This restaurant is in a beautiful setting and while the menu is fairly simple the food is pretty good. The server that waited on is had the personality of a shoe and overall was not super fast but probably on pace with other places in the Lower Keys. The service was not enough of a detractor to make me not come back though as limited choices outside of Key West mean that something has to be pretty terrible to be completely excluded. Rating this a 4 but it would likely be more of a high 3's if Zomatos rating system were better.
Awesome burgers with a bird's eye view! Fries were excellent. This place and Hobo's are our favorite places to stop. Tried the Raspberry ale and saw other really interesting selections on the beer list. Grilled fish served with hush puppies. Lovely shaded deck with fans on the water's edge.
The perfect little "hole in the wall" place! Good music! Friendly service! Went around 5 on a Wednesday evening and was served quickly! Burgers are MASSIVE! Cooked perfectly and pretty unique! Sweetest little place, good for filling up on a good burger, listen to good music and see the beautiful view of the Keys!

This was a great back road pull off and the food was outstanding! The wait was a little much especially the kitchen was backed up! But hell it was worth the wait and we were on "Keys" time! We will return again!!
Always our first, last, and frequent stop while in the keys. When I asked the wife a month before we left what her first meal in the keys would be, there was no hesitation, "Burdine's!".
Order the fries and hush puppies as soon as you sit down, you won't be disappointed best fries anywhere, hands down. I've had pretty much everything on the menu, everything is excellent and all I under 10 bucks. Same menu and prices for dinner as lunch, which is rare down here. Top rated!!!!
One of the best. This place is really good food and atmosphere. Good burgers. The fries are fresh cut there and the order will feed 3 at least. Sit and watch the boats and enjoy a cold one. Reasonably priced and good service.
One of our Many Favorites!!!!!. Have been to Burdine's several times while on vacation. Excellent service each and every time! Very accommodating to everyone in our party. Super fresh seafood, and those homemade fries are fabulous!!!!!

BEST Food around!!!. We plan arrival/departure times around when we will be going through this area so we can stop at Burdines. They have THE BEST blackened grouper sandwich, fries (magic dust or something makes them irresistable) and fried key lime pie! AMAZING!

They were both EXCELLENT! Oh, and don't pass up the Key Lime Pie... We have been on a search for the best KLP in the Keys and we found it here at Burdine's!!!
The fries and the fried key lime pie were amazing! In fact, all of our food was delicious. The kids loves that they brought their soda in a can Koozie! The view was phenomenal! This place was worth finding even thought it is tucked back in the back a bit. Love!!'

Casual dining with good food. We're visiting Marathon for spring break and chose this restaurant based on reviews at Urban Spoon. The staff is very efficient and friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. We had a variety of dishes, but want to specifically recommend the fried key lime pie - it was amazing!
Keys Best Hamburgers. We were told this was the place for "the Key's Best Hamburgers" and they were right!

Keys Newbie. First time visitor to Marathon. First restaurant visited and it was a great choice. We sat outside to watch the sunset. I ordered the fish reuben which was terrific and my wife had the blackened fish and salad. The servers made us feel welcome and helped us with our food choices. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even better prices.
Great food, great view!!. My husband and I split a Ruben sandwich (which was their nightly special), an order of hush puppies (which were jalapeno and covered with shredded cheese) and an order of fried key lime pie. All were absolutely wonderful. We drove through some fairly seedy places to get there but once we were there the restaurant and surroundings were clean, neat, orderly, newly painted and very, very charming. The second-story view was delightful.
Outdoor dining, good food. The reviews are true. The fresh cut fries are delicious! The service here is laid back, but nice. Make this a dinner stop on your next trip.
Great Place. We stopped on our way down to Key West. Best food we ate on the entire trip. French fries are to die for! We had the angus bacon swiss burger with garlic mayo. Amazing. Service and location are also great. If you're in that area make sure you stop.
One of the best meals of my life!. I had the slider trio (bacon cheeseburger, chicken florentine burger, and shrimp burger) and a fried key lime pie. It was especially amazing after a long day of lobster diving. I'll be sure to visit again next time I'm in Marathon!
We stopped here for lunch. BBQ shrimp was great, fried shrimp fantastic and tuna melt marvelous! Also great fries and a nice view. Recommended stop.
Upstairs with a great view. Great restaurant with the best fries that my family and I have had in a long time. The wife had a delicious taco salad, my son's steak sandwich was made from shaved ribeye and was amazing and I had the best prepared (to my specs - grilled and rare) tuna sandwich ever. Both sandwiches were on fresh ciabatta. We can highly recommend Burdine's for inexpensive casual food with a view.

