After 35 years of visiting the Northwoods of Minocqua, Hazelhurst, Manitowish Waters, Boulder Junction, Arbor Vitae, Presque Isle, & Woodruff - we finally stopped at Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty to celebrate National Paul Bunyan Day and have some camp / family style breakfast. It was very fun...from the minute you walk in to the lobby, you're greeted by an enthusiastic host that takes your order and collects payment, next you're ushered to your camp table, replete with red checkered table cloth, tin plate, and enamel coffee cup, by a logging camp guide. The famous Paul Bunyan, warm sugar donuts are served next with a hot cup 'o joe and your favorite juice. Breakfast fixin's are served family style so everyone at your table gets enough to eat. Our server, Jeremy, was great - always checking to make sure we had enough to eat and drink - he was entertaining and a gracious host. I absolutely loved my visit and can't wait to get back again - I had a blast. Things I loved - the kitchy Northwoods decor, the Bloody Mary, the donuts, the sausage links, the french toast, the pancakes, the service, the atmosphere - thank you to everyone for making it fun visit. Wish you would have had something special for the National Paul Bunyan Day celebration - maybe next year. Have some fun, don't wait 35 years like I did, visit Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty soon and enjoy!
Great breakfast and friendly service. Our waitress was so fast bringing out the food. Donuts are still exceptional.
A lot of people are commenting and reviewing thinking this is the one in the Dells. This is the one in Minocqua, Northern Wisconsin.
We’re a fulltime travel family & this place was great! A nostalgic Northwoods favorite! � �� pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the servers and love the atmosphere! The biscuits and gravy were our favorite part of the meal (along with the donuts) ... we will be back! � - Sara & Jordan

Hands down, the BEST breakfast spot in the Dells. My family has made Paul Bunyan a staple stop each and every time we visit. Fun gift shop. Warm, delicious sugar donuts. Great variety of traditional cook shanty family style food.
The breakfast was amazing and staff was super friendly.
A must every time we go up North. Never been there for dinner because we always hit them up for breakfast. Just thinking of the fresh donuts make me want to go back. Never a bad visit yet
