My husband and I found out about Arlecchino from a friend and tried it for the 1st time last night to celebrate my birthday. I can’t say enough about this place! The atmosphere of the old school house was fantastic! Even though it was a nice upscale place it did not feel snooty at all. Our waiter Bobby was friendly and great at explainIng everything to us! He made sure our drinks were always full and we didnt wait too long inbetween courses. The food was some of the best italian food I have ever had (and I have been to Italy and had authentic italian food). We thought the portions were great and then we were served our main course and could not believe the amout of food we got. I looking forward to dining there again!! Thanks for a great experience Arlecchino!

I am a self proclaimed foodie and I enjoy a fine dining experience. I was blown away by the food, the service and the attention to detail. Mica, our server was a true professional as was Jackie, the GM. The food was exceptional and the Arugula, Provolone and Truffle combination presented on a hot skillet was devoured and probably one of the most delicious and interesting appetizers we have ever had. The salad was perfect, the pasta was perfect and the veal was well, perfect. They also had a very fine wine selection and it was appreciated. We look forward to coming back. There are options today and competition for the ultimate dining experience, looks like we found a spot we will value frequenting. Hat off to the Chefs-The Powers family.

5/13/17 Had dinner for my wife's birthday as well as her parents anniversary. The service was on point. Talk about a smooth experience. Now on to the food. The wife and I both had veal chops. First time for both of us. #blownaway The parents had the Mahi Mahi and a NY Strip steak. They both loved it! The smoked provolone app was AMAZING. Salad was very good. #goatcheeseaioli! The pasta mixed with fresh cream fresh cracked black pepper in a fontenella cheese wheel will absolutely blow you away! This place is an absolute must do!!!! Great job!!!! A big time shout out to Joe Dowd who took great care of us! Keep doing what your doing. We will return.

Arlecchino Ristorante is one of the finest places to dine. The food, service, and atmosphere are beyond excellent. They made my son's 40th birthday extra special. An amazing place for any occasion. My husband and I joined a group of friends who recommended this restaurant to us. It was our first time! I promise you.. you will not be disappointed! Rachel was absolutely awesome.. she was patient and kind.. and was able to educate us on the restaurant, specials and make accommodations for those of us with questions or concerns. The food was out of this world! This place is my new favorite... it will hard to beat!

Every year or so, I have an exceptional dining experience- the service, food, and ambiance all come together to make for a perfect evening. Last Thursday, I had one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Ristorante Arlecchino is located at 133 Camp Lane, in Mcmurray, PA. Previously a schoolhouse, the restaurant embodies comfort, and old-world charm. The main dining room is inviting and warm, with an open kitchen where you can see the talent at work.

It took me a while to decide where to go for my birthday dinner, but I finally decided on Arlecchino since we hadn't been there in a long time. It's in McMurray in the old Thompson School House. I decided to write an updated post since the last time I wrote about Arlecchino was April 3013. Our meal was just as delicious as I remember. We each had a glass of white wine while enjoying bread and dipping oil before ordering. We shared the Smoked Provolone with black winter truffles, arugula, and locatelli appetizer (as usual - we love this starter). Next was the usual side salad (romaine, red leaf, roasted beets, raisins, sunflower seeds, and an aioli from a local goat cheese farm) and then the pasta arrived:

There's not a better restaurant in this area. Their food is always awesome, no matter what we ever order. The appetizers are delicious. The owners know what a truly great restaurant is all about. They also own Alla Famiglia. Some people complain that it's overpriced but in my humble opinion, in life, you get what you pay for. If you think it's too expensive then maybe you can't afford it. Just don't go back. Peters Twp needed an upscale establishment like this.

Great Food - Some Issues. We made a reservation for a Saturday night and were seated on the patio next to a family with 4 children who, oblivious to the parents, were noisy and running around the table.

Between the children running around, being seated next to the loudly blowing heater and the very loud music playing overhead, we had difficulty hearing each other talking and our hopes of a romantic evening at a special restaurant seemed to be dashed. We asked to move our table and were told by the waitress that she wasn't sure that could happen, even though there were at least 5 unoccupied tables on the patio at that time. We decided we would return another time if we could not be moved but the waitress came back and did move us to a table at the opposite end of the room. The blower was still loud as was the music, but it was much easier to hear each other. We will not sit on the patio in winter again.

