This is one of our favorites places to eat. It is right on the beach, the staff is very friendly, the food is great and the kids go run on the beach while they wait for the food. The drinks here are made very well too. Relaxing environment and a nice place to visit.
We stopped in at Whale's Tail early this morning while walking the boardwalk at Miramar Beach. Not a fancy place - more of a beach vibe. Plenty of breakfast menu selections. I had the western omelet with grits and wheat toast. The others had Belgian waffles with hash browns and bacon. Our meals came out quickly and everything tasted great. I only order grits when in the south and these did not disappoint! Great views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico! If you're in the area, you should check them out!
This place is great. I was looking for a casual restaurant with a great view in this place delivered. The patio seating and the beautiful view was awesome. The crabcakes were delicious and the service was good. If you’re looking for casual and quick service, we could’ve use check it out.
Went for a quick lunch. Service was great for a beach side restaurant. In and out in 45 minutes. View is the best part as the food is like any other local beach spot. Had the grouper tacos which were pretty good. Also had a chicken wrap that was better. Will return for the view.
Our Argentinean server Stephanie was sweet, and took really good care of us. The food was so delicious. It is very very casual. Paper plates, plastic cutlery,plastic cups,picnic bench seating kinda casual.
I don't ever think I've been at a restaurant that was this crowded and had such fast service. Huge portions and very nice staff. We are definitely going back the next time we are in destin.
We were seated immediately and our server, Velma, was friendly and had our drinks and food out so fast! She recommended the Mermaid Brew mixed drink and it was delicious! We had crab cakes (omg), grouper- fried sandwich and blackened dinner, and the Mahi wrap. Everything was so good and brought out hot!

This place was the absolute best! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and wanted some quick seafood and we happened upon this place. They sat us at the cutest spot overlooking the beach during sunset. First off our server was amazing. I believe her name was Indie? (Sorry if I spelled it wrong! My brain is fried after wedding week ). Anyways she was an incredible server. The hosts and management were all on point as well. Everyone was very inviting and genuine. The food!! Omg the food was quick and hot and fresh. My fish was fried to perfection. The last cherry on the night was our complimentary milkshake for the newlyweds! So yumm… I don’t usually leave long reviews but I thought y’all deserved a shoutout cause we had such a good time. Thanks so much 😊
Enjoyed lunch on their patio overlooking the beach. Service was a bit slow. By the time our food came, we were 2 drinks down. Prices are decent but then you eat in paper plates. I didn’t care but someone may. Food was decent and drinks were good. Overall good experience.
I had the fried shrimp and it was so tasty!! The view of the beach is unbeatable and if you show around 4 you’ll be automatically seated (coming from a fam that came with 8) Loved it!!
The Whales Tail is convenient to Seascape Resort so we go for lunch when at the beach there. It’s a bit pricey but the drinks are usually good & we’ve only had one bad meal. Grilled shrimp Caesar is really good. Love to sit along the rail for the best view of the beach.
Bring a beach towel, and experience the sunset here, and grab a frozen hurricane to enjoy. August moonrise happens minutes after sunset from this location.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. When they saw we had two disabled people in our party the immediately changed our table to a closer table. The tables are picnic tables but the brought a chair for our person on crutches. When it started raining they gave us the option to move to an inner table. The food was very tasty. Overall excellent experience. Would definitely go again.
Wonderful restaurant with seaside seating and great food. We had fried calamari and chicken tenders for appetizer and steak quesadilla, fish tacos and grilled fish salad for the main entrees. The whole family loved the meal.
Nice seaside restaurant with an amazing view. The staff is so kind and helpful. I really enjoy the the blackened grouper or the Miramar shrimp. The burger is also pretty good :)
They also have a downstairs bar and seating with cute lights on the sand

They’re quite busy during the season so just keep that in mind that there might be a wait

Best fried fish sandwich we’ve ever had! The grouper is cut in huge filets, super thick and flaky and fried to perfection. Comes with tartar sauce and fries. It’s the best price for being right on the beach and it’s perfect for sunset dinners. Vanessa was our waitress twice and she was amazing. We will return every trip!
