Let's just say we ate here 4 times in a 6 day trip .
Have been to Destin many times and and this is by far the best value and food you could possibly get anywhere .
Great quality and quantity of food
Steak and shrimp are great and so was shrimp and mahi.
Also tried the crab legs they were excellent and good price.
Service and drinks are excellent along with partial view of ocean depending on your patio seat .
On vacation, stayed at a place near here. Thank goodness because they give you a buzzer that will let you know when it's time to be seated cause there is always a wait. Wow. This place is BUSY and loud. Service is somewhat lacking. Food was good though. Bloody Mary was delish. The gumbo was also good and spicy. Oyster Rockefeller and fried calamari were also a great choice.
Local, family-owned, and authentic Miramar Beach staple and "must-go" when in town! It's not fancy, so if you need the white tablecloth fine dining experience, look elsewhere. If you're looking for great fried or grilled seafood, oysters, crab legs, and Cajun dishes like the best gumbo in town, crawfish, jambalaya, etc., this is your place. They also have the BEST burgers around. The fried shrimp basket is my favorite. Their batter is light, crunchy, flavorful, and not greasy. With outdoor dining and a view of the sparkling Gulf waters, great service, cold beer, and cocktails, it's always a fun time. Karaoke on Wednesdays (and Sundays in the busy season) starting at 7pm is a rocking good time. Get there early if you want a seat or to sing! People even bring folding chairs and sit in the grass or in their golf carts to watch the fun. They occasionally have celebrities show up to sing (members of Back Street Boys, winners, and other top-placing singers from The Voice and American Idol, country artist Tyler Farr, among others), and the amateurs are often really good! There's also live music some other days of the week.
We have driven by Kenny D’s many years and never stopped in to try it. We stayed next door this past vacation and we ate there numerous times! Local feel, laid back and best food in town! We had Blackened Maui Maui, Crab Cakes, Burgers/Fries, fried mozzarella sticks for appetizers, fried shrimp, chicken tenders and variety of other foods. Best food in town! Best fish my parents and wife had ever had. Became our favorite place. Didn’t have to dress up and great food after long days at the beach! Some nights we walked over and ate and some nights we ordered take out! Highly recommend for chill night and have live music some nights! New favorite place! Highly recommend over the bigger named places that take 2 hours to get food and not as good as Kenny D’s! Fun place!
This place looks like an old diner from the outside. Inside has a bar like vibe. Food was good but didn't have the Cajun taste like I was expecting. I ordered the shrimp feast and the shrimp was good but expected it to have more of a Cajun taste. My husband really enjoyed the oyster chowder.
Great restaurant, only one criticism was the bean sides it was canned. The rest of the food was delicious and tasty.
Had the fried crab basket with fries and hush puppies. Very generous portion, fresh and delicious!
Sat on the patio , great live music and delicious sweet tea to go
I’ll preface this by stating I’m not a huge lover of seafood, but I eat it from time to time. Blackened Grouper seems to be one that I really enjoy. So, I went on a limb and tried the fried grouper sandwich. It had good flavor, but I think I’ll stick to blackened grouper. It kills the fish flavor a little better. My husband enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Melt. He said it was amazing. I can also say that it had no fishy flavor at all. He had also come the day before where he said he enjoyed best fried fish he’s ever eaten.
We were seated immediately and our server was quick to take our order. We had great local beers and fried calamari that was fried perfectly. We ate mahi tacos, fried mahi, and blackened grouper sandwich- all came with fries. Would definitely eat here again!!
Great place to eat, staff are super nice! A local fave and there’s plenty of food with your order. Definitely starve first before you visit 😁 I recommend visiting in between their rush hours as line/wait can be long. Would recommend 👍
