It seems since the pandemic, this place has really changed. Don’t get me wrong, I still love their food and the staff is always friendly and very attentive, but things have changed in regards to seating. First off, they never seem to open up the back seating area and bar no matter how crowded it gets. There were 4 of us and, even though there were several other tables open, we got seated at a group table in the middle of the room between two groups of people. I felt like I was eating at the lunch table again back in middle school. Also, they are no longer open later, even on Fridays and Saturdays which is very disappointing. The prices have gone up in recent years but it’s still very affordable. The one thing I do not like is that they charge you if you take your food to go. This would be fine if it was an actual “to-go” box, but it’s a piece of tinfoil and a styrofoam plate. Despite these drawbacks, the food was great as always. That and the staff always bring me back.

Established in 1972, Conejitos is classic Mexican food being made the same way for over 50 years. I’ve been going there for over 25 years. Serve food on paper plates except the mole and other specialties.
Average food served on paper plates...amazing. Tremendous value and a great fun experience. High dining it is not. Have fun and enjoy! MUST ASK ABOUT THE BABY PICTURE PORTRAIT PAINTING!!!
First time ever in milwaukee and absolutely love this place. Old fashioned mexican restaurant great Mexican mole chicken Tostadas are great 3 for 5 dollars !!! Also had the enchilada plate.

The best chicken mole in town. The sauce is absolutely delicious. And their beans are fantastic also. It's nothing fancy but it's damn tasty. But I'm not a big fan of the service charge that's automatically added to your bill. Am I supposed to tip on top of that? It really makes things awkward when signing your check or paying with cash. But damn, those beans are good!
Great food at a great price. The chicken enchiladas were delicious. The rice and beans were good too. We didn't care for the guacamole though, the texture was too runny and it kicked flavor. This place is not fancy at all, in fact they serve all the food on paper plates. Plenty of seating.

Obsessed with this place!! (Bought a t-shirt) Just so freaking good. Yeah prices went a LITTLE up, but who cares!! The food was insanely cheap to begin with, settle down people. 🤪 Margaritas are the best, they'll knock you down! 😃 If I lived closer I'd probably gain 30lbs because I'd be there constantly LOL. Tried to post pics but I couldn't NOT take a bite of my enchiladas as soon as he set them down. 😋
Great little hole in the wall Mexican spot to drink and eat some pretty authentic Mexican foods. You'll not regret trying this place out. Everything is homemade 😋

My father swears by this place, so I felt it fitting to bring my friend form out of town here. The service wasn’t the greatest but the taste, quality and price of this delicious Mexican staple of Milwaukee totally makes up for what the service lacks.
Steak tacos were delicious and the Chicken mole pictured was absolutely amazing, so flavorful. My guest was totally impressed as well. I’m a returning foodie and my guest said he will be as well!!!

Food is really good here. everything served on paper plates, very not fancy. authentic. only a few options but for vegetarians they have you covered. I had the 3 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and couldn't finish. service is just ok. they make you wait outside until your party is all there and they don't let you have your own space. multiple people came to take out food order. I hear sitting at the bar is better. can get very busy so expect to wait. beer is ice cold. yum.
Always love coming here & enjoying a quick, home-cooked meal. Tacos are cheap, service is quick & margaritas are strong! Don't forget to tell then it's your bday for a free shot of tequila!
