Cool place, food outstanding. The service needed help. Ordered a glass of Kim Crawford but the bottle surely was opened a while ago. Undeniable couldn't complain no one to resolve issue. Just let it sit. $11 down the drain. Check the wine prior to serving it. Will probably go back but just water next time because I don't drink beer. My partner's beer was amazing!

Stopped in on a Friday for some drinks before a concert and was delightful to find good service, and a live band. Our bartender, Smalls, was exceptional, and made us an Absolut Strawberry mixer, while I had their in house beer. We enjoyed it so much we came back Saturday. The bar has extensive history in Minneapolis, and an authentic experience. Strongly recommend a stop.

Gluek's is such a cool place. The history of the brewery, restaurant, and building is alone worth the trip. But of course, there are all the beers and the tasty food that must be tried as well! The sausage party was excellent (brat and andouille) on top of traditional sauerkraut and a side of the best German potato salad I've ever had! The spatzle mac and cheese was a beautiful dish and was a delicious twist on a traditional mac and cheese. (I'll be getting the mac and cheese next time - yes, it was that good!) The third dish our group tried was the pulled bbq beef sandwich with a generous topping of coleslaw - also noteworthy and something we'd reorder!

While riding the light rail into downtown I saw this building and thought “that looks like a cool spot and that’s where I should eat tonight.” I was not disappointed. This was a great experience all around. Great beer, food and history. Go here.

This is a really cool local pub with live music, great beer (and a full bar menu), pretzels and German food. I was impressed that it had been locally owned since 1934 and loved the history and beer steins. A must visit while staying downtown Minneapolis.

Got a couple drinks and a pretzel which was GIANT. A bit crunchy on the outside (we left crumbs everywhere), but the inside was soft and the cheese that came with it was delicious

Gorgeous drinking hall-like bar, the food was good and we had zero complaints. Beer seemed colder than a normal draft pour which was welcomed with open arms. I got the beef stroganoff and my wife got a schnitzel with spaetzel. If you order a 4 oz pour it comes in a tiny tall double shotglass-like mug, definitely worth the novelty if you want to try a beer. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

My two friends and I got a couple drinks here while waiting for the Twins game. I've heard Gluek's is the oldest bar in Minneapolis but it sure didn't show when I walked in. The service was great and checks were timely when requested. We didn't get any food so I'm not able to comment on that. There was also a stairwell in the bar that led to nothing and I thought that was pretty cool. 5 stars from me!

Fantastic German bar serving cold bocks and dunkels on tap. Their fish and chips hit the mark with a crisp exterior over flaky white meat. I’m picky about coleslaw, but they nailed it with the right sweetness in a vinegar base. The service I received was excellent. The bartender was courteous and helpful (a rarity these days), and my waitress (Tiffany) was warm and attentive. Well done. The space filled up about 6:00, but they kept the service moving and always had space to accommodate those who came through the door.

Started coming here in the mid 1980’s, and just came back in 2023. Still great service, fun atmosphere, and a solid mug collection.

The pretzel and beer cheese soup is probably their top seller, but I don't really like it. The pretzel is way too big, not enough salt and I'd like the cheese thicker. They always have great live music though!

This was a nice spot. I enjoyed the beer. I should've gotten my acquaintance the walleye fish and fries. Fish was flaky, and fries were immaculately cooked. The problem came with the Mac with bratwurst that I gave to a friend. Reportedly, it was flavorless. I tasted it and agreed. The only thing saving it is the protein you order with it (bratwurst), which was in fact delicious. However, if you eat it by itself, it's just noodles and cheese and can't stand on its own. I'd come back and just recommend skipping the mac.

Classic downtown Minneapolis bar. Great food, great German food! Gluek's beer is good as always and a classic in its own right. Come here for pregame, post game. Or the show, or just to chill. Always awesome.

Very authentic bar. You walk in and immediately smell the potato salad and schnitzel. The bar tender fit the bill. There's a good selection of beers perfect for washing down the flavorful food. It's not much a brewery though, as they don't brew any of their own beers. I had beer cheese soup with popcorn that was a great appetizer to warm up on a cold day. I followed it up with the jalapeno, cream cheese brautworst topped with sauerkraut and grilled onions and German potato salad. The brautworst is one of the best I've had. The potato salad was a bit too vinegary, but still good. My wife had the pork schnitzel sandwich with kettle chips and a side of garlic aioli and was very pleased with it. Overall, great place for some authentic tasting food.
