Best garlic fries! And the original veg sub I got was pretty tasty, although I was disappointed that the mushrooms were canned (halfway through I went and got a side of hot peppers and that really amped it up). My husband has celiac, so he was pretty happy when he found out he could get his sandwich on a gluten free *baguette.*
As always, best sandwiches in town! Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The gluten-free bread they offer is some of the best. Good selection of sandwiches, and everything is excellent. A bit noisy, but they have awesome music and good drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Definitely an awesome spot to have lunch on the go.
The food here is delicious! We ordered the "Jersey Cheesesteak" and "Jersey Italian" (hot and cold subs, respectively), coleslaw, as well as regular and Old Bay-seasoned fries. We drank Diet Cola and Root Beer. All of it was so good. The sandwiches blew us away, and the fries were really fresh. While we were looking over the menu, the owner came out to talk to us and tell us a little bit about it; he was very friendly. Overall great experience...and the food...if you're thinking about stopping in, you should.
The subs here are easily the best in Monterey. They have locally crafted sodas that are out of this world. You have to get the duck fries, they are amazing. I love this place

I give this place five stars Plus. Not even a question great food. Great friendly service. Probably my favorite restaurant in Monterey right now and that's saying something. I mean I'm not clowning around. Well okay I am but not in this particular case.
A bit pricey but the food is delicious. The Jersey Cheese steak was fresh and hot and made on the spot. Quick service too.
The owners, who are brothers from Jersey, are very friendly. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The cheesesteaks are huge and the flavor is phenomenal! I'm from New York City and have family in Philly and it's just like having one from over there. Cookies, beer, taffy - you can't go wrong here. The prices are just perfect considering the high costs of food of nearby restaurants. I love it!!!
This is a great sub shop. They have fresh food, quality meats, and very good breads. The best part though, is that they have Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer soda. That stuff is pretty impossible to find away from the east coast. There desserts are excellent too. The shop is clean and the staff is very friendly. It's a little pricey, but the quality of the food is worth it. I will definitely be returning.
I love this place. Food is amazing! 4 stars because my friend was in on my recommendation, and was a little put off by the woman who was a little abrupt, not too friendly and my friend wasn't explained that she could order more items on the sandwich. So she felt the sandwich was good but wished she had more stuff on it.
Only problem was we went for the eggplant Parmesan and they had none. The sandwich that we got was a Philly cheese steak I've had the real deal in Philadelphia and this one
measured up. It was really quite delicious. The fries are amazing. Very much like the East Coast boardwalk fries with it I ate for many years.

LOVE IT! One of the best Philly cheesesteaks I have ever eaten! Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service (s/o to Debbie for being awesome) and incredible food. Definitely give them a try. Just waiting to have a location in SF!
This is the best deli sandwich place in Monterey. Authentic New Jersey style food with friendly atmosphere and people who really care about their customers. All sandwiches are made fresh the fries are outstanding and there's a full selection of different types of fries plus homemade sodas
One of our favorite places to go downtown! Absolutely delicious and quality food and drinks. Not a great date spot because it's always cold and you have to sit either very high off the ground and far apart or down on the bar under the menu, but overall great place. Plus they deliver and do take away! Love it!
This place is as close as you can get to Pennsylvanian cuisine without touching the East Coast.
To clarify, the owners are both from New England (one of which is from Pennsylvania). This is rather important, as some of their more signature items, such as cheese steaks, need the know-how and experience to cook properly. This is exactly what you get at Boardwalk. To top the quality, the happy hour special is an extraordinary, adding in fries and a craft soda to an already amazing hoagie.
I highly recommend trying out the Pizza Burger and the Philly Cheese Steak. You won't regret it
Not at all what I expected but I'm pleased to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. Great choice of food on offer but as we were getting ours to go we went with cold subs options and ate it about 40 mins later, happy to report they traveled really well and were simply delicious. Everything made fresh to order (in fact you can see them doing it directly after you make the order!) and the staff were moer than happy to listen to particular requests for each sandwich. My only gripe was that they do not sell crisps / potato chips to take to go and only a selection of fries are on offer but knowing we were not eating for a while, this did not seem viable. Other than that, a really nice dining experience that I would highly recommend.
Their soup is always delicious!! Two different kinds to choose from, home made and tasty. Their house salad is quite possibly the best I have ever had, you must try it when you get a chance. It is a meal in itself. I highly recommend this place.
I was hungry after the movies. Since it was already midnight, I was afraid I would have to get fast food until I stumbled across Boardwalk Sub! The guys that worked here were super awesome and friendly! The sandwiches were so yummy too!! Ingredients were fresh and definitely worth the price!
Excellent tasting food excellent customer service. Employees have great attitudes. Dude just randomly walked up to me and gave me a free slice of pizza because i always come here. They treat you good.
