Food is always good and hot. Easy on the budget.
I have been looking for a neighborhood Chinese food spot. I've decided to check out all the places near my house. This was my first stop. It is a whole in the wall spot on Jackson Ave and in my opinion, the whole in the wall spots usually serve the best food. Too many to name up and down jackson and Summer Ave. I ordered the shrimp and chicken with broccoli and white rice. Two spring rolls that were great. It was really good. I am going to go back and try the sesame chicken and combo fried rice. This will be the meal I order at each place to judge. Anyhow, already can't wait to go back.
If 4.5 stars was an option, it would be the operative move here.
As pictured, Big Hong Kong is clearly not a misnomer. The portion sizes are gargantuan. I ordered a quart of vegetable lo mein, and a quart of mixed vegetables with garlic sauce, and I have enough food to comfortably provide four to six meals.
The quality of the food is also there. The lo mein was flavorful and loaded with carrots, broccoli and bean sprouts. The mixed vegetables had a very spicy component that seem to be a red chili pepper sauce. The restaurant will also adjust heat based on your personal preference.
I will definitely be returning. I only docked the score half a star due to the fact that there was a considerable delay in order placement. However, the service was otherwise great. In the future, I'll be ordering take-out over the phone in advance. And I plan to order frequently.
I always go here. The best in the area. Food is ALWAYS fresh.
Food was delicious. Orange chicken was very flavorful. Portion sizes are huge. Will definitely return
Exactly what I wanted from Americanized Chinese takeout. General Tso chicken was nice and crispy, egg rolls were great too. I have attached photos of the menu (as of September 2022) for those who, like me, had a hard time finding a menu online to place an order.
Good good always! It’s just HARD to get through over the phone to place a call in order. The line is always busy. I’ve called 75 times within 5 mins and the line was still busy I gave up.
Food is always hot & very tasty. I'm from Chicago, and this is one of three Chinese take-out restaurants I visit. Memphis has very few good Chinese food locations. I also love this location because the prices are fair & affordable!
I’ve only eaten the General Tso’s chicken and rice but it is done perfectly. It’s got a little bit of crunch without being soggy. It’s quite a bit for the price too. The large is humongous. I would eat here every day if I could. I’ve even converted my co-workers who now eat it all the time too.
Chicken & Shrimp with Broccoli. Very delicious. I had fried rice. I like that they ask if you want onions in your rice. Im okay with onions in fried rice but I have many friends who dont like the onions. Food was cooked to order. Take out only.
I ordered the wrong kind of noodles and when I got there they had already started on my meal, however she wanted to confirm my order and it wasn’t what I wanted but she corrected it anyways without hesitation! I love this places the prices are nice and they have subs as well as wings!! Wish I could give more stars 😍😍
They give you plenty every time, no complaints. It's 4 of us and we all eat off of 1 large Orange chicken /w large beef Lo Mein and still had some for the next day.
Amazing food at a great price.
I’m am a food critic and I approve of this place….I went here just because I haven’t had any fried rice in awhile come to my surprise it’s was I best I’ve had in years🥰🥰🥰
Lots of food for a good price.
Best Chinese food carry out in Memphis. We eat there at least once a week and it is fantastic.
