This place delicious sushi my favorite is the sexy roll wrapped in soy paper I love their creamy cream cheese crab wontons and if you get those make sure you get the dumpling sauce it's perfect
Love the food!!. Finally a place my husband and I can enjoy together. I love sushi, he hates it but loves Chinese...so Coast is the perfect place for us. The food is absolutely delicious! However, the service not so great. But I can handle poor service if the food is worth it. Coast food is definitely worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love It!. Every time I have dinner at Coast Is turns out to be a very enjoyable experience. Not only do they have great Chinese food and sushi but they have a very cool bar. I always have lot of fun here. The employees are very friendly and the owners are always there. A must try!
I just had a great lunch. Service is excellent and the sushi is the best in the RGV. My new favorite sushi restaurant .
Best Chineese Food. I loved their food, everything is delicious and has a very original Taste. Ambience is great! Also has very reasonable prices. Great Job!
Interesting Mix. After visiting the restaurant more than 10 times in the past 6 months, I can thoroughly say I have not been displeased with service or food quality.
At first impressions, the restaurant seemed a cross between Hayashi and Le Lai with only slightly different variations on things.
The ambiance is great; the decor is modern and Asian - inspired throughout. Full service bar with great happy hour specials everyday (Mango martini!)
The food quality has seemed to steadily be on the upswing. Items from the sushi bar have consistently been of high quality.
The Uni (Sea Urchin) shot is absolutely amazing for an incredibly reasonable price. Three pieces of uni in lime-soy mix topped with scallions and a quail egg.
The Rainbow Salmon Tartar is another great starter. Tossed in the House sauce and topped with ripe mango and served with fried wonton chips.
The sushi has consistently been of good quality at moderate prices. From California rolls to Lobster Tempura rolls to a sushi boat, I have thoroughly enjoyed the quality and preparation.
Noodle dishes are mediocre. Depending upon which type of noodle is being used. Some dishes have thick noodles which tend to stick together; a major pet peeve of mine.
The beef dishes are excellent. The beef is consistently tender; perhaps from a braised cooking.
Thai Tom Yum (Hot Thai soup) is excellent though at times lacks a full helping of lemongrass/lime leaves and chili in the broth.
Fried Ice cream should be applauded for its attempts at novel gastronomic techniques with the use of liquid nitrogen but overall the fried panko exterior was difficult to get into and eat along side the still frozen ice cream center; thereby almost defeating the purpose.
The best Asian Bistro for the price!. I love coming here because they have a great selection of food. They cover the main Chinese dishes and a good Japanese sushi. Some dishes here are only to be found at this restaurant. They have one of the best "happy hour" deals in town. They have great happy hour beers, drinks, wings and sushi for an unbeatable price.
The cons: Sushi portions are not very big. Waiters are a bit slow. Take out quality sucks.
Suggestion for owners: Change the design of your logo and the name of the restaurant. It doesn't invite people. But once you go in you are in for a pleasant surprise.
Thre service was great and the food was good. To me, i enjoyed the egg drop soup very much but the crispy lemon chicken had no taste. My parents loved it and i sure did enjoy the vibe there.
This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great decor.. the lunch specials Monday through Friday are great.. it cones with the works. They have happy hour specials that are great deals glasses of wines for $4 and $ 1.50 beer they have them from 3 to close it is a great place to watch games.
Coast Asian Bistro (956) 630-9599 7100 N. 10th St. McAllen, TX 78504. The Scene - dining goes upscale at this trendy Asian Bistro. Mood lighting, contemporary decor and a cool glass slate table set the scene at this chic, urban Asian Bistro.
In terms of food, Asian Bistro remains the buzzword, The chefs turn, traditional ingredients, served with a modern twist.
They also provide complimentary spicy peanuts.
There's little I would add except to say that the food quality, in my experience (and that of some of our other colleagues), when it's great, it's truly superb.
We've eaten three times at "Coast Restaurant" a relatively new Chinese restaurant in Mcallen, and have had exceptionally good meals each time.
