This a nice place to have a good meal. Good portions at a good price. I like that it is not loud and full of people. Only open Friday's 5-9. You need to stop by and try it. The chicken fried steak is what I recommend.
Sunday brunch for this Mother’s Day was absolutely the BOMB. And BOMB is good. Guy from Diners, Drive-Inn and Dives should give them a visit. Every dish was fabulous. If you ain’t tried it yet, you’re missing out on a real treat. It’s not a large place, not a chain but darn it has great food. Tracey, you might just have to reserve me a private table!
First time visit. Brought the family, party of 6, and everything we tried was the best we ever ate. Fried Green tomatoes were delicious and some of don’t even like tomatoes. Chicken fried steak hand cut and battered, so tender and tasty. Real mashed potatoes and when we tasted the kids fries we had to order some too. Homemade ranch dressing, who does that? They do!!! Mother and daughter team are spectacular!!! And since we were the last ones in the place on Friday night they came and introduced themselves and chatted a while. We will be back hopefully ever Friday night.
Tastebud Temptations is definitely a favorite of mine!! I love their fried green tomatoes (Tracey always spoils me with fresh, hot one, yummy ones). The French fries, the sandwiches, the talipia, the chicken fried steak- I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t very very good. If you’ve never had her Christmas Crack Crackers you’re really missing something - that’s for sure. They are open for lunch Weds. Fri. From 11-2 and Friday evenings.
This chicken fried steak may have been the best I've ever eaten, and that's saying a lot-my grandma was a darn good cook!

OMG, got my first taste of this place today for Mother's Day brunch and all I can say is what an awesome experience we had. Great food; friendly and attentive waitstaff and an overall great experience. I loved the poblano pepper pasta and the strawberry crunch french toast but I think my favorite was the bread pudding drizzled with the syrup from the french toast - OMG that was awesome. My mom on the other hand absolutely loved and devoured the fried chicken. Thanks for helping make her day special.
A friend and I had dinner there this evening. We both had the chicken fried steak which was delicious as were and the sides. The service there is also excellent and the staff and owner seem very nice and interested in providing a good experience over all. Be sure to check this place out if you want a good meal at a good value that isn't a corporate chain which Mesquite is known for.
Had lunch there for first time today. Can recommend without exception. Very friendly staff. Best kept secret in Mesquite.

Had special of the day “sausage plate with mashed potatoes & creamed green beans” it was all delicious, My wife had s BLT sandwich!!! Plan to return soon!

The food was delicious. Chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn. All freshly cooked. Taste like home cooked .
The food that we ordered was great. I tried the Fried Catfish, Mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. My daughter tried the Chicken fried Chicken with Mashed potatoes. Very delicious, we enjoyed every bit of it!

This was an unbelievable find! The catfish was crispy and not greasy. For sides, I had the Elotes, which had a kick, was citrusy and not drowned in mayonnaise and the green bean casserole, also delicious! My guy had the chicken fried steak and wants to go back and have it again. Everything is made from scratch, nothing is frozen! The staff was amazing and this will be in our rotation permanently! Oh yeah, they are also BYOB!

My coworkers had been telling me about this place for some time now and eventually they got me out of the office to have lunch. Let me just say the portions 😳 are well worth the price. I've never had steak fingers that tender. Could've used a tad more seasoning like garlic or a table blend but overall it was of good quality. The mashed potatoes and bread ...are... phenomenal 🤤. I have a few more items in mind that I'm looking forward to.
Friendly Mother and Daughter duo running a fantastic restaurant. Some of the best service you'll ever receive coupled with fantastic home cooked meals with large portions. Yet to try anything on the menu I wouldn't give 5 stars to. Can't reccomend them enough.
