This place is the real deal. The owner is from Napoli and truly brings that taste to Morehead City. We have dined there twice and impressed both times. You can’t go wrong with any dish. The prosciutto appetizer was perfect. The Scallops and shrimp over your choice of pasta in a white wine sauce were delectable.
We are going back until we try everything on the menu. The location is off the beaten path. This may work to your benefit as most restaurants fill up fast during tourist season, but the kind folks here can usually get you in. The hours are great too as most restaurants stop serving at 9 PM. Taste of Napoli is open Mon-Thurs 11 AM till 10 PM and 11 AM till 11 PM on Saturday. They are closed on Sunday. I should mention that not only is the food special, the prices are very affordable.
Honestly. The BEST Italian restaurant I’ve been to in ENC. The food was honestly amazing; from the homemade bread, to the calamari, to the entree, to the tiramisu. You can definitely tell it’s made with love. The staff is friendly and helpful too! If you haven’t tried it, idk what you’re waiting for. If you’re not a fan of Ragu or great value; maybe craving homemade feel good Italian food; this place is for you. It’s phenomenal!
Man this place is good! In all aspects they nailed it on the head. I’ve been in town for a week, I’ve been to 7 different top rated restaurants and this is by far the best. Great chefs and great service. I wish this place was in my hometown. Highly recommend if you’re in town.
We were excited to try this restaurant out for our daughter’s birthday, and we had mixed opinions on the experience. I personally really enjoyed everything about the place, including being able to see the kitchen window from my seat, my entree, my wine, and my dessert. I ordered the spinach ravioli with mushroom alfredo sauce from the specials menu and had the only Pinot Noir available by the glass. For dessert, I had the light, fluffy, creamy tiramisu. I also ordered a side house salad with balsamic vinaigrette as an add-on and enjoyed it. Other family members did not love their meals as much as I did, though. One had the chicken parmesan with angel hair with a red sauce and said that the chicken was lacking flavor. He said that he should have just ordered the pasta and sauce. Another had a similar complaint about the lasagna ragu- that the cheese was bland. The kid plate came out with an adorable gummy bear garnish that won over the youngest in our party, who ate her penne with butter entree. The table bread was fresh and soft in the center with a wonderful crispy outside that reminded us of the part in “Ratatouille” where the chef describes how to tell a good bread. We were hoping for a candle to come out on our birthday girl’s dessert, but we would have needed to bring our own for that to happen because the server told us that they don’t keep candles around for birthdays. We all liked the atmosphere and felt good about supporting a family business rather than just going to the Olive Garden. We ended up spending way more than we normally would have for dinner, but will be back again and just avoid ordering extras that add up on the bill.
Great!! Excellent food at a great price. The staff and owner actually make you feel like they are very appreciative of your business. Highly recommend!!
Nice local spot tucked away from the bustle of Arendell! The portions are very generous, enough to carry home for leftovers, and service was personable. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and save room for dessert.
Good food and fine service. Very attentive waitstaff. Portions are fairly generous, especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. Dining room is clean, as are the utensils that come to the table wrapped. My only issue would be that they were not willing to make a slight change to my meal preference, simply substituting the pasta for a vegetable, instead. It seemed to me a simple request that should have been easy to satisfy. Although overall the food is tasty, their menu is priced above average for the neighborhood. If you can’t make good Italian food at home, then this is a good spot.
Oh my goodness! What an amazing place to eat. My mom got the chicken picatta with angel hair pasta. She said it was the best she has had in several years. The lemon sauce was so light and chicken cooked to perfection. I had the chicken cordon blue with their chef special sauce. Words cannot describe how delicious it was. This unique recipe may have been the very best I have ever had. Our waitress Jennifer was just the sweetest and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. She recommended them both to us and they were definitely 5 star. When you are in Morehead City you just have to try the amazing little out of the way off the beaten path authentic taste of Italy!
Did not see that coming! High-end quality in a comfortable and welcoming setting. If you are looking for tasty food made with love and served with a genuine, happy to be here smile - eat here. Had the classics and will be back to try more daring fare. They serve uncomplicated Italian classics as well as more cutting edge specials. The single greatest ingredient missing in so many restaurants in 2023 is love. The people who make the food care and you can taste it. If you're lucky, Lindsey will be your server and show you what real hospitality looks like.
I forgot how pleasant dining out could be before eating here. It's like its 2019 again. Thank you!
Nice patio and welcoming to well behaved dogs.
I came in with incorrect expectations of what "Chicken Piccatta" was, and even though i had the menu in front of me describing what i would get, ordered it anyway. The waitress and the kitchen were happy to help me get close to what i thought i wanted, and it ended up tasting great in the end. :)
Ill be coming back!
The food was really good. The place is nice inside. Cain our waiter was really nice and attentive. It took an hour to get our appetizer and almost as long to get our food. As long as you are not in a hurry this is a great little spot for Italian food.
Phenomenal!! Best calamari ever. The vodka sauce was fresh and the shrimp cooked perfectly. Thankful that a friend has recommended it. I'll definitely be going back.
Freddi and Mike were simply the best. Highly recommend stopping by here for a fantastic meal. The lasagna was top notch and the desert was... OMG!
I love this place and have eaten here several times. This time, however, we were charged for each dip that came with our wings. Shouldn't wings come with dressing to dip? Wings were outstanding, but we knew that as we've had them before. I will be back but I'll pay closer attention.
I eat here 4 to 5 times per week and the food is always fabulous with plenty left over to take home. Great atmosphere friendly staff
