Hollie, with Sweet Monkey, provided the catering for our wedding this passed weekend. We can’t say enough good things about working with her! Hollie was wonderful at communicating back and forth and putting together a menu for the wedding that was absolutely perfect! She provided us with items for cocktail hour, and while guests were raving about the dip she made, seeing firsthand the joy on a friends face with her cheese sauce said more than words could. Dinner was a perfect taco bar and accompanying sides. All that, plus she was so extremely professional and kind both before and during the wedding. You could do no better working with Hollie and Sweet Monkey for your catering or just stopping by her location for a meal! Thank you so much for a wonderful time, Hollie!
A MUST EAT/ MUST BOOK CATERER!! We used Sweet Monkey at my grandmothers 80th surprise party. The food was a HUGE HIT! No one left hungry, nor did they leave craving something because their pallets weren’t pleased. The 3 main course, fresh salad & bread rolls followed by 3 beautiful desserts, AH-STINKING-MAZING! Can’t wait to have our next event prepped by Holly at Sweet Monkey. Holly was so sweet, understanding of what we wanted and set up & broke down like a boss. We are so thankful for your skills and friendliness Holly.
We used Sweet Monkey for a Celebration of Life service. Because we were in a mourning state, I feel like I provided very little direction, but Hollie did better than reading my mind and created a menu that was as visually appealing as it was tasty. We recommend without hesitation!
I work on Main Street and have been to Sweet Monkey many times. I've tried a wide variety of items from their menu. They have excellent food that's at a level and quality far above what you'd expect to find in little Marshall. Fresh ingredients, local when possible, large portion sizes, all delicious. Good beer and wine menu. The atmosphere is nice and they have screened in outdoor eating now. Kids are welcome and there's some toys to keep them occupied while you wait. Bathrooms are clean. Staff is always nice and attentive.
The one caveat is that this is real food, made after you order it, and it's a small staff, so the wait times can be a little long. The food is well worth the wait, so just get a drink, grab a seat and hang out for a while. If you're in a rush, this is not the place.

Sweet Monkey/Hollie did desserts for our marriage + baby celebration – the first time we were able to have all of our friends and family together post-COVID. She provided a huge spread of desserts at an incredibly reasonable price point, and everything was delicious. Since I am clueless and love all desserts, she helped me narrow things down and asked thoughtful questions about dessert displays, kid favorites, etc.
We ended up with her amazing carrot cake, pumpkin cheesecake bars (out of this world and might have unseated the cake as my favorite thing she makes), cranberry-apple roulade, pecan pie, and chocolate pudding (with graham crackers on the side). We opted for pick-up instead of catering, and she made the process really easy. Bonus: She was just lovely to work with! I'd highly recommend Sweet Monkey for your dessert needs. She helped make the day unforgettable. (Oh yeah, and her savory food is also really great!).

Custom cake created and accommodated my natural flavoring allergy. The cake was amazing! I butchered it due to excitement, but imagine a pure vanilla flavor cake with a perfect cake “crust”, and in the icing was chunks of edible cookie dough! Decorated with... you guessed it! Fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Only bad thing was having to drive from Kingsport, TN to NC to pickup the cake. Why can’t there be a Sweet Monkey in Johnson City, TN? Or at least a bakery that’s willing to use ingredients without “natural flavorings” and other food additives? Food business people take note: without solid customer service you lose customers, without customers you’ll lose your business. This is why I will happily drive from another state to get great food and exceptional service.
Hollie doesn’t treat customers the way she wants to be treated, she treats them the way they want to be treated.

I will say up front - best pizza ever. I still have dreams about it and drool at the thought. Everyone in our group agreed the food was worth every penny we paid. The night we were there the menu included Ribeye and Cornish Game Hen - both were outstanding. The sides and plating are great as well. Staff was super friendly and it was pretty cool to watch the food being prepared in the open kitchen. The decor is very kitschy and while the seating is not comfortable, its acceptable. Only a couple of things keep it from 5 stars. They are understaffed for the amount of traffic that they get. Slow food preparation is fine, waiting long periods to place an order or get drinks is a little harder to deal with. The friendliness makes up for this and keeps the 4 stars. We loved the open doors, but it does make for a LOT of flies buzzing around. And finally, at some point during our meal the staff took a smoke break out back. Normally no biggie, I'm sure it was a stressful night. But with the open doors in front and back it blew the smoke thru the restaurant and across our table and was not pleasant. Despite that, it is a place I highly recommend (if you are patient and have the time) and I will DEFINITELY go back!
We got cakes here for our kids birthday parties and they were awesome and a great price! I got compliments all evening on them and tons of people asked where we got them from!
I wish I would have taken a photo before I took them to the party as they shifted on me due to the heat. But they were perfect and so easy to work with! Highly recommend!
This place is ahmazing, deliciousness on Main St in Marshall. Servings are large enough to satisfy the healthiest appetite. Hollie loves to create tantalizing and tasty food. I have tried her chicken salad ~yum, shrimp&grit delicious, cakes, cookies all tasted great. Today I picked up the chili, as well as the potato soup both came with a bread bowl. I know they too will be wonderful. Looking forward to many more affordable and delicious food from her. These times are tough on small businesses, yet there she is day in and day out with a wonderful attitude and great tasting food. Supporting her is a pleasure because her foods are deliciousness in spirit and soul!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner here! We sat near the open kitchen so that we could chat with the chef while she cooked.
The pizzas looked amazing, but we couldn't resist the specials for the evening and chose 2 plates to share. The ribeye was one of the most tender pieces of beef I ever had. The pork tenderloin was juicy and unbelievably flavorful.
I can't wait to go back!
