We love Izzy's! It's literally the best ice cream in the Twin Cities. So sad to see them go. The owner said tonight that they'll continue to sell at Kowalski's and Byerly's. Not the same but still yummy.
Was good but kind of expensive for what it was. Very pleased with our stop here. Took our ice cream and sat across at the park. The Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream was the best of what we had. The malted waffle cone was very good. Good fast service even for the long long.
The line can be intimidating. Allow 30 minutes on a weekend to get into the building. Once in, the service is wonderful. Everyone is delightful and good and suggesting a complimentary flavor for your Izzy scoop. It was my first time and I'll be back for sure!

One of the iconic ice cream places of the Twin Cities and this place never ceases to amaze me. First of all, am not an ice cream lover as much as my wife. But when your spouse is one, businesses like these flourish when the other partner has no choice but try something for the sake of company. I’ve been a regular visitor to this location and the one near the University of St Thomas, more often here.
They have a bandwagon of flavors of ice cream and sorbets and they keep rotating the flavors other than keeping some of the standard ones constant. You can taste all of it with a small spoon without any limits. Some of the experimental ones would sometimes taste disastrous like the Guinness flavor I recently tried with a ‘taster spoon’.
Nevertheless, I wanted to point out one instance that happened almost 6-8 months back when we got our cups with an Izzy’s scoop on top of it and went somewhere else to start eating the ice cream. To our utter disbelief we found a long strand of blonde hair on one of the ice creams. We we were already far off from Izzy’s and decided to call the location to report it, after throwing it to trash. The person on the other line was totally apologetic and took down my details. Then in less than a day the store manager called my number and expressed how sorry she was for the experience we had and emailed us a gift card as compensation.
Now this is what I call a customer service and this is what has ensured that we keeping going back to them all the way from Hopkins for their ice cream. Just scoop it!
Everyone loves Izzy's (even people who like beer flavored Ice cream) and some people don't mind long lines. If you don't mind a wait, grab a delicious cone with novel or favorite choices for ice cream for about $6-12. The time of day makes a difference on how long it takes to order a freshly made waffle cone.
Izzy's is hands-down my favorite ice cream. Either the Minneapolis or the St. Paul locations are a perfect stop on a summer day, or while you're passing through town. The unique flavors to their homemade ice cream make them stand out above the rest!
Hands down the best ice cream I have ever had. I live out of town and make it a point to come every time I am in MN. It never gets worse and always makes me mad I can’t get it in Colorado.
There's a reason that Izzy's has regular business all winter and a long line every night in the summer... It's amazing ice cream with a great selection of classic flavors, great Izzy original flavors, and new experimental flavors rotating in all the time. The Strawberry Mint Mojito last week was just incredible...
I'm a dairy farmer's daughter and I LOVE ice cream. When I travel I almost always hit-up a local favorite ice cream shop. So far Izzy's has topped the list for years! Their flavors aren't overly complicated, but are still unique and they often use local and quality ingredients. What I also love about Izzy's is they aren't lead by trendy ice cream ingredients. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into their craft. My personal favorites are Irish Moxie, Summit Oatmeal Stout, and Cherries Jubilee.
Izzy's, you are generous! You get a tiny scoop of your choice with any single/double scoop purchase! For a dedicated ice-cream shop, these scoops were much larger than what I expected. Staff friendly and will let you sample any flavors you wish. Tried Blueberry Cheesecake, Ginger, Raspberry Sorbet, Chocolate w/ Crunchy stuff. Ordered Blueberry cheesecake, mango sorbet, and chocolate w/ crunchy stuff! Very good!
Very nice selection of flavors and great design on the menus and building. I was pleased with all of the flavors that I tried! Would recommend for anyone in the area looking for some tasty ice cream.
Be prepared to wait in line! The ice cream was above average - what made the experience 5 stars was the "Izzy Scoop" (it's always hard pick just one flavor), the fresh made waffle cone, and malted milk ball in the bottom of the cone!
Went to Izzy’s for a delicious scoop of cake batter ice cream. Every order of a single or double scoop comes with a small “Izzy scoop” on top. Pictured is my cake batter scoop with a graham cracker flavored Izzy scoop. Delicious! There is patio seating adjacent to the shop, and the service is great!
They always have such fun flavors and the ice cream is really good. Flavors rotate often. Delicious and the Izzy scoop is an added bonus so you get two flavors instead of one!
Well yesterday was his Birthday and you either got a Izzy scoop for free I had Mojito Mint Margarita and they had a scoop of cream cheese on top of a crispy waffle totally scrumptious 😋
The place is neat and clean and a little expensive, but the ice cream was delicious. It was especially delicious on a hot summer day after walking around!
Large selection of flavors. Dairy and non-dairy. Strawberry was ok. Passion fruit was awesome. Interesting architecture.
It’s really sad to see them shut their doors. We had fair share of our memories with their ice creams and a stroll in the Gold Medal Park. We could get our last Izzy scoop on their last day
Nice busy spot. Great ice cream and a cute idea. Highly recommend before taking a walk through the park nearby.
