Possibly the best Japanese restaurant on Long Island. Great food, superb sushi and owners and staff are excellent.
Kaiyō was a cute place with good food! I was especially excited when they had gluten free soy sauce available.
However, even though I ordered my rolls without tempura (because of my allergy), my rolls came out with tempura mixed in. The service was quickly and friendly and the food that I could eat was very good.
I’ve dined-in and have ordered take out from here a few times, and it’s always been delicious! Great lunch specials with tons of variety. Service is always great and they’re always very friendly!
Tried this place by accident and had the best sushi meal on Long Island in a long time and I’ve been to most of them! This place has Japanese school style flavors! Great fresh sushi. Large pieces of sashimi and the flavors were spot on! The owners are so friendly and chef is great too! Must try!!
This place is amazing! The crispy rice appetizer was OUT IF THIS WORLD!! My tea cup and water were never empty. I almost didn't want to write this review so that know one else finds out about this hidden treasure. So much better than the old place here. The mason jars and menus were a really cute way to pull the ambience together. Fresh food and good prices. Definitely recommend! :)
Fresh. Ordered the 8 roll platter and tuna tartare ahead of time. All very fresh and tasty. Some of the rolls fell apart easily but otherwise very good and was ready when I came for pickup.
Kaiyo is overall an amazing resturant and we can not say enough good things. Our favorite place to order lunch from is definetly Kaiyo and the staff is so friendly and welcoming! 10/10 reccommend!
I'm writing this review from my car right after my meal because I've never been more excited about finding a new sushi place that's so amazing. This is, hands down, the best sushi I've ever eaten in my life. I've eaten at so many places I can't even count, but this tops them all. Absolutely incredible, fresh, and served with a smile. You get what you pay for, and I would gladly spend another $60 here. Can't wait to come back!
I was in the neighborhood and got a quick lunch. I got shrimp tempura 12 dollars during lunch time for two rolls very good and the staff was nice.
The food is very good and a spot my family goes regularly. The restaurant itself is rather cluttered but I think the food makes it worth it to go.
If you're craving fresh sushi and sashimi, this is the place for you. The quality of the food was top notch and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
My wife and I had the sushi sashimi for two with the fume special roll, and umi special roll. For starters we had the grilled squid.
If there's one word I'm going to use in excess is the word fresh. Everything was freshly prepare and the quality was top notch. Each sashimi piece melted in your mouth, and the squid was savory without being overly salty. The salad didn't have any leaves that were starting to turn brown and the miso soup was flavorful. Water glasses were kept full as were our glasses of hot green tea. We left the restaurant full and satisfied.
If you're a fan of sushi and sashimi, definitely try this place out.
