Excellent food, frozen strawberry margaritas and service!
ME GUSTA!!. Thanks Patron for gracing the greater Pittsburgh area with your presence. Best standard U.S. Mexican food in the burgh by far. And best margaritas. And great low prices in a festive atmosphere with many Mexican wait staff. Senor Patron how about setting up shop in Pittsburgh East End? Por favor!
Very nice decor. Service was quick and friendly. We had Pollo Compadre and a Chimichanga. The only complaint is!the Chimichanga could have been fried more. Other than that, everything was perfect. Both meals had a cheese sauce that was outstanding. Going back real soon.
Suprisingly good. We went here a couple times and figured I would write a review. My family are avid tex-mex cuisine lovers. Patron's is definitely more Tex-Mex then authentic mexican fare, keep that in mind when eating here. Compared to other restaurants in the are (El campesino, La Hacienda, Don Pablos) this place ranks top on my list. The first time I ordered the lunch buffet (Sunday's only), and was impressed how fresh the food was. Definitely much better than La Hacienda's buffet and priced similar. I snacked on the chicken taquitos and chicken enchiladas, with a side of tomatilla sauce. My only complaint is the chicken enchilada's are served with red sauce automatically and you can only get the tomatilla sauce on the side. The next visit I ordered the chicken enchiladas, the chicken was flavorful and moist, as well as the enchilada sauce, red sauce. Will be venturing there again soon. Also, the chips and salsa -- EXCELLENT...chips both times were warm and crisp, and the salsa tastes like the homemade salsa I make from my own kitchen, definitely not jarred. I recommend trying this place, but remember it's more tex-mex fare then mexican fare.
Fantastic!!!!. Being from San Diego this is the first authentic Mexican food I've tasted in the Pittsburgh area. The staff is friendly, very helpful and informative plus the atmosphere is colorful and inviting. The menu is well stocked with a variety of dishes and today I notcied a Sunday Brunch sign ... woo hoo! For the hearty lunchtime appetite don't pass up the Grande Burrito which I am devouring as I write this.
Patron has a nice, colorful atmosphere. My husband and I usually sit in the bar area. The beer is reasonably priced and the margaritas are decent. I would highly recommend the chicken nachos as an appetizer. It is worth a try.
Great Food, Great Service. Friendly staff, great chips and salsa, great food. Definitely recommend over Mad Mex and El Campesino. Must Go!!!
Great!. We stumbled upon this restaurant while attending Steel City Con at the Monroeville Convention Center. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food, great service and loved the fact that they had lunch specials on the weekend as it was around lunch time! Authentic mexican food, not a chain. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
I enjoy Mexican food very much. It was a large part of my life growing up. This place has great food, great service, and even better ambiance. Would recommend to anyone.
Patron is a good option when hungry near the mall. I like the bright colors of the decor and the shrimp tacos are very good. They come with a side of shredded cabbage and a tangy sauce.
Good Food. After getting a chuckle reading the other reviews, I thought I would share mine.
They have a large selection to choose from, and unlike the other Mexican chain restaraunt just up the road, it is not all covered in red sauce and unidentifiable.
I got the Veggie Chimichanga. The veggies were steamed and still crisp tender and otherwise "undressed" (not swimming in sauce) My chimichanga was not greasy at all. It's covered with a white cheese sauce that is slighlty spicy but not overwhelming. Their rice was good too, I didn't try the beans. I wasn't fond of their Sopailla-way too sweet for me! But hubby loved the Fried Ice Cream.
As for the service, we were happy both times we went.
I was not as concerned as other reviewers as to the nationality of my servers, in this economy I am sure everyone is looking for a job~~are they all Italian at Olive Garden? Just saying......
Loved the service and food. I tried Patron in Monroeville for the first time today. Excellent atmosphere, service, and food...at a great price. This is authentic Mexican food. To all of you comparing Patron to Taco Bell, El Campesino, and Don Pablos...you have never had authentic Mexican food!!!
First I'd like to say I'm not sure what kind of idiot "swerves into the parking lot" but I'm not sure I want their advice on much. Saying they are 2 steps above Taco Bell for twice the price fits pretty well (simple math). My husband and I went with our 2 boys and my mom so we were able to try different things. For the most part we all liked it. I could do without the parrot and sunshine chairs and booths but other than that the decor was ok. The food was pretty good. The chicken tacos were really good (big chunks of chicken). The pollo amigo was excellent. The kids meals wrere a good size and allowed my son to add ckn to his quesadilla (many places don't or charge extra). The beef tacos were just ok. El campesino beats them out hands down. Overall good food for a good price.
Nice atmosphere, good food, good beer on tap.
Yeah. That’s what this salsa tasted like. Onions and ketchup.
The fajita Gorditas are amazing!!! They come with rice, beans, and salsa. The manager, Marcos was nice and welcoming. It was my first time there and I will definitely be back!
I’m going to be completely honest with my review about this establishment, but to save you from reading it all I’ll have a quick summarization of my feelings right now, this is without a doubt the best Mexican restaurant I have ever gone to. I have traveled various places in America as well as other countries and no matter what I have never had more flavorful Mexican food this place is in my eyes the most 10/10 place you could ever go to. I frequent this place many times and any time I’m out of the country and come back it is my first place I go to for an amazing meal. If you live around the Monroeville area you must try this restaurant out, it’s not a option it’s a demand, I demand you go here and treat yourself. Thank you patron for consistently giving me great meals throughout the years at a reasonable price as well. However not only is the food great for a reasonable price the service is great too, my main guy Pablo is one of the best servers I’ve ever had anywhere period and he is always on top of his game almost seemingly never in a bad mood, give that man a raise he deserves it. I could go on and on about this place I’m definitely a huge fan, but I’m sure you the one reading this does not have all day for my writings, so I’ll summarize with this, if you haven’t gone here before, go here, if you have gone here and didn’t like it, try something else because this place is a 10/10 5 stars all day son.
Food was excellent! We got the steak Quesadilla fajitas. You get one large tortilla but it is stuffed with beef, peppers, onions and tomatoes. Very filling.
For dessert, we each got the fried ice cream. We didn't know how large the portion was, which was huge, so that was a little hard to finish. The fried tortilla cup was dusted with cinnamon and sugar and everything was drizzled with chocolate. Again, very good.
I would definitely recommend Patron.
First time here and the service and food was amazing! Got the fajita taco salad, very nice size and the flavors were amazing! Everyone's meals looked great!