The food made us happy we could stay. The Veal Chop Milanese, although it was a pricey $65, was outstanding. 4 huge lumps of fresh crab meat rested atop an enormous double veal chop that nearly hung over the plate. Each bite melted in your mouth. The pasta was perfectly cooked although it was not necessary to serve what appeared to be a pound of pasta. I would rather have the price and the portions cut in half. The salad plates were appropriately icy cold and the mixture of roasted beets, raisins and sunflower seeds were a nice variation from the standard lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad. The salad would have benefited from a Balsamic dressing rather than the overly sweet dressing that made the salad difficult to finish. Garlic was a bit overwhelming in all of the dishes. Still, the food was very good and we enjoyed the leftovers as much the next day.

The wine menu lacked a good selection of "by the glass" wines. Although my husband asked for basic vodka in his drink, we were surprised when they substituted Kettle One and up-charged us $2 for it even though he had not requested a top shelf vodka.

The waitress was attentive and friendly, but if this is truly an Italian restaurant, please, please, please teach your staff the correct pronunciation of the dishes. Tagliatelle was pronounced "TAG-lee-ah-tell" several times and it made me shudder as much as when Bruschetta is pronounced "broo-SHET-ta".

Valet parking suffered from having only one poor guy trying to get cars for several patrons at once.

This is a great restaurant for a very special occasion, but I would recommend you make a reservation and request a room in the main dining area, especially in the winter.

Try the Veal. 1st visit after a couple of attempts, my thanks to Carl for making it work for us. Table was upstairs @ the bar but it was actually cozy. The only negative to being in the bar area was that the service was a little non-attentive @ times due to bar counter patrons. Started with the mussels and truly enjoyed, extra bread please the sauce is wonderful. House salad was excellent and not so much to steal the space needed for the main course. We split the veal, beware it is pricey, but we were not expecting Eat 'n Park. Pasta was awesome and again not detracting. The Veal is very much the same as Alla Famiglia. Had a great time, not rushed relaxed. Didn't have room for desert maybe next time.

Yes, even a VEGAN can get a great meal. Arlecchino's is a WONDERFUL restaurant. I live close and find it a joy to have dinner there. The wait staff recognize you and bend over backwards to be attentive. The food since day 1 has been amazing and even though they do not have a separate menu with vegetarian or vegan offerings on it, Joe and the other talented chefs will make sure to make you something special and splendid. Whether it be a pasta with sautéed vegetables or roasted vegetables with potato, I have never been disappointed. Love it:)

Great!. This place is small, yet the rustic charm makes for a nice, romantic date or somewhere you'd go for a special occasion. We had reservations and we were seated right as we arrived; no issues at all. Our server was attentive, answered our questions and made great recommendations. My husband had the veal chop and it was so good that it practically melted in your mouth. I had the seafood Diablo and it was filled with fresh lobster, clams, shrimp, scallops and crab meat in a delicious red tomato plum sauce. We also had the provolone/arugula appetizer and the calamari, which were also really good. My only complaint is their lack of dessert choices. They only offered two and I really wanted tiramisu but our server suggested against it. He advised us to get the cheesecake with their homemade caramel sauce. The caramel sauce was good but the cheesecake was just okay. All in all, I thought it was pricey but very much worth it. I haven't tried their other restaurants yet but I definitely intend to!

Pleasantly surprised!. After reading the reviews, I was somewhat hesitant about dining here. My friend recommended it and I am so glad we listened to him and not the negative posters! The setting is somewhat unique; small but lively. The stuffed meatball appetizer A++, calamari A, salad A+, pasta side A, my veal milanese A, hubby's veal chop A-, friend's seafood diablo A+. Desserts- B. Service B + but it was packed. The prices are not out of line. The entree price includes salad and a side of pasta. Most restaurants charge separately for these. We will return!
Odd that the valet didn't open the car door for me.

Another amazing experience. This was the second time my wife and I have dined at Arlecchino's. The service, staff and food were amazing again. I've read the recent hype here on urbanspoon, and I was skeptical, thinking that perhaps something changed since my first experience. Well I'm here to say that nothing has changed and the food and service was impeccable yet again. The staff was extremely personable, including the hostess, waiters, bartenders and even the owner who took time from a very busy Saturday night to chat with us tableside for several minutes. I cannot recommend this place enough. My wife and I are planning to try their other two restaurants and most certainly will be back to Arlecchino’s

One of the 3 Best in the "burgh!!!. I absolutely love this place! The steaks, the pasta, even the salads, are the best ever! My very favorite are the mussels. We have had to ask for more bread in order to sop up every last drop of the sauce...I know, not too classy of me, but I would probably lick the bowl if no-one saw me! Sadly, they are no longer open for lunch. Can't wait to try the new place in the Strip District! Congratulations to Jonathan. Donna Kaufman

Too expensive. Oh...I don't mind expensive, if it's worth it. But here, the food was very good, and only sometimes great. Service is excellent. It's a "must try" for Peter's residents, but it's not on my monthly visit list.

