I’ve driven by this spot like a thousand times and I finally decided to stop and check it out. Let me tell you that it was pretty damn good. The burgers were fresh, the fries crispy and the soda came with crushed ice (my favorite). We did go on a Sunday right around noon so I would recommend placing your order beforehand so you don’t have to wait. I recommend stopping in sometime.

I am a fan of their options and their freshness. I have been coming here for years and I really love their onion ring, tots and burgers. I have had their shakes in the past and they were also really good, I have been dairy free for the last few years so I can’t speak to how they are now. My go to, burger, fries, rings. Good food, fair priced and good vibes.

Had a delicious steak burger, tots and a shake. But the thing I enjoyed most was the strawberry soft serve ice cream cone!! Haven't had one since I was a kid, and it was just as good as I remember. I will be coming back next time I'm in Portland. I give them 10 stars if I could! Oh wait...I can ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a long time staple of the area. My to-be Father-in-law took me here (more than 30 years ago) to get take out for the family. The fish is halibut, the Mikes Special burger is great and the onion rings about the best there is. However!, you gotta get the shakes and make them Old Fashioned. Don’t be surprised if there is a wait, they get busy.

Awesome fresh burgers, wide variety of shakes & icecream desserts, a menu that has more to offer than the typical chain hamburger shops. Classic, small, local & unique. Support small business, support local business. Mike's is worth it!!

Good luch. Had shrimp and oysters, fries, ice cream. Kids love Mike's Drive-in, been going for years. Prices are on the high end and its usually a wait, but so yummy and worth it.

02/10/17: 4.0 out of 5 - This is the first time experiencing Mike's Drive In. My wife wanted to try this place out since she sees the coupons in the coupon mailers that comes monthly. It's small and not much inside seating, but there are a lot of regulars who comes here. We wanted to try the seafood items and take it to go. So of course, we used the coupons. Admittedly, it's not much to look at. If you were to pay the regular price you may find yourself disappointed. However, once we started in on the food, it was actually quite tasty. For being fried foods, it wasn't oily nor rank. They obviously cycle out the fryers frequently. So would we go back? I would say yes. It ended up being a positive food experience for us. So if you haven't tried Mike's Drive In yet, then try it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

My wife saw an indication that one of Mikes' temporary featured flavors was licorice ice cream. We made the trip (finding out along the way that the Sellwood location no longer exists). Fortunately, the Milwaukie location is going strong. This is a real piece of Americana - with a bowling alley across the street, train tracks that run alongside the edge of the parking lot, ads painted on the windows (not sure if it was Scot Campbell's work, but the retro vibe works), and, most importantly, quality food that's made to order. The licorice lover in my family was thrilled with her ice cream, while I was very impressed with a soft serve sundae made with Ghirardelli dark chocolate and caramel. Current Covid procedures do not allow dining inside, so my only concern would involve a visit when it's rainy - there's a covered sidewalk that can easily be full of people waiting to place an order. So, once you've ordered, it may be hard to stay dry while waiting for your food to cook. And, yes, I firmly believe the quality of Mike's offerings is well worth the wait.

First impressions are everything. Within the first two minutes of me arriving to the front window I was greeted with a smile through a face mask and a warm voice. Rebecca who works in the front, did a phenomenal job of understanding my needs and delivering awesome recommendations according to our cravings. I was given a menu so I could overview the options with my wife in my car and we decided on going with the basics. Mike’s does a fantastic job of understanding their identity as a burger joint. Their options are numerous but the basics are classic. They did such a good job of hiring the right staff and it’s no wonder Mike’s is always busy when I pass by. Great job guys!

If you're hanging out around the homestead and realizing that you need the damned best burger and fries, there is simply only one destination in town. That destination is simply Mike's Drive-in. When you arrive there may be a short wait, as you wait remind yourself the deliciousness that is in front of you. When you get to the window be sure in order a bacon cheeseburger, with tots. If you see fit to treat yourself as a human you should probably go ahead and get your yourself a chocolate milkshake as well. The deliciousness combo platter of a bacon cheeseburger with a sidecar of chocolate milkshake and tots is nothing short of a damned miracle. Now you know what to do cowboy.

Absolutely fantastic. Both Mike's locations are stellar. The best stuff on the menu: pastrami and swiss burger and the chili fries. They also have fantastic shakes, try chocolate and marshmallow! Their fried pickles are also out of this world, far better consistency than most other places and a good crispness to them. This is one of them best burger joints in the Portland area, and comes along with the old time drive-in charm too. Can't recommend this place enough, you're going to love it.

Fantastic local drive in burger joint 🍔 🍟 They've been serving the outer Portland area for 50 years now! I recently attended their 50th Birthday anniversary 🎉 Big juicy burgers. Onion rings n tots. Yummy ice cream milkshakes with a plethora of flavor combinations + sundaes and cones too🍦🍨 I got a marshmallow shake 😁👍🏾 I hope they stick around n keep on serving here in Oregon 🌄

Portland’s classic drive-in burger place. Just great traditional burgers, Franz buns. Not too messy so easy to eat in car, important during covid. Best of all, fries nice and hot, perfectly salted and great balance of crunch and softness. Plus it’s fun that if you don’t want a burger, the giant menu has everything else you might want to eat. The ice cream look good we’ll try it next time!

Great burger I got the Mike's Burger which had bacon a fried egg I got the half pound with two pieces of cheddar cheese I also after I was done with my burger got a medium chocolate shake I'm really full and satisfied you can walk up to the window and order to go and sit on benches or you can walk inside and order to go or eat it at the four or five tables that are on the inside. Nice friendly people that work there

I love to support local businesses as much as I can. Mike's gets a lot of things right. Their beef is tasty and tender, their ice cream is fantastic and smooth, and their menu is quite large. That being said, they are indeed a bit spendy, but as a treat I don't mind. What I do mind is the wait times-- this last trip took 45 minutes. I understand that it was Friday, but I only ordered a burger, the seashore fries, and a sundae. So if you're looking for a quick bite, this is not the place, but if you're willing to wait, then go for it. Also, I highly suggest the seashore plank fries over their regular fries, which are quite bland.

Great drive-in that had survived the times! Delicious burgers with quality ingredients that won't break the bank. Awesome spot for families, especially with the huge amount of outdoor seating

Yummy food. Loved especially the seaside fries (sea salt and garlic seasoning, thick slices) and the soft serve was **totally bomb**. Burgers, yes, good too. Recommend!

Love this drive up burger and ice cream spot! Excellent quality for fast food (onion rings are the best in town), and they have a daily happy hour for a good deal. Gets busy quickly on days with nice weather, so you can expect a longer wait if the sun is out. Get around the wait by ordering ahead online ;)