Good food. We ended up at Burdines, purely by chance. A guest staying at our condo suggested it. We decided to give it a try. My husband had the three cheese steak key sandwich, my son had the bacon cheeseburger and I had the grilled yellow fin tuna sandwich. We also shared a basket of the delicious fries. All of our food was excellent. Great flavor, etc, Service was great. It was busy but the 2 servers were fantastic. The highlight of my meal was the deep fried key lime pie. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing food, nice view, mediocre service. We went looking for lunch today and found this place on Urbanspoon. We had to really hunt to find it, it being hidden from the main road completely. It seemed sketchy at first, because we had to climb the stairs and walk around a bit before anyone confronted us (no one was at the bar because it was pretty slow). Sat down at a table and our first waitress (not the friendliest, to say the least) greeted us and dropped off menus. We had the fries, hush puppies, chicken ceasar pita, fish sandwich, and fried key lime pie. It all tasted amazing and so fresh! Our second and last waitress was friendlier, but a smile isn't important to me when they food tastes that good. It was probably the first time a restaurant ever tasted homemade. We plan on going back before we leave.

Burdines is one of my favorite local spots in Marathon. The view is everything you expect in the keys. The food is good (love the fries!) and the service is average. The keys are VERY laid back and sometimes that reflects in the service. You just cant expect speedy service because thats just not how many locals work down here. But if you have time to relax snd enjoy the Florida keys way of life, I recommend the place for a bite to eat. The restaurant is also dog friendly which I love!
Cheeseburgers in Paradise, ree-donculous fries!!! Gritty bikers and locals, very appropriate "Keys" flavor...will be back soon.

Waterfront view. Good food, large portions, and good prices. Nice local outdoor place on the water.
Kids Favorite. Although no kid's menu, the kid's ate the hamburgers and quesadilla's that they ordered down to the paper lining the baskets. Raved about how good it was with each bite.
I agree with them - fanastic burger, large portions, great view, and cheap to boot. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food that won't break your budget. The food here was excellent. We got fried fish, fish sandwich, fried chicken basket, fried shrimp basket and the Sesame Tuna salad. The only thing that was just ok were the fried shrimp, but for the price it was pretty decent. The fried fish was OUTSTANDING and the fried chicken was both plentiful and tasty. The biggest surprise was the seared tuna, as it was incredible and it really did come of mixed greens (no romaine in sight! woo hoo!) The fish was fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and pleasant. The view was beautiful and we saw dolphins in the channel while we were eating. lovely spot.

great burger, BUT the fries are from heaven, the best I have ever had hands down. Friendly service, and you can watch the boats go in and out of the harbor.

Love Burdines. They make a great Arnold Palmer and hand squeeze the lemon juice. They also have great wraps. I had the chicken spinach and goat cheese. Excellent place to get gas and ice for the boat.

Away from it all. Burdines Waterfront is an easy place to grab a bite and fill up the boat, as you are coming in the marina from a long, hard day on the water.
One of our favorite things to do is to filet our catch-of-the-day and hand over our ziplock bag of fresh fillets to the chefs. They will fry up your own fish for you, and at no cost! Talk about customer service!
Their fish and chicken sandwiches are good, and I really like their basket of fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and slaw.
At night it is a bit trickier. They don't have any beer on tap. The live music still makes it fun though. Still, the hours are limited, and as with so many places in the Keys, and they close early.
Warning: this is not the place to try to find if you are passing through the Keys. it is off the beaten path, and easier to find from the water. Just know it is Oceanside...look for the signs, and follow them carefully through the maze.
Hunt this place down!. You may have to search to find it, but it's worth the effort. The food was terrific and the prices were very reasonable. We had a party of 7 and everything came out quickly and well prepared. The baskets of fries are great, and enough for 3-4 people.
Cheeseburger in Paradise. Charlie Trotter's it ain't. But if you are looking for a laid back joint for a juicy cheeseburger and terrific fries (one basket feeds four) then this is your spot. Prices are reasonable, the wait staff friendly, the beer is cold, and the early evening breeze (even at the end of June) all provide a nice respite at the end of the day.
Fries. View.. That's all you need to know. Have a beer, order the terrific french fries, then kick back and enjoy the scenery: do it! Don't leave the lower Keys without a visit here.

