This food is wild (that gravy-wow!) And unique Mexican food that I think is divine. It is NOT that same-o same-o mexican ho hum fare at most area mexican restaurants. The big feast dinner is amazing. Their portion size makes so you can take some home to enjoy later. Yum! Guy Fieri should come here. It is different, it is good eats! Wish you had a location in Battle Creek. Come and celebrate Cinco de Mayo!
I have eaten this food since 1982. Love the food and especially the staff.
The food is always the same. Perfect every time. The service is quick and cheerful and the food is delivered quickly to your table. It's the best mexican food in the Marshal-Battle Creek area.
Easily my favorite Mexican Restaurant on Earth.
...same order since Emilio was in the kitchen:
1Beef, 1Cheese Enchilada-no onion,
Order of re-fried beans and an Avocado Salad...
with an ice-tea to keep the heat of their awesome "gravy"
down to a lite simmer. Lol
I've traveled the globe an have never found an equal to the beef-minced potato mixture.
In short:
This menu has flavors that bring you back, even if that requires a long flight and a cab ride !
Great place for real Mexican food. They carry on the tradition of the old restaruant when it was in Battle Creek.
The legend of Emilio lives on! The top stop in Marshall for me when I get back home! Everyone is loved like family here. It is some of the best and most authentic Mexican food I have ever had from Laredo, TX to New York City to southern Ontario.
The best Mexican restaurant the best food, Brian is the best waiter.

I have been going to Oye amigos for as long as i can remember and we still make it a tradition to go atleast once a month. The food is always fantastic and the staff is great, always has been. The best service in a restaurant i have ever had as been at oye amigos. In my family we still call it Amilios
A little hole in the wall mom and pop shop that will more than fill that hunger in your tummy without putting a hole in your wallet! Very friendly staff, tasty food, good atmosphere at a great price. That’s a good combo in my book!
My buddy got some kind of combo plate. I ordered a Mexican Pizza with the spicy gravy. The presentation isn't the best, but taste is what matters. They definitely nail it! This is some tasty food! Bring cash. They don't take credit cards.
Tex-Mex. I have eaten at this location for thirty years, and love it. Original recipes from Emilio Gomez, who operated a restaurant in Battle Creek for 25 years. Not exactly vegan friendly, lard is used in many recipes, but we all love the Gravy & Buttered Tortillas.
Just go food is wonderful. Ya, the style of food is a little different, but it tastes great, very delicious. Staff is awesome, really nice, and down to earth. I've been there 50, maybe a 100 times, and never one time have I had a bad meal or an unhappy experience. One small issue a patron paying the bill might want to know in advance is American Empress, Visa or Master Card are not accepted. Old style, cash is King establishment, they do get alot of business, so if you forget your cash, washing the dishes might be an option. Just teasing! Just remember, cash only. Great place just go enjoy
You get a LOT OF FOOD for a REALLY LOW price!!! I live in Florida, and this restaurant is in Michigan, so there are definite differences. The first difference is the seasoning of the ground beef... I am NOT implying in ANY WAY that it wasn't good. It's just different than what I'm used to. I am used to AUTHENTIC Mexican food, so that could be the whole issue. The other differences were the tortilla chips (served with salsa as an appetizer). I'm used to thin, light, and airy chips, and theirs appear to be made in-house, and they are thicker than I'm used to. The 3rd difference is that they provide you with tortillas, so you can put your dinner inside them and roll them up like a burrito or a quesadilla, which is an AWESOME idea. They serve them in a basket and place them on the table for all to share. The waitress even went 1 step further and asked if we wanted 1/2 flour tortillas & 1/2 corn tortillas or 1 or the other. My sister, who comes from Arkansas, also noticed these same differences. The restaurant does not serve any alcohol, which is the only other difference. I hope this helps.
SO GOOD!!! Great place to go when you want Mexican, very good for dinners, and not too popular for how good they are. Truly the best Mexican in town, and they're employees are so nice. 10 out of 10 and will definitely keep eating there.
We did dinner. I had chicken enchiladas my wife a chicken enchilada and a taco. The food was quite good and plentiful. We also ordered extra tortilla chips and they were horribly greasy and we ended up throwing them out. Yuck. It seemed to me they were deep fried in oil that wasn’t hot enough.
A taste of a lifetime worth of memories. There is no other comparison to this food. So glad that Emilio s tacos and green sauce live on.
Simple place, with kind owners, and great food you will not get anywhere else, this place has been a family staple for decades. Consistent and reasonable. We love it here!
I've loved the food here since it was Emilio's in Battle Creek. It's my standard for Mexican food, which is rarely met in other establishments.
Theres lots of regulars. Everyone loves the restaurant and they all have a favorite dish. One taco is a plate of delicious food
I have been coming to Emilio's since I was a baby in a high chair. BEST FOOD EVER. If you've never been there before ask for a sample because their food is different it's not traditional run-of-the-mill Mexican food
Food is amazing.. anything and everything on the menu it's great
This place is cash only. Knownthat before ypu go. This restaurant has been a staple in my hometown for years! I recently ate there for the first time since being back. It is probably the best Mexican style place around. The food is fantastic! The gravy there is great. Spicy, but I enjoy that. They have a house Verde sauce that they put on the table. It is spicy, seems like something they make there in house. I would recommend this place to anyone who either lives here or is just visiting. I had the chicken chimichanga, and a tamale.
Absolutely the best food ever and the service was so wonderful. My sister had told me about this place. I had never eaten there so we stopped in on our way home from a road trip. The waitress was kind enough to let me have a little taste of each item so that I knew what I was purchasing before I ordered. I traveled home with it 2 hours so that my husband could taste everything I had ordered. Everything was so good my hats off to the chefs and the waitstaff. The beans, burritos, rice you name it it was all great. I will definitely be back. When they tell you it's spicy they mean it's spicy!
