It’s been awhile since I have eaten at the Dinner Bell and it was well worth it! The staff, atmosphere and the food was great! Love the fried chicken, fried egg plant and yellow squash casserole! I will make sure to go back often. Love it!

Goodness, it was all so good, I think I may have injured myself, but sooner or later, you just have to stop eating. Great home cooking at a really great price. They really need bigger plates so you could fit more on them. Love it every time I go there. I would like to recommend something but there is just no way to pick just one thing.

Good things come to those that wait! And the wait wasn't that bad. Food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and even joked with my husband as he continued to have them look for More pecan pie! Lol 😂Definitely worth the 40 minute drive.

Brought a group from St. Gabriel, LA. Today's lunch was the highlight of our adventure. Cannot remember the last time I had such a delicious meal. Thought I might have to peek in the kitchen, to see if my mama was at the stove!!

My daughter and I took a day trip to MS while her kids were out of school for Mardi Gras. She'd never eaten at the Dinner Bell so we went. Her son, who is 8, turned to me and said what a cool concept Mimi. I'd have to agree with him. Enjoyed the atmosphere and of course the food too!

The Dinner Bell has been a fixture in McComb for decades. Always quality food with friendly and helpful staff. Plus, the round table style is awesome at fostering dinner conversation every time we go.

The food is still just as amazing as when I came as a kid. Fresh, southern home cooking at its best.

My favorite place to go for fried chicken. The fried eggplant and dumplings are also great. It's served on a large lazy Susan ... very unique experience.

A truly fabulous experience. Great southern dining at its finest. The fried chicken was excellent as was the fried eggplant. Sitting at the large round table with other guests was a unique but pleasant experience as well. If you are ever in McComb treat yourself to this neat experience.

Excellent eating. Not crazy about fighting people for the dishes on the turn table but well worth the bother considering.

Classic and wonderful. The Dinner Bell will not disappoint you. They have the best fried chicken in town, amazing banana pudding, and friendly service...plus all the southern favorites you can think of for the sides. It is buffet style but you get to sit the whole time and spin the giant lazy susan at the round table to get what you want! Wonderful place to go...if you are just passing through town it will be memorable and if you live here it will be a favorite :)

Enjoyed it - 3 stars out of 5. Operations: very efficient: Large table could fit 16 people. The food: everything was great except the ribs (cooked in the oven instead of smoked on the pit. The sweet potato casserole - heavenly as well as the yellow squash. The fried chicken could have been better.

Food was always hot: and always coming.

Rating: gave it 3 stars because it did not rock my out of me feet . Just good cooking.

Yummy!. We always get lunches to go because we never have time to eat in. They always give us so much food, there is enough left over for another meal. The eggplant is delicious and so is the fried chicken. My favorite? Porkchops!

Good southern cooking. When in McComb the Bell is where I go for a great lunch. One of two round table restaurants in the area with verry good southern food. The chicken is different at each and both are tasty!
I have a fried chicken addiction!

Classic Experience.... The ownership may change a little but the quality of food remains what I always remember it to be since childhood. It is southern staples that are consistently good every single visit. The leadership of a fine young man helps the experience because he leads a kind and professional staff... If you have not been, you should... If you have been, you should go again...

Great family affair. Fried chicken is delightful as are most of the Southern country dishes served on the lazy Susan. Didn't particularly like the rolls or spinach, but there was far more I liked than didn't. Definitely the best restaurant in McComb and a good stop if you're traveling I-55 and are hungry.

Fun and Awesome Fried Chicken. A fun experience for the out-of-towner, and the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Ruined it for me forever, everywhere else. Lots of other tasty items, too, in true family-style settings.

Fried chicken and eggplant were amazing. Didn't feel like it was worth the long wait. Although the staff was nice enough to give me a few rolls my hungry toddler while we waited.

