Gene’s is the best kind of hole in the wall: good people, good food, good music, good tradition.
Quite literally the only bar I go to and don't get annoyed. Al has managed to keep all the great atmosphere of this historic place while also making room for great new beers, local music (never a cover!) and new friends. All are welcome here. A community institution. I can take my kid for football and hotdogs on a Sunday afternoon, too.
First time there and it's an awesome place with great atmosphere, will definitely be back! Live music, good beer and great service!

A classic old-school neighborhood bar, as it has been since I first went there 40+ years ago. Al Bonner has done a great job keeping the place going. Try the chili dogs!

The only spot left in Morgantown that has changed but hasn't changed. Nothing like dogs with everything and a cold beer, or a pepperoni roll filled with chili and cheese to soothe the soul.
The most amazing staff and a killer atmosphere. Music is a staple and they never charge you. You cannot get a better bar in Morgantown.

Gene's is just the way I remember so many years ago. I was a stranger walking in, though I'm a motown local, but hadn't been there in 30+years. But I was welcomed, and the beer was cold and beautiful. Same Gene's. Gotta love it.
