Most people come for the ice cream (or the bait, I suppose), but the burgers here are really great. Patties are formed from fresh ground beef when you order and fried on a small flat top grill. Not fancy, but a classic burger that beats any fast food fare. The ice cream is Babcock Hall and they make a great banana malt or shake with fresh bananas.

Their chocolate shake was predictably good. The service was good once I was served. And the setting is pleasantly different than the more well known spots that we all know. A bit pricey and cash only (though they have an ATM nearby).

This is a fun restaurant with delicious food and nice staff. It is easy to get some food and eat it on the dock by the lake. Just make sure you bring cash!

Retro vibes. Perfect summer stop across Schluter Beach. You need to pay extra for chocolate flavored ice cream which wasn't expected but well worth it! The place closes mid fall and reopens late spring.

Fantastic ice cream, but a bit pricey. Right across from the lake and park. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

This place is awesome! A blast from the past. 50's style Soda and Ice Cream Shop. Live bait and a selection of lures. Great Date spot. Haven't tried the food yet. Babcock Ice Cream is delicious. Closes during the winter.

If you plan on bicycling around lake monona, about 16 miles round trip, this is a nice place to stop. It's about the halfway point around the lake if you're starting at FLW's monona terrace. They offer phosphates!

Be prepared for a little wait if ordering food but it's well worth the wait. The burgers are patted out per order so it's not frozen beef. The ice cream is delicious with 16 flavours. Some people think it's pricey but it's not fast food and most diners are more pricey than fast food. Very good, we will be back.

Great little ice cream malt Shoppe where you can get a burger too. Like an old school soda jerk kind of place near the lake, next to a nice park. Perfect place to bring the kids and make a memory. Loved the university themed ice cream. I had the Financial Lemon Aid Ice Cream. Nice lemon flavored ice cream with gram cracker bits in it. Perfect blend really. Oh and they sell leeches too. Not in the ice cream, for fishing.