Very good. Since they reopened for lunch I have been in weekly to dine. I appreciated a gift certificate I received and am excited to have dinner there in the very near future. . The entrepreneur lunch is an excellent value and so much food I rarely eat dinner when I have had it. We saw friends having the panini and salad this past trip and although it would require me to change from the entrepreneur lunch they looked good so I will try. Brandi is very warm and welcoming. We are excited to try their sauce at home with the kids and cannot wait to buy it. Pastries are divine and usually sparse by the time I get there at lunch but wild be well worth a morning visit to pick some up. We are so happy you are here. Motto been!

Amazing. As a huge fan of Alla Famiglia, we were not let down by Arlecchino. The appetizers are just as delicous. The meatball and smoked provolone are to die for. The salad is a delicious mix with nuts berries and beets, and of course the bread and oil is enough to fill you before dinner even arrives. The atmosphere is fantastic, casual yet upscale at the same time. You get an at home feel as soon as you walk in. Although it is small, the size does not hinder the dining experience at all. I love the diversity of the dinner menu, which changes daily. It is nice to see they went with some of the popular items at Alla Famiglia and a mix of new items. They are open for morning coffee and pastries, you can stop by during the work day for a delicious lunch salad or sandwhich or plan your evening around a fantastic dinner and bottle of wine. 2 thumbs up from us!

The Best. Awesome place. Well worth it. If you are going to appreciate great food, take your time and not gorge yourself....this place is perfect. If you want to stuff yourself for $20, go to olive garden. Share the entrees and drink good wine. One of the best italian meals we have ever had in the US. Will go back next time we are in Pittsburgh.

This is now my favorite restaurant. I've been to Arlecchino three times now and they have consistently delivered food that is creative and delicious, service that is flawlessly executed, and atmosphere that is unique and sophisticated. Each time, the menu has been varied which keeps things interesting. On our last visit, they added a stuffed meatball appetizer which can only be described as "Awesome"! This is now my "go to" restaurant for entertaining clients or a nice evening out with my wife. I love the open kitchen.....how cool is it to watch the chefs prepare their delicious cuisine 5 feet from your table? It is wonderful entertainment watching your meal be created right in front of you. The bar overlooking the dining room is a very unique and beautiful space and we actually had our dinner sitting at the bar on our first visit. This is truly a dining "experience" and the kind of place that is worth going out of your way for.

Outstanding!. Anyone who thinks Arlecchino is over-priced, doesn't understand the value of quality, fresh ingredients, that are responsibly sourced and exquisitely prepared. Each main course is accompanied by a salad and a home-made pasta course, served family style. Fresh, home-made bread with signature "holy" (dipping) oil was an amazing elevation of the standard bread service at most restaurants. Every dish was perfectly prepared, generously portioned, and just plain delicious. In my opinion, Arlecchino has seriously raised the bar for Italian cuisine in Pittsburgh.

C'mon People...Life's about Choices...!!. PLEASE READ The WHOLE REVIEW......Let's start by getting something right out on the table....it's pretty clear that "most" comment writers are either from one extreme, whereby they attempt to impress us by spelling out (by name, no less) the list of fine restaurants they've eaten at as they've trotted around the Globe.....OR.....they are from the other extreme who feel more than "content" with eating Only at restaurants whose motto goes something like..."Two can dine for $19.99". Just so you know....I believe that Both are fine...because like I said above..."Life's about having Choices! Some of us enjoy the engineering excellence of driving a Benz or a Bentley....and some of us enjoy the value of Chevy Cobalt...both are fine! Some of us love and appreciate the intense flavor of Parmigiano Reggiano...and some of us like the white cheese powder in the Green Can!....again, both are fine! As Diners, we Vote with our Dollars....just like we do with everything else we spend money on. I've been very fortunate to eat at the finest restaurants that money can get you into....yet, I also love a "deal" like the "Never ending Pasta and Salad Bowl" at Olive Garden!! But when it comes to Truly FINE Dining in Pittsburgh....I feel it boils down to 3 places....Davio's, Alla Famiglia, and now Arlecchino. What Jonathan and his Expert Kitchen Team are able to turn out (all in your Viewing Pleasure) is nothing short of Spectacular. That kitchen hums like the 16 cylinders of a Bugatti....fast, harmonious, and accurate. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is like Manhattan, and the service is Devine. And THAT, my friends is worth paying for....Culinary Bliss. For goodness sake...go and eat at the Capital Grille or Mortons, and see if you can get out of there for less than a C-note each.....and I surely wouldn't say that either of those places make food into an Artform...like Arlecchino does. So, treat yourself, maybe not every weekend....but when you're taste buds are screaming out to be exhilarated, your spirit ready to be lifted and entertained, and you're body ready to indulge in some of the finest flavorful food you will find.....Go to Arlecchino... "David J" says you gonna like it !! Cheers.

