausages, and various kinds of seafood. The waitstaff was amazing. We figured out our waitress was from close to where my husband grew up as a child. The prices are really great. 2 dinners of and 2 beers was about 50 dollars. I had the fried shrimp with slaw and steamed green beans. He had the blackened Mahi with fries and slaw. The Mahi was flaky but moist and the shrimp were done to perfection and not dry. Both were amazing!

We came for the fresh fish & awesome menu options which did not disappoint, but the show stopper was the CHEESECAKE! We got the colossal which was a literal double decker of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Mine was topped with cherry but there were several choices!! my husband got the turtle cheesecake, which was nothing less than decadence on a plate too 🤤. Our Tummy’s were dangerously happy 😆… good thing we were at the END of our holiday & bathing suit bodies were not a priority! 🙃 Catch of the day was mahi-mahi & I got the sandwhich on marbled rye with lettuce tomato & American cheese. Coleslaw was perfection & homemade, (like so much of their menu!)Their fries were very good too, not the cheap filler kind. The mirrors were beautiful on the walls, and the bathrooms are clean and charming. Highly recommend.

Unexpected pleasure! Went to the market for some fresh fish. Was met with good conversation and delicious food at the local spot. The snapper and green tomatoes was outstanding. Clam chowder had a touch of lemon that made it something incredible. Hogfish sandwich was wonderful with the mashes potatoes. So glad we stopped in looking forward to dining here again!

Fish Tales Market and Eatery is a “must stop at restaurant” when in Marathon, Florida! I just had the best lunch!!! I ordered, and in the blink of an eye, my food was ready! Even during the lunch rush, the service was extremely fast and on point! I ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder which was the best I’ve ever had! I also ordered the Hogfish sandwich and the Hogfish was so fresh, also the best I have ever had! Everything from even the sandwich bun, tomato, lettuce, all so fresh and delicious! Loved the side of coleslaw , collard greens, both so delicious! This is all accompanied by a very clean restaurant, very clean restroom and a family owned business. Josh, the owner, was right there to talking to all his customers. Shawn, too! They all treat you so nice there, great customer service! Fish Tales is definitely at the top of my list!

The freshest fish, nice sized portions and no pretension. The coconut shrimp was to die for (and went quickly.) And a great hot dog as well! Incredibly priced for the high quality of food.

Fresh fish and good simple food. The interior of the place has a nice feel. A feel of old times with life. The fish is extremely fresh. The grouper fingers are very good. I rarely had fried fingers of groupers (though it is rather large fingers) but these are perfectly cooked with very fresh fish. It is truly delicious. The service is nice and prompt. A no thrill but excellent place.

Great little bit wide to stop in for a real seafood dinner. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it is worth the stop. Staff was friendly and the fried calamari was excellent. If you’re down in the Florida Keys give it a try. They also sell fresh fish you can take with you.

Excellent food and drink options. Large portions. We had the Red Snapper BLT special and Mahi Mahi blackened sandwich. New potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and red beans and rice were very, very tasty. This has been added to our ‘must visit’ restaurants. Nice diner feel. Do note that the restaurant isn’t open on Saturday and Sunday. Very friendly staff too.