Unique and great. You are moved into a dining room with a large lazy Susan in the middle with 20 other people around the table. As the food rolls by, you get to choose from 15 southern dishes. Fried chicken, egg plant, greens, sweet potato casserole, wow! If you can't find comfort food here that satifies you, you have a serious problem. The choices are many and the menu is a little different each day of the week. , the flavor is great and it is certainly worth the search from off the interstate to get here.

A fun place for Sunday dinner. What an interesting restaurant......you sit at a large round table with 10 or 12 others and spin the center part of the table to get the serving dishes of the foods you want to try. Lots of Southern comfort foods. Good, basic country cooking. Nothing fancy, but certainly a fun place to go for lunch with friends on a Sunday.

Unique !! When you walk in, you will be seated at a large round table with 12 other people. The middle of the table is a large "lazy Susan" that will be loaded with traditional southern staples - fried chicken, Lima beans, sweet potatoes, fried okra, sliced homegrown tomatoes - you get the picture. There's no menu but you will have a huge selection of choices. Go hungry. If you are driving through McComb or staying in the area, take time for a lunch here, you won't be disapointed.

The first time I went to the dinner bell I was amazed. I had never seen the style of table they had used for eating. A bunch of families sit at one table and if someone has the food you want one the opposite end of the table, spin it around! It is incredible. Deliciousness is one word to describe the Dinner Bell, pure deliciousness. You can say that once you get in the restaurant. it is just one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Folks if you try this restaurant I guarantee that you will love it!

I’d been wanting to hit the Dinner Bell in downtown McComb for some time. On the way back from my Southern hot dog quest, I drove another couple hundred miles out of my way to take advantage of time and opportunity. The Dinner Bell is only open Tuesday thru Sunday for lunch, 11A – 2P, so you have to time a visit from out of town just right. The Bell serves its meals family style, at round tables that sit 18. Atop the table is a huge “lazy susan,” laden with entrees, salads, side dishes, desserts, and icy pitchers of sweet ice tea. On a typical day, you might find any of the following: fried chicken, carved ham, turkey, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, catfish, ribs, liver and onions, white rice, dirty rice, gravy, sweet potato casserole, cole slaw, greens, green beans, black-eyed peas, okra, red beans, corn, biscuits, rolls, corn bread and a multitude of desserts. Sundays at the Bell are even more lavish. I

I love to take my mother here. We have been going there for years. One of the last traditional round table seating restaurants left. As you would expect, serves southern comfort food on a rotating "Lazy Susan" style table. Known for their fried chicken, dumplins, vegetables, famous fried egg plant, and deserts, they also have various other dishes. Menu varies from day to day. Besides the good food, dining is always enjoyable as you get to meet local patrons, many from other places in Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as those from other states. Service is friendly. Prices are a little higher but worth the experience.

We have been to the Dinner Bell years ago and decided to go today. Nothing has changed! It is the same delicious food and the setting is awesome. There are several rooms with large tables in each one. On each table there is a large lazy Susan. You are seated with other people and you serve your own self. They keep the serving dishes full of delicious home cooked vegetables and meats and it is very reasonable to eat there. The Dinner Bell was originally built in 1959. Later, they added additional rooms to enlarge. It is about an hour and a half drive from Baton Rouge.

The Dinner Bell is an awesome place to eat. You sit at this big round table that you can turn and pick whatever you want to eat. The food is really good, and the people starts a conversation with one another, and everyone's like one big family. The owner, and servers are great! I think it's a wonderful place to dine!

I really want to rate it 3.5. For its history and unique vibe only. Food is very bland and mediocre. I guess its like "grandma 's " years ago although my grandmother was a fabulous cook but most people are not that lucky. I would go again with a group that wanted to eat there if that was what they wanted, but I would not go out of my way. Mostly canned vegetables. Sweet potatoes and eggplant are good. Chicken is ok. Mine was dry. So is the cornbread.

Make sure you time your trip right - only open Tues- Sunday 11-2 but worth diverting from the interstate. The experience is as much a reason to go as the food. The food!! Southern favorites like fried chicken, red beans & rice, mashed sweet potatoes, limas, lots more!
