I GET lucky and they still have donuts from earlier in the morning so I double indulge. The Thai dishes never disappoint. I often get the classic pad Thai but occasionally I'll branch out for one of the spicy curry dishes that offer lots of veggies. And I am a huge fan of the fresh spring rolls. The staff is always very friendly and efficient. The dining room is very simple and could use a refresh but it seems most patrons get their order to go.
I'll be honest, I hadn't heard of this place. I didn't even know there was a town called Morris in CT. Tried to get a table for Valentine's day, by they were booked out, so I thought Feb 13 works just a well and got a 7pm dinner.
Starting with the valet and coat check at the gate, the service was very professional, which set a tone for the rest of the night. We both opted for the 3 course prix-fixed menu for $99 each. The Octopus starter and Lamb pasta entree were stand outs.
They have a comprehensive wine list as well, but choice is limited if you're ordering by the glass. Between each course, the chef sent us complimentary snacks that paired really well with the meal.
After dessert, we spent a few minutes just hanging around the building and admired the restored historic house. Overall a very good experience for special occasions.
The food was beyond delicious. I dare say that this was probably one of the best meals I've eaten in my many years on this world. Chef on the restaurants were so f friendly, they even met me personally.
Top 3 dinners so far, easily. Gated entrance, waiting valet and coat check, with a guide to our table. Set in a beautiful old home, very faithfully restored. Warm ambiance set by several wood fireplaces, with a similarly warm and friendly staff. The food, prepared by Executive Chef Chris Eddy, was wonderfully plated and tasted even better than it looked. The deserts, by pastry chef Jim Hutchinson, were a great bookend to our experience at Winvian Farm.
Delicious! I had to get something the next day and to go!. The sauces and creams and detail to fine dining appreciated ALL of it so much! The waiter made suggestions and we ordered multiples. I will visit again and again.
