While looking for a halfway point to have lunch between Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, I happened upon this place via my Yelp app, and boy am I glad I did! It is the perfect spot to meet my sweet mom, who like her daughter, loves a good glass of vino! But seriously, it’s not just the wine that keeps us coming back, it’s the food! Oh, and the ambience! Oh, and the sweet owner, Katie, and her adoring husband, chef Angus. Oh, and now their hilarious FB videos! Let’s just say, it’s one of our favorites. We were riding to J & P Cycles in Anamosa, IA and needed to find a place to eat. After making a couple stops we found Jitney on Main Street in Monticello, IA. One of the owner's was working when we arrived. The service is so prompt and friendly we all felt welcomed. The meal was over the top. The food was well prepared and all of us were duly impressed with the presentation, flavor, and quality. We highly recommend checking out Jitney in Monticello, IA for lunch or dinner the next time you are near.
My favorite restaurant...ever. Absolutely thee best ribs you will find anywhere, but it doesn't stop there. The chicken is phenomenal and all of the sides (veggies) are incredible. Love this hidden gem. I highly recommend this place!
We enjoyed everything we ate and drank at the Jitney. Funny though, the place from the outside looks deserted. You have to get through the first door to see if the place is open. Very cool old building, interesting menu and substantial beer menu. Live music when we were there.

The Jitney is a gem in small town Iowa! I had my bridal shower here and it was the perfect venue...classy, quaint, unique, and cozy. The food is fantastic and the wine and beer selections are unparalleled anywhere nearby. Highly recommend Katie, Angus, Erin, and their staff!

I never heard of this place until tonight! Had an AMAZING meal. Their small plates are great and filling. The pizza is delicious and has unique toppings. Delicious cocktails! I brought my mother home the sliders and she called me raving about them requesting I take her there!
My all time favorite place to eat and hangout. Wish it was closer to where I live.
Love the staff, the food and the drinks. Been here several times and have never been disappointed.

Delicious meal, great service, amazing atmosphere & incredibly well priced! Well worth the drive from Sioux Falls, SD to Cedar Rapids to Monticello!
The street tacos were great. Service was also very good.
A restaurant you'd expect to find in Iowa City or Dubuque. Terrific craft cocktails, nice atmosphere, and we loved the shrimp tacos and quinoa salad!
I had the brisket mac'n cheese dinner. I enjoyed it although it was a bit on the salty side. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I would eat here again.
Stopped for the night and found this place. Great food and not the usual menu items. Pork quesadillas were fantastic and the scallops melted in your mouth. Bacho melt for an appetizer is highly recommended. Place was packed on a Saturday night (mainly locals) and I think they only had a couple waitresses but she was very nice and checked on us often.
Awesome restaurant for such a small town. Most smoke flavored pulled pork I've ever had.
Great place to enjoy dinner and wine. Unique decor, excellent service, reasonable prices, delicious food.