This restaurant hides nothing: they promise quality and whether it's a dish with just four or forty ingredients, they deliver. Each member of the staff introduced themselves to me (including the owners), and each checked on my experience during my feast. It is a place at which I will entertain large groups, and it is a place that my wife and I already want to go to on our next "date night". Simply wonderful.

Top Notch. My wife and I had dinner with another couple this past Saturday and we were thrilled with it. It was very, very impressive all around. The atmosphere is open with high ceilings, an open kitchen, a second floor bar (very nice) overlooking the main dining area, but also manages to be cozy. The main dining area seats perhaps 50-60 people max., so it avoids the big, commercial feel. There was great attention to detail in the remodeling of the old building and it "feels" like a high-end restaurant without being stuffy.

Everything we had was superb. The breads are fantastic, the dipping oil is tasty (excuse my lack of a more useful description), and the salad was full of different flavors and textures to enjoy. The pasta was cooked just right and the pepper oil brought to your table to drizzle on the pasta provides just the right amount of kick to get your taste buds going. The various appetizers are not ones which you see at every other restaurant and are a fun culinary experience in their own right. The entrees were all phenomenal. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly with a wonderful mushroom, pepper, worchestire sauce. The veal was simply amazing and melted in your mouth. The desserts were also very good and worth a try, even though you'll likely feel stuffed by that point. They have homemade gelato and sorbet (we had chocolate peanut butter gelato) and it was full of rich, decadent flavor. The cannoli was good, as was the cake that night, but the gelato was our favorite.

Yes, as other reviewers have noted, this restaurant is pricey, but I considered it to be an elite dining experience worth the cost. Our table of four ordered one appetizer, four entrees (which are preceded by a salad course, a pasta course and artisanal bread), three desserts, a few beers, a $63 bottle of wine, and coffee, and the bill came to $325 before tip. Service was friendly, attentive and very professional. I did not think it was an outrageous price for the total experience offered by this restaurant.

WOW!!!!!. This restaurant is a hit at all levels. food, service, atmosphere. I wanted EVERYTHING. I always think that ordering pasta at a restaurant is a cop out. I had two pastas at this restaurant!!!!!. Papardelle with short ribs was heavenly. I wanted to put my face in the bowl of bolognese. My wife had the spots. Borrrrrrrring.... everywhere.....but not here. Fish was fresh, preparation was fresh, taste was fantastic. I dont know how, but this little fish had big big flavor. Best ever!!!! I did not try try the table side pasta but it looked fabulous. I will try it next time. Truly, everything put on that table was top notch. Finally the South Hills has fine dining!!!! Fantastic!. We had a wonderful experience last night - we enjoyed Campari's at the bar and then spent a lovely evening eating in the bar area overlooking the main dining room. David provided excellent service and was a delight (looking forward to Strega very soon!) The food was outstanding and the attention to quality and use of the best products was not lost on us at all. We do so much scratch cooking of our own that we are often let down by most restaurants...especially those calling themselves authentic Italian. Arelecchino does not disappoint - we will be back, and often!

Mushrooms with a Marsala wine sauce. I ate at Arlecchino a few weeks ago for a rehearsal dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. I felt like I was in my Grandmother's basement all over again with every bite. I had everything from Stuffed Banana peppers to Romano Crusted Halibut to....I can't believe I am even going to say this...Mushrooms. I love to eat everything - everything except for mushrooms that is, and let me tell you...this mushroom dish with a Marsala wine sauce was to die for. I have never finished a dish with mushrooms in it and I ate the entire plate. This dish completely changed my mind about mushrooms. Superb!!! Peters needed a place like this!

My main meal: Cottoletta del Monzu - scallopini of veal finished with fresh mozzarella, colossal lump crab, arugula, and toasted pine nuts. Oh my gosh. I think this is the best veal scallopini I've ever had at a restaurant. The veal was not too thin, it was a very nice thick scallopini, which means that it didn't dry out/get tough like very thin veal can.
