Divey little joint that appears to have been around forever but has awesome roast beef sandwiches! Don't pass this place up!
Awesome dive bar in NE Minneapolis. Great food and great service. Got the Philly with onion rings. Best onion rings I've had since Porky's closed. Can't wait to go back.
Divey location in Nordeast known for the giant sandwiches created years ago by Stan Mayslack. He might be gone but the legendary sandwich "the original" is still available. I spent a bit more than average as I had several beers at lunch as I was visiting Mom nearby.
Great bar food specializing in roastbeef sandwiches. Slacks is a legendary staple of northeast Minneapolis. Otherwise many of other great choices in the menu just like their wide selection of beers on tap.
Mayslack's is great! The staff are so friendly and personable. You are greeted and helped very promptly. The drinks are generous and tasty and the shots are HUGE! It is a very fun, easy going and likeable environment 😊
I didn't have any food, I have to say though the orders I saw looked and smelled delicious and will be checking out next time m the service was great, friendly, and the customers all seemed happy having a good time. Loved this place. Will be coming back.
Loved coming here when I was a lot younger. Nice to see it still has the same "Dive Bar" charm. This is the benchmark for all the little neighborhood pubs that we have visited around the world.
Hamburger was great an MD Allie our host was fantastic. Simple stuff makes it great - good food, great host, easy parking, good selections. You should be here and tell us how good it was. Wings (buffalo and BBQ) were equally tasty. Steak fries and waffle fries. Name a food they have it. Seating at or near bar is ample. What are you waiting for?!
Old dive bar purchased ages ago by a Polish fighter. Rumor has it that the retired fighter would push a hotdogs type stand in the bar full of meat cuts for the sandwiches here. Needless to say, the roast beef sandwiches are heaping mad, lads. The food is delicious. The beer flows cold. The bar is an old dive bar, which is fabulous. And the bartenders? Stellar service, attentive, and hardworking.
There is a large parking lot that is accommodating, a good variety of pull tabs, and even a sequestered section of the bar if you bring a larger party. The place is a neighborhood gem.
Tasty, esp the slacks fries. I had the French dip and the meat could have been just a tad more tender and seasoned but overall it was good. The jus was def salty enough to carry it.
Love this spot. Pulled up with a sizeable group and felt accommodated for. Also, one of my friends dressed up as a cowboy and we noticed that there was a wooden statue of a cowboy near the entrance. We took a fun picture. There's an extensive selection of draft beer and booth seating. Also, if you're looking to make a night of it, knight cap is next door. Would go again: 5/5.
Mayslacks is a great place in NE. Staff are friendly and thoughtful even for being a busy place. Gets crowded at peak times, but that's a NE bar for you. Food is exceptional for being a bar as well.
Iconic neighborhood bar. Amazing roast beef sandwiches. Fantastic sides. Great beer selection.
One of my favorite bars in Northeast. But you won't catch me here on Saturday nights for live music.
There is always a place to sit down at this bar, they have a generous amount of seating. While I have never had a roast beef sandwich here, the pizza/wings and cheese bread are all excellent.
The bartenders and servers here all seem to care about making sure you are comfortable, as always though that level of caring changes on who is working.
They have a great selection of beers and they also have some great Happy Hour specials that rotate on a daily basis. This is one of our go to bars. Love this place.
Cool place! Second time I've been there and I loved it. The food and beer is great.
Great food. Surprised it was as quiet as it was compared to my last visit some 30 years ago
