This is my go-to place to go for drinks. Aside from being a convenient downtown location, it is never bursting at the seams so the bartender can be attentive and conversational. The drinks are always good and reasonably priced. The only downside is that the food isn't great. However, it's not like one would think to go there for dinner anyway so it's no big deal.
Love this space. Prices are reasonable. Always fun to see new signatures of patrons over the years. As one of oldest bars in the city & all the plaques that could collect dust they keep very well cleaned. Nachos & curds were quite good!
The servers are definitely dedicated to the gimmick. It's like someone toned down a Renaissance Fair to a restaurant and made it a 20th century underground intelligence network theme. Lots of cool news memorabilia, photos, autographs and gimmicks like trapdoors and secret bookshelve doors.
Only came in for drinks but really cool, gimmicky spot. Like a dive but intentionally quirky.
Great food except... the appetizer chicken was fire dragon hot! The nachos were delish - so was the rainbow flight!

Our office held a holiday party at The Newsroom Pub and it was great. Bartenders are awesome and the cheese curds were delicious. I would definitely go back for normal dining. Great drink choices.
