Quick service. Excellent hot beignets. Their hot chocolate has always been the best. Hope they keep this location going. So much easier than braving the French quarter crowds!!
Beignet is a speciality of this place and those were really yammy. I loved the place. They serve superb coffee and hot chocolate. The place is always crowded and lively. I would live to visit it again and again.
If there is a line, WAIT. Totally packed, totally covered in powdered sugar, totally worth it.
Not quite the same ambience as the French Quarter but the hot fluffy sugar dredged pillows and chicory coffee still fill the bill.
All for under $5.
Drown your Saints loss sorrows in sugar and dough.
There's a drive thru!. I drive past this place all the time and never noticed there was a drive thru. Great for picking up a sunday morning treat for under $3.
Great Beignets. The beignets are a must-try while in New Orleans, and if you don't feel up to braving the crowds, the location in Metairie is just as good, and much quieter.
Skipped the Line.... ...at the "original" and let my wife have her first CDM experience without the traffic or the wait. It's just like the NOLA location, but indoors and much easier to access.
Explorers Start Here *. I find it impossible to start my day in New Orleans without stopping at this Cafe Du Monde in Metairie. I just get a standard order of 3 biegnets with a Cafe au lait. Its just simple and comforting and one of life's great pleasures.
The place is usually crowded and parking is terrible (but there is worse around) but the line moves fast and service is always friendly. All that said, once you sit down and sink your teeth into one of these pearls of goodness, all the negative stuff floats away. Time to get out there and explore the rest of this great city.
Better than FQ. Begneits and atmosphere are better at this Cafe Du Monde. This is where real locals go. The one in the Quarter is okay when you have friends in town, but on a day to day basis, this is a nice hangout. Morning Call's begneits are still better.
The atmosphere isn't as good as the original but the taste is the same.
I named my dog after the beignet, that's how good it is!
The frozen coffe is amazing
Good coffee and awesome beignets. Just wish the dining area was a bit cleaner at the time. The employees were very nice as well.

Great New Orleans Tradition... in Metairie!
On May 3, 2022, the men's room was in very bad condition and they just left it that way. Very disappointing and disheartening. But in some (bad) ways, part of a very old (bad) Louisiana tradition.
Hot, fluffy and tasty.
Little more dense than I remember and there are many Houston places with as good or better beignets. Still pretty good and would or recommend this location because of better parking.
Great coffee. Great beignets. Location in Metairie. Loved it.
Quiet location but just as good as any other.
Very nice interior and exterior with super nice staff. I ate on the patio outside. I wish I had arrived at the busy hours though so I could have gotten some hot fresh beignets instead of the sort of ones that have been sitting around a while.
Nothing like a fresh hot beignet from cafe DU monde- this is the location to hit if you're avoiding the wait or rush at the historic location. There wasn't a soul here when we popped in.
