This place is just amazing!! Everything is so fresh and delicious! They cook it right when you order it. Well worth the wait! Try the grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the fried pickles! Mmmmmm we will keep coming back!

One of a Kind. Okay, where else in Oregon can you chow down on an elk burger and a hazelnut shake in the company of a monkey? Nowhere else my friend. That's what we like about Alf's. Kind of a crazy, one of a kind place. Oh, and there is also the "All Day Burger" which I have never quite had the appetite for. We saw a couple split one when we were there the other day, passing through McMinnville. Even half would be too much for me. Our party of three had an elk burger, a halibut burger, sweet potato fries and we all shared one hazelnut shake. The shake is made with real crushed hazelnuts like the kind they grow around these parts. None of that fake hazelnut flavoring. If I have one complaint about Alf's it's that it is really getting a little too grungy. If I were the owner, I would close the place down for a week for a thorough cleaning and paint job (especially the monkey cage). Maybe get rid of some the clutter on the walls that has accumulated through the years. I think it would be good for business. The grunge factor is probably a little off-putting to some who have never been here before and expect a higher standard of cleanliness.
Ice cream was good...service, eh.. Driving through McMinnville over the weekend we noticed Alf's and their "Homemade Ice Cream" sign. I got the Hazelnut ice cream and my husband got a hot fudge sundae. They were delicious! We would like to go back and try a burger next time. There weren't any tables available inside, but plenty of seating outside...and it was covered. Actually, there was one table that was empty except for a cell phone that was charging on top of it.
The girl behind the counter taking our order was less than friendly. She almost seemed irritated that I didn't tell her that we were only ordering ice cream before she picked up her pen. She also answered the phone in the middle of taking our order and didn't even say "excuse me" or anything. It was a bit rude. In any case, I'll look over the not so friendly service to try out other things on the menu. At least I didn't have to leave a tip.
The food was great, will definitely visit quite a bit during my time at Linfield, service was eh but the monkey made up for it, for you California people it is no in n out or anything but it is a great hamburger they have a hamburger with my name : )
Great place to eat. I have to say that the monkey adds to it all. I used to go there when I was a kid and I really enjoyed watching the monkey. Also, the monkey is a family pet they take him home at the end of the day and he isnt always there.

Not sure how I feel about the caged monkey, but the burgers and ice cream are great.
I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. happy to tell that it was a awesome evening and the restaurant was clearly the reason for the successful gathering. The waiters helped in a splendid way, the food was delicious and my buddies were very cheerful. We shall surely come back again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

Mom & pops burger/real ice cream shop. Just bought myself lunch. Delicious bacon/burger with a coke. Old fashion eatery with 50/60 decor. Elvis, James Dean & Marilyn Monroe. Don't forget monkeys everywhere. Good burger 🍔. I will b back.
Fun burger place w outdoor patio, which is dog friendly. Great food and awesome shakes. Just a bit loud from the roadnoise
The guy there was awesome. He was very engaging to not just me (over the phone and in person) but to my kids as well. Asking them specifically what they'd like. Let's not forget the cook, even though he was behind the scenes he showed he cared about the customers.
My friend and I stopped here to get some birthday ice cream. The service was very friendly and fast. I tried the banana and licorice and it made a surprisingly delicious combination.
