Marfa has several local coffee shops to choose from but I highly recommend checking out Do Your Thing! I had a flat white with oat milk which was excellent. They also have several speciality toasts that I will have to try on my next visit. The shop itself is also very cute and located in a very unique building & that has great seating inside and outside the shop. We will definitely be back on our next trip out to West Texas.
The one woman band running this little spot when we were here over the weekend was such a sweetheart. I would have waited an hour for my coffee she was so nice and welcoming. The coffee was also great and I loved the little spot it’s in. Best place in marfa hands down. Skip the sentinel don’t collect 200 and go straight here.
Ordered a flat white and a horchata latte. Both were amazing. I was expecting good coffee based on my experience with the coffee at the Gage Hotel in Marathon, TX (from a roaster out of Marfa), but this sleek, upscale coffee shop in an unassuming historic lumberyard) delivered above and beyond my expectations. I would return again and again, if only I lived a little closer.
Staff is Really friendly! (I think she might be the owner?! ) It’s a one woman show and she does a great job! Coffee is really good and her niche is toasts ( which are so delicious!) worth the wait! Support them locally by buying their merchandise! Must try!
Every single toast they serve is out of this world, that bread 🤤
Service is spectacular, drinks are delicious and venue is absolutely adorable. We ALWAYS stop here when we are in Marfa. Don’t miss out, order one of each toast if you can!
My first visit was a black coffee and the Purist toast. Delicious!! I could taste the organic beans, smooth and mellow. The Purist toast was a delicious chunky slice of sourdough bread , i chose the olive oil, that tasted as if I were in San Francisco. I cant wait to go back again and try something else with another slice of sourdough.
What an amazing little shop in Marfa! I was there for a 3 day trip and every morning was a coffee and toast from Do Your Thing. Everything was awesome, from the atmosphere to the food to the staff. I had the pleasure of interacting with Mack, G (I’m so sorry if I spelled your name wrong!), and Lauren. They were all incredibly kind and easy to talk to.
The Solidarity toast is a must, even if you don’t like tahini, you can barely taste it. It’s so good, and the sourdough bread is phenomenal. The thick cut slices with any topping is a great little breakfast treat. I tried 3 different of their “signature” drinks; the honey spice, horchata, and Mexican mocha. The honey spice was by far my favorite, but I also like very sweet coffee.
All in all, make sure Do Your Thing is on your list of places to visit in Marfa, you definitely won’t regret it!
We visited this place on a weekend trip to Marfa about 2 months ago and loved it!! The shop is so nice and cozy, the staff is super friendly and the food and coffee is SO DELICIOUS!! Get the avocado toast with the tomato and cream cheese on it!! Wish they had a shop in Austin. Will definitely be back again whenever we are in Marfa.
