Our first time in the area and this place was recommended as a great family owned sushi restaurant.
The experience was nothing short of fantastic. The fresh locally caught blue fin tuna was out of this world delicious and the special rolls were incredible. We left and my wife says “that’s the best damn sushi I’ve ever had.” This is all you need to know but the experience here goes well beyond the food. I did not get the owner’s name, but he’s a good dude; very humble and passionate about his craft.

The whole staff was extremely friendly, and our server was helpful with a recommendation of a sushi choice, which ended up being delicious. The shaggy dog roll was mouth watering.
A hidden gem in Destin Fl, the owner, Andy was super welcoming and professional... the food was fantastic and the portions are great! Super recomended
Fantastic place to eat. The sushi was amazing and they have a very large menu with many different types of rolls. Some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. This place should be a must visit for any sushi lover visiting Destin. The service was top notch as well. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I visited here for dinner today. When arriving, I must say the service and owner are super friendly! They were super helpful answering questions and made us feel at home. My boyfriend eats sushi all the time, but I don't really like the fishy taste of it, so I got teriyaki chicken and rice. However, he had me try some things, and goodness did I get a wake-up call! Nervously, I tried baby octopus, but it actually turned out to have a great taste! We got the Good Life Special also, and when I tried it, I could no longer say I didn't like sushi. I truly LOVED it! If we lived in Florida, I'd definitely eat here daily, so anytime we visit Destin, it's definitely going to be a stop we make again! Highly recommend visiting if you're in town!
Update: STILL THE BEST! The owner/boss man Andy** is so wonderful. Always ensures his guests are more than satisfied. I always am!

Whenever I am there I typically get sashimi and then ask for the Chef’s recommendation for the sushi rolls - We trust them more than we trust ourselves , everything is always delicious.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We started eating before I remembered to take a photo. The panhandle roll (spicy) is off the chain!!! So good.
This is the best sushi I’ve ever had in my entire life. You know the scene of ratatouille when he eats the cheese and all the fireworks go off? Same. Most delicious sushi I’ve ever had. It’s worth it. Try it! Great vibes in this restaurant!
Not a big place, but what a Great find in Sandestin! Im a sushi lover and this place filled my needs! I ordered the sushi/sashimi deluxe, Red dragon roll and two off the menu items(you have to ask😉). Everything was well executed and tasted fresh. Chef even gave me a special sauce to try with my salmon!
Tourists and locals alike walk in to be welcomed by the owner and staff. Andy personally comes to each table to check in and just be his overly friendly self. The staff are treated well as it shows how they take care of the folks eating. Food is extremely fresh. They are normally closed during tourist time of the year. They normally close in the early part of summer and reopen around September. They open at 5 and normally have a wait right after.
Quiet, quaint, perfect intimate atmosphere. This is one of the few places in the area where you can find fresh local seafood brought to you in its purest form. Chef Andy will always delight your taste buds. Fresh citrus, spice, and everything nice is awaiting you at the best place to find the some of the gulf coast’s best sushi and Japanese cuisine. Grandpas best secrets are hidden within this gem of a menu. If you like spice , and I mean truly enjoy it, ask for Sophia’s hottest and you will not be disappointed.
