Very friendly staff. Good food with excellent pizza. Large variety of beers on tap. Parking in front gets tight if there is a ball game, but there is plenty of parking in the back.
April 2022 Update: Dining service can be hit-or miss on any given day or time due to kitchen staff and food shortages. They may also run out of food hours before the kitchen closes. My wife and I had to eat somewhere else a couple of times. One Sunday they ran out of pizza sauce when only pizza and salads were on the menu. The kitchen is listed as being open until 8:00 PM. We showed up at about 6:10 one evening to see a lot of people eating, only to be told the kitchen closed at 6:00 due to staffing.
The queen of hearts jackpot, meat raffle, bingo and other great events the VFW has makes this place a must see. The food is also great here too.

Our new favorite spot! Queen of hearts is fun to play while supporting the veterans! The risotto balls are amazing. Also they have a veggie burger and vegan cheese!

Great steak dinner tonight, with some of my wife's baked cod, making it an impromptu surf&turf. They were hosting a fundraiser for the McHenry High School women's Volleyball team, and it was a nice event to support.
