Honestly, probably the best seafood I’ve had in 10 years, and I used to work at an upscale seafood restaurant. The shrimp tasted like buttery lobster, and the oysters were the largest and the freshest I’ve ever had. Excellent fried okra and coleslaw as well. You really can’t miss out on this place, you gotta stop by if you’re in the area. 10/10
Fun local Montgomery restaurant on the banks of the Alabama river with views of downtown skyline. There was a live Blues band on Sunday so a cover charge to enter. Nice large outdoor patio and very good seafood selection. The gumbo was also very good and I'm picky about gumbo.
Folks this is a really iconic place. Don’t go here expecting some fancy restaurant with valet parking, tablecloths and waiters in white. But If you want some good fried seafood or ice cold oysters on the half shell and a laid back atmosphere with a view of the river then yes. This is what we call a dive but it’s not a derogatory term it’s just what it is. We had raw then po-boys. You cannot go wrong. Sit out back on the porch. This is a great stopping point if you’re headed south to the beach. Decent service and good food.
We will definitely be going back.

Came here twice in one weekend while visiting. Awesome waterfront location, ice cold beer, and fresh seafood! Both the raw and steamed oysters were perfect. The patio has a view of the Alabama river and is dog friendly. If we are ever back in Montgomery we will be here 100 percent.
I love sundays at the oyster bar. Best place to hang and listen to great blues music. Food is wonderful and as you can see from the photos I think the shuckers hire the band for their entertainment and we just get to enjoy it on their behalf.
Service was great. Didnt get 4 stars because 1- all disposable items. Cups, plates, silverware, shot glasses. Dont like feeling like im at a picnic not to mention the waste it is. Not horrible tho
Food was almost perfect. Beer cold and good, fries and hish puppies good. Catfish was cooked well also, only complaint was had a slight weird aftertaste. Like old oil or something or old foam plates or something.
Otherwise, it was good. Id come back if in the area.
Food was excellent! The whole staff had a great positive attitude... made you feel welcome, like they were happy to see us personally- not just a customer. Hats off to creating such a wonderful environment!