Amazing find, more of a locals bar and not touristy. Food was incredible, great selection of beers, the staff so so friendly, and best of all the location is unbelievable with a great sunset view. Not to forget their key lime pie which was better than any we tried in key west!
The clerk at the local Walgreens recommended Burdines. He wasn't wrong! It was a little tricky to find, but so worth it! You have to go upstairs or take a little elevator. It's all open overlooking the water. The staff was incredible! Very friendly, helpful and fun. Our food was amazing! Mahi Mahi and Shrimp cooked perfectly and the fried Key Lime Pie was outstanding!
Perfect place to unwind after a beach day. Took the kids here and the food did not disappoint. Staff was friendly. Nice view of the mangroves from upper deck of the building.

You access the deck by stairs or an outside elevator. We were seated in a shaded area (requested) with a great view. Our server was great! We ordered the Mahi and Shrimp platter with hush puppies. Dessert was Fried Key Lime Pie.
We discovered this place by looking up “dog friendly” since we had our lab with us. The food was reasonably priced, especially for the big portions. They do offer beer and wine but not cocktails. They have a dock if you are coming by boat, and had lots of tables for big parties.
We were at Burdines twice while visiting Marathon. Both times were good experiences. The beverages were cold, the burgers fries and fried key lime pie were delicious. The view ain't bad either.
BEST FRIES EVER!!!! I love Burdines, one of my favorite spots in Marathon, especially if I can pop in there by boat. Super affordable food on the water, you can’t ask for more. The fries are a must. The dolphin sandwich is my go to when I’m there, but everything the have is so good. The hush puppies are another hidden gem, covered in cheese with the raspberry sauce, so good.
Very friendly service and as for the food we came here with the fried key lime pie recommended to us.
All I have to say is wow was that delicious. I don't eat dairy unfortunately since it doesn't like me but looking at that pie made it impossible to not break my dairy rule. It looked at tasted amazing and was worth the consequences. I only had a few bites so that I didn't push my luck but my wife loved the rest of it. I would absolutely eat this again as a dairy treat.
Eric was awesome. Get the chips and salsa. The salsa is OK but the chips are homemade and AMAZING. And they have Monk in the Trunk. My only worry is the stairs... Have too many and it's a challenge to leave. Is that by design?
UPDATE: I didn't realize they have an elevator! My fiance had one to many drinks and Eric suggested the elevator. OMG. Life saver! He's the best.
This was our first visit to Burdines. It’s typical Marathon atmosphere. Went went while it was overcast and rainy. It wan’t crowded. We were served quickly and we were not rushed. We had fried shrimp and mahi mahi. The fries we absolutely the best. Just as described, best fries in town. In reality the hush puppies were the quiet winner. VERY GOOD! The shrimp were good. The mahi was a little over cooked. The fried Key Lime Pie was unique and worth a try. Since this is off the beaten path, you won’t find it unless you are looking for it. Definitely worth going back and should be a regular Marathon stop.
We enjoyed our lunch at Burdines. Great view and a perfect spot to have lunch.

Burdine's is on our annual lunch/dinner stop each time we travel to Key West. We enjoy our waterfront dining experience of freshly prepared food under a genuine tiki roof. The beer is always cold, the fries are freshly cooked. The people are always friendly.
Once you make that turn on 15th, do not be phased by the sometimes interesting sights along your sometimes bumpy ride back to the waterfront at Burdine's.
Believe me,
it is worth the ride.

We went for lunch, about a dozen folks in line… we were seated in less than 5 minutes. We had the Maui sandwich and Maui Rueben, both were excellent, good portions, tasted very fresh. Took about 10 minutes to get our food. Server VERY friendly. Fries were great, three of us shared one order. I would definitely recommend this place. They serve beer and wine, no hard booze. Great location, good view out the harbor, boat traffic passes by. A manatee swam by. Good keys feel to the place, all seating is outside, most tables are shaded.
Fun hidden gem in Marathon Key! Recommended by a local for lunch! Amazing vibe great service and delicious food! Grab the hush puppies for an app and the fried Key lime Pie for dessert! You won’t be disappointed!
Fantastic little hideaway recommend by the car rental company. The burgers are fabulous and probably the best French Fries we've ever had! Nothing fancy whatsoever but the food and service are worth the visit. Best description is "redneck yacht club".
Great place with nice water views. Be aware that Google maps will send you to the next road over and I guess you are supposed to swim over from there. Use your eyes when you get close. :)
