Shavedway subs is a small sandwich eatery with great service and big taste. As you enter you'll notice this definitely qualifies as a local, family-owned establishment. The walls are decorated with various sea themed, south Florida items and the environment is kept very clean.
The two young gentlemen behind the counter we're friendly and eager to take my order. The menu is located above the cashier counter and contains a good assortment of subs priced reasonably well from $8-10. I decided to get a large (12 inch) sub with various meats and BBQ. I was dining in so I grabbed the nearest seat as I waited. The food is prepared freshly behind the counter and took about 5-6 minutes. Once completed, the server brought the sandwich out to me, served in a plastic basket.
The sandwich was pressed, hot, and cut diagonally into three pieces. This may seem trivial but I love it when I order a notably large sandwich and they take the time to cut it appropriately. Not only is it easier to eat but something about the crunch of the corner of fresh bread is satisfying. The sandwich was a true foot long and was packed with plenty of meat, cheese and sauce. It could have used more BBQ and was missing that tangy kick that I've grown accustomed to but that's a minor complaint. Overall the food was great.
This place is somewhat small (narrow is more accurate) so seating is somewhat limited. There are multiple tables lined up along the hall and towards the front. Each table seats two people, so while this is suitable for dining with a few friends, large groups may find it problematic to sit together. If you want a fresh sub that will undoubtedly satisfy even the hungriest of gluttons, stop by for lunch.
Let me start off by saying the turkey sandwich I ordered was delicious! The NY style cheesecake I had after also tasted great. When it comes to customer service, the guy behind the counter wearing the dolphins hat is a very nice guy and he was very welcoming when I mentioned it was my first time there. The prices were reasonable and as an added bonus, they also accept Apple pay which is a huge plus for me personally. I'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try the other subs they have.
Nice little subshop with delicious sandwiches which you can get hot and pressed if you like and they also have New York cheesecake that is homemade and homemade cookies as well. I had the large oatmeal cookie today and it was really good but you will have to break it into pieces if you want to dunk it in some milk because it is really big, lol.
Good sandwiches! Been here many times over the past 6 years and the sandwich is consistent. Meats are fresh and tasty. Good pricing as well. Always looking for good sandwich spots down here and this is a good one.
Margate's best kept secret. I came across this gem by coincidence and decided to try it. I was craving tuna and it's hard to find a good tuna sub in this area. The sub tasted Amazing and ingredients were fresh. I will definitely be back. My new favorite lunch spot.
Stopped by on my way to the Keys. So so good! Tasty and fresh. The owner is also so friendly and sweet. Definitely recommend!!
Nice sub shop! We had the turkey cuban and the grilled chicken sub.
I love how the mother and father both work together and get your meals out on time. Their sauces are made with great ingredients and effort. I would definetly come here for one of their amazing subs.
Subs were so good didn't even have a chance to take a picture! Had the Italian and meatball sub. The meatballs are homemade and you can really taste it. The potato salad was also delicious. Will be back soon!
WOW ill start there! Im Connecticut originally and we call our subs grinders and they are wrapped in foil. Once i opened the box of my best meatball sub/grinder ever and saw the foil i started to tear up! They sub was amazing , like the meatball was cooked with love not just some thrown together BS. Best Meatball sub in world!
This dad and daughter duo were a pleasure to meet. Everything is made fresh. I loved my sub the bread was so soft and delicious the meat was wonderful. I’ll be a regular moving forward the customer service is a amazing.
If you are looking for an authentic, genuine, high quality, small family business to support, look no further. Kenny, the owner, is so passionate and dedicated; you can tell he pours his heart and soul into everything he does and makes. As soon as you walk into the shop, it smells delicious from all of the food that is cooking. Kenny is a great cook, and has amazing meats, sandwiches, salads, desserts, along with his own line of soups and sauces. Denise was very knowledgeable and made the sandwiches beautifully. Everything was superb, and we will definitely be back! I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area!
The owner knows very well how to run a good business, and mind you, the food industry is not an easy field to operate in; the resteraunt is always clean, the store front/inside is never bland, never dull, cute signs here and there, and decorations that give off a happy vibe. The menu has bountiful options and wide variety, from subs, to salads, to sandwhiches and even over ten types of different cookies plus very much more! The girl there that I always order and get my food made from is such a sweetheart and never fails to make me smile and the owner is very nice, affable and helpful. My new spot to enjoy good conversation and good food. Shavedway Subs!
Me and my mom bought 3 subs from shavedway this afternoon to take advantage of their incredible Buy-3-Get-1 May special and were blown away!! Fantastic subs with incredibly high-grade, fresh ingredients. The customer service was SO very pleasant, and we're very happy to have found a local place we can go to!! Thank you guys, you have some very loyal customers from now on. ☺
My FAVORITE local sub shop in Margate!!! Great service, always fast & fresh. They also have specials daily! If you love a great sandwich/sub this is THE place to go around here. I literally eat here 2-3 days a week. 5 stars. All day. Every day. Thank you!!!!
I've had their subs off and on the past few years and people have been sleeping on this place. Yes the owners have changed twice but much of what makes it a great (fresh ingredients and friendly service) still exists.
I often order the Italian and Tuna. They also have pressed sandwiches, deli sandwiches, soups, wraps and all that I've had has been fresh and tasty. These are big boy/big girls subs so have an appetite.
Unlike the shop in coral springs that specializes in "hoagies", Shavedway stands alone with variety and sincere customer service. The owner is there and the place is not run by others who do not value their customers.
Best place in town by far for subs. He even makes the Cuban sandwiches better than Cubans I'd say. But don't take my word for it go and try it out yourself you won't be disappointed!!!!
