Not sure if Art will ever see this but I wanted to say that his place is a one of a kind. The sex on the beach he made me was phenomenal. I’m glad my boyfriend and I got the opportunity to experience it as we were passing through Milwaukee.
Art is a true renaissance man. He can go from cracking jokes about Italians to quoting Shakespeare in mere seconds.
This is a true dive bar in the best sense of the word. Come as you are and enjoy this man. He is a national treasure

If you are looking for a no frills dive bar,you need to visit this place. No stars for the food as I didnt have any. Art the owner is filled with stories of old Milwaukee.
Ended up at Art's late on a Saturday after driving in from Seattle via Minneapolis. The infamous proprietor was tending bar and honed in on my ethnic heritage, making irreverent comments that were refreshing in this uptight culture. All the patrons laughed when I responded, "I didn't kill him personally," to his query regarding the following day being Easter.
Of course, this is the quintessential Milwaukee bar, Art's representing the working class beer and a shot heritage of the Cream City. Just Art's made me think Henry Meier was still the mayor. Calling it a dive bar is unfair. What Just Arts lacks in slick, it makes up with character.
Best place in town, can't beat the happy hour, and the merchandise isn't to be missed. Play a few rounds of dice with the man himself and enjoy a beer or two.
I'm an out of towner and luckily stumbled into this gem. Definitely a local hangout where everyone knows each other but a very friendly and inviting place nonetheless. The bartender is a firecracker and I enjoyed a couple of hours of good natured banter with him. A nice surprise

Art is still behind the bar after 30 years, the fish fry and pizza are better than most of their neighborhood competition. Great little spot to that really feels like a true Milwaukee tavern.
