First: we tried to come for brunch yesterday at 1pm and were disappointed to hear that, despite the posted hours of being open until 2pm, they were closed. So, we came for brunch today, around 11am, and were seated almost immediately. Now, the food: we were blown away by the meal we had. We had the schnitzel with venison gravy, over easy eggs, and country potatoes, and coffee. The food came out quickly, the portions were generous (I joked it could feed a family of four, but honestly the average person could probably split the meal between two), and it was incredibly delicious. The service was efficient, responsive, and friendly. For those who had a disappointing experience, I really hope you give this place a second chance, because I am soooo glad we did!

OMG yum, a great local kolsch and bottled German black beer. Cute atmosphere and really good food. Maybe crazy but I really enjoyed the salad.

I got their benedict. It tasted good but it would have been much better if they had added some vegetables as a side. Their schnitzel that my friend ordered and let me try tasted good too!

Make a reservation, it’s worth it. We got lucky and we’re seated without it. The schnitzel was extremely good. Perhaps better than I remembered having in Bavaria. Give this place a try, it’s worth it for sure.

A small German restaurant with fantastic food. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of German beer as well. Great place with great food!

Oh what a fun place to dine! It’s been a few years since I have eaten here, and I’m happy to say it was just as good. I had the special of the day- Flank steak with chimichurri sauce, polenta and asparagus my companion had the pork schnitzel and house made spatzel and red cabbage. Loved the homemade pretzel and delicious salad. Nice wine selection and excellent service.

This place deserves more than five stars! It was so delicious! We started with refreshing drinks and finished with a three course dinner. The pretzel with beer cheese was divine. The salad was fresh and tasty. The main dish was soooo good!! I only wished it was closer to my house!! It is also located in an old building (bank?) that had character of itself. The restaurant decor and murals were also fabulous! Just go!!!

I would give Steinhaus 10/5 stars if possible. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. The food is absolutely fabulous and well executed. The vibe is upscale yet not pretentious. The service was kind and caring with great attention to detail. They are representing German food and beverage perfectly. Will plan to return again on my next trip to Marquette.

Amazing, authentic German food!! My husband had the Jagerschnitzel and I had the Bratwurst. The entrees are a 3 course meal with authentic pretzel and salad. Our food was delicious!! And our server was polite and friendly. We will be back!

It doesn't feel like a German restaurant but it tastes like one. 😋 If they didn't deep fry their Schnitzel I'd give them 5 stars for food. A lighter breading pan fried would be more on point, but the red cabbage, spatzle, and pretzel were on point.
