Best shaved ice place. The ice is like soft snow in your mouth which makes it so good. I got cherry, lime and blueberry which was amazing. To top it off, the ice cream at the bottom was so smooth and tied everything together.
I think about this shave ice at least once a week — it was so good!!! I got mine topped with the Li Hing Mui Powder which was the best decision I could have made — it gave it a savory touch and really rounded out the flavors. My tip would be to keep an eye on the line (it can get very long) and grab some shave ice when it goes away!
This shave ice parlor is located near the beach behind the Hyatt Regency hotel in Maui. They have a large variety of flavors and toppings. It's one of the best ice cream treats I have ever had.
Delicious!!! Gourmet. Super-soft shave ice, many delicious flavors, GF mochi topping was soft and yummy. Also great vegan cream topping! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Best shaved ice in Maui! We tried several shaved ice places when we were in Maui—this was our favorite. I got the sunset with macadamia nut ice cream and a sno cap. It was so good! 😋
We love their shave ice. All of the flavors we’ve tried have been delicious and there are so many to choose from. I love the lilikoi. We always get the macadamia nut ice cream on bottom and it’s delicious! This location is great since you can enjoy it while looking out at the water.
They have the best shave ice. The staff is so nice. I ordered the No Ka Oi with a snow cap, macadamia nut ice cream and adzuki beans. It was worth the wait.
First time at Ululani's!!
I got the coconut lovers shave ice with snow cap and fresh Mochi.
Beautiful presentation and the taste of the shave ice was so smooth!!
I did feel like it was lacking in flavor though. :(
Excited to try it again with a different flavor!
Coconut, Pina colada, and tigers blood with macadamia nut ice cream! It was refreshing and tasted great. We got there right at 11 am and had no wait. Did the penguin feeding and wildlife tour at the Hyatt before and it landed us right by Ululanis!
Delicious! We're staying at another hotel but we took the free Kaanapali trolley to the Hyatt stop to try this shave ice. You have to eat it fast before it melts, which wasn't hard because it was so tasty. Be sure to ask for the powder on top because I thought it was a default topping and it wasn't! Hopefully I'll have time to come back and get the full experience.
The shop is still open. I don't see any sign that says it's closed indefinitely. The shave ice is delicious. I got the macadamia nut ice cream with mochi on top. I bought their sticker right after I ate the shave ice.🙌
Since it’s my first shave ice in Hawaii, I can’t say it’s the best but I personally really liked it. The macadamia ice cream base was a great choice. Also kid size is still quite big.
All the tables were taken so we decided to head over to the beach to enjoy this treat.
Very impressive shave ice! I thought it would be a snocone but the consistency is very smooth and with the condensed milk topping it becomes very creamy! "The best" was the best to us : coconut, passion fruit, and mango. Normally I love coconut but the passion fruit was best. Try adding some rum to the leftover liquid for a great drink! Price ranges from $5-8 without topping.
One of the best places to try the famous ice shavings in Hawaii at Maui island.
We tried 2 of the most famous combos - one called the night sunset which is great but the must try is the coconut flavour with coconut shavings and condensed milk.
This is inside Hyatt resort but there is free parking on the back side of the hotel where you can park for free and head inside.
This small ice shaving outlet is right across the pool and the restaurants.
Excellent shave ice. No trip to Hawaii is complete without it. When the sun feels almost unbearable, an ice cold, sweet dessert is practically essential. When the flavors are natural and made in-house, you can't go wrong.
We shared the Ulu (medium) size ($5.99) and got it with mango and strawberry. I don't remember much about the flavors. They were sweet. What I do remember is that the texture was so smooth and a bit creamy, possibly softer than any other shave ice I have ever had. We also added Haupia flavored Roselani ice cream (+$1.75) and the Snow Cap (sweetened condensed milk) drizzled on top ($+0.75). After tip, that's about $10 for dessert. For that price, it is indeed a treat. The add-ons got me. But hey, it's Hawaii, get the treats.
Warning - all other "ice" desserts will suffer once you have had Ululani shave ice. Their machines turn out what amounts to creamy-textured snow with deep amounts of flavor regardless of which direction of tastes you choose. The straw technique ensures you never run out of flavor and highly recommend the ice cream at the bottom. Prepare to abandon the slushy, icee or any other shave ice proprietors - this will become your only option going forward. Do not leave Maui without at least one.
Mind blowing how good this shaved ice is! My husband and I had a different place’ shaved ice the day before and had no idea it was less than mediocre until trying Ululani’s shaved ice! We are now obsessed and will probably be going everyday for the rest of our trip! Don’t go anywhere but here!
As good as I heard it was! Fortunately got there before the line was long. Red velvet with snow cap and coconut was fun and delish!
Best shave ice you will ever have! The ice is so finely grated. The flavors taste like real fruit flavors, compared to other places that just use sugar syrup flavors. I wanted to eat their shave ice every single day!
